PARTY STATEMENT
The WPB unredervedly deplores the bombing of sites in Yemen by the British military.
The claim that the bombings are in self defence is transparently spurious. The Ansar Allah ( Houthis) have been quite clear their targets are linked to Israel. By going to Israel's defence instead of pressing for a ceasefire in Gaza which would stabilise the regional situation it is the British government which has put British ships at risk.
It is grimly appropriate that British forces should be sent into battle to defend Israel against the consequences of its murderous onslaught on Gaza on the day Israel is defending itself against charges of genocide in The Hague.
That the Labour "opposition" endorses the bombing only goes to underline how far Labour has alienated itself from swathes of public opinion in this country.

I smelt a rat as soon as I saw the news of the mass murder in Kerman.
They (United States) are the allies of ISIS in Syria. They backed ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and the alphabet soup of Takfiri fanatic extremism In Syria for a whole decade. They gave them air cover, they gave them weapons, they gave them money, they gave them propaganda and other diplomatic support. It's not always obvious but issues of war and peace are front and centre of working class concerns.
Is it not working class families who have borne the brunt of energy price inflation following on from sanctions against Russia? It wasn't Putin sanctioning us, it was us sanctioning ourselves by barring Russian oil and gas. While energy prices represent only a fraction of the earnings of the sanction-supporting classes they represent a big chunk of working class family budgets.
And who is paying the biggest part of the taxes to fund the billions of military aid Britain has spent on Ukraine? Yes, the working class.
Imported goods prices are spiking as a result of the Gaza conflict spreading to the Red Sea. Instead of trying to tamp down conflict after the Gaza 7 October break out Britain poured fuel on the flames by backing Israel unconditionally. Again it's working class families who will suffer most because they spend more proportionately on essential items.
The surest way to ensure security and prosperity for Britain is not to make enemies, and definitely not to get embroiled in conflicts alongside our reckless 'allies'. That is something the ruling classes can never get in their heads. We must teach them.
