It is clear to see from the Prime Minister's speech tonight that the development of the anti-war movement, having grown from strength to strength, has caused mounting fear in the heart of the establishment.
Workers, seeing the limitations of demonstrations, have sought other further avenues of resistance. One is the growth of independent councillor groups - in Newham, Ilford and Liverpool to name but a few. They have shaken establishment faith in Labour's ability to secure the left flank of imperialism. That many are now putting forward parliamentary contenders has deepened the establishment's crisis.
But what were possibilities of disturbing the political status quo on the imperialist home front were last night proven realities. The British working-class, spearheaded by our leader George Galloway's Rochdale victory, have shown they will not be silently complicit in genocide and continue to vote Labour. As such the Prime Minister's comments come as little surprise.
It is clear to see what Sunak means by democracy is not for the purposes of expressing the will of the British people, but in fact the managing of the affairs of the ruling class.
