Piety farming to kill economy?
I know this may get downvoted. But it feels like piety farming has made a big change to how the game is played. After an hour or so of piety farming with a 6 man group and rare finder I had 5 uniques and 9 stash tabs full of unidentified ilevel 68 rares. People just don't want to run maps. It's hard to make an arguement against it other than wanting to progress in levels past 81+. You can run a map with a few people and maybe get 1-9 rares out of the whole thing. Or do piety with 5 runners and get 20-30 rares+uniques in 10 minutes. Even if you don't get a good rare you get enough alterations to buy jewlers/fusings. It has also made it difficult to sell "decent" items as everyone wants perfect piety loot, which is close to end game map loot. Now that you can get shav's and Koams off piety it's going to make things worse.

This was the 13th Mageblood that I have thrown into Alva's krangling machine of madness this league.

Ordinarily i play leagues when I have time and progress through endgame, full atlas completion and void stones, but this is the first league in a long time that I've stuck around so late.

Because I obtained my league goals including 40/40 I decided to Temple my Mageblood. To my surprise it hit grace/es which i promptly sold and used the funds to buy another mageblood.

Insanely the next one lived and i resold it for the same amount i bought it for despite being corrupted (people seem to not understand catalysts) and got another and repeated temple over and over, selling any double implicit ones for more and more profit.

Out of 13 magebloods total put into Locus I have had 5 no change (aka "white socket"), 2 poof, 1 brick to rare, and 5 double implicits, the last being this one with perfect quant/life rolls. This goes completely against my previous experiences where anything and everything touched by the temple disappears or turns rare because Alva is actually a malicious trickster god who laughs at my misfortune.

While most traditional MF builds will utilise a headhunter there are a number that can and do use Mageblood.
Given how late it is in league I'm tossing up between trying to sell (very late for MF farmers) and taking to standard and obtaining some disgusting legacy quant items there.

Temple results:
Grace/ES
Grace/AoE
Wrath/skill duration
Crit chance during flask effect/aoe

What lootfilter to use?
Hi All,
I'm relatively new to PoE and just started a character yesterday. I am following the Detonate Dead Elementalist build from maxroll and was wondering what loot filter to use. I couldn't find one list on maxroll so after searching I found you can use "Neversink Loot Filter". My question is if I use that will it be tuned to that build? If not then where can i find one that is related to this maxroll build.
Appreciate any help :)
Ty!

Pretty sure GgG tracks it anyway and has been since the start

How is Winter Orb as a League Starter?
Hello Exiles,
I know we have no patch notes and so on... but I am lookin for something new to start next League. I have never used Winter Orb bevor and wondered how it performs as a league starter. Looking at the few guys on poe.ninja that went with Winter Orb in Affliction the damage seems horrible. Importing into pob and looking at the damage calc does not look better. Is it viable as a league starter or is it a skill that functions mainly as a setup for Cast while Channeling?

Hatred-Conversion Question
Apologies if this is simple PoE knowledge but still learning as it is my first league.
I'm wrapping up a Cold Convert TS build with crafting my final gloves. I noticed most builds I have seen as "finished" have 35% Convert on Gloves... 25% on Quiver... then the 40% in Passive Tree thus giving us 100% conversion.
We then run Hatred... which is an additional 25% of Physical converted to EXTRA Cold damage.
Is this "over converted" thus being a waste of 25% thus making my mirror of a cold convert quiver a bad choice or am I missing some information on this.
Explain like I'm 5 because apparently this is confusing me lol.

Thanks Everyone

Looking to play PoE after coming from Titan quest
Hi, just spent 211 hours playing Titan quest and gotta say it's getting a little repetitive. Time to jump into something new.
PoE is hard. I've tried it once before, i think i got to lvl 14 as a mage. Accidentally sold my staff and couldn't kill anything after that. So stopped playing.
Can you recommend me a strong mage build with a guide i can follow. Basically an OP mage that destroys everything with skills and is relatively fun to play as 'beginner'
cheers
I was also wondering about DRIP. Yea, i'm a kind of player that likes style. I love that in Titan quest, plenty of sets you can grind for or just mash pieces together yourself to look dope. Not thinking about stats in those moments.
How does that work in Poe? You get a basic un-customizable character and then look the same as every other mage? Or does armor also heavily affect your look later on?
How far does 'endgame' go? Finish the game then do it again on harder difficulty until there's nothing left?
General beginner tips are also welcome \^\^
Edit: Apparently builds change per season. This game is not for me

A simple progression to get faster at clearing the acts
Over the past two months, I have practiced A1 to A10 runs frequently, and I recently set a new PB of 4:11:23.
Now, first off, yes: I know this is not a world-record time. But I started from 8+ hour runs, so I've essentially cut my /played to A10 in half. I'm not going to be anywhere nearly as fast as a pro any time soon, but for a couple of months of practice, cutting my previous PB in half is pretty good in my mind.
I didn't memorize every single map layout. I don't have godlike mechanics. I don't use those tricks like the vendor trick while running away (and, God help me, I really tried to learn it). But I realized that while all of these things help and must be employed to be among the best in the world, you can still get really fast without them.
Here's how I did it, and how I suggest you learn the acts: Disclaimer: for the majority of players, this is going to be terribly unfun. We'll be spending 100+ hours to shorten our A1 to A10 run by a few hours.
Step One: Learn What to Do
This may ruffle some feathers, but I'll say it anyway: just trying to run through the acts over and over is horribly inefficient. Yes, many prolific speedrunners essentially learned how to speedrun primarily doing this, but thanks to them, we don't have to brute force our way to learning everything.
mbXtreme made a series with Tytykiller which outlines each act in the game, giving information on what to do where. It is my recommendation that you begin with Act I, watching the act in full. Then proceed to Step Two:
Step Two: Run the Target Act Twink
Now that you know what to do and where to go, along with all the useful map navigation tips, the next step in my opinion is to run it twinked out. I'm talking 6L Tabula Rasa. Seven-League Step. Dual Lifesprig, 2x Quicksilvers prepared in advance. I would personally suggest a common starter build--not something like Hollow Palm. Select the gems that you need and buy the support gems in the process, but repeat this until you feel very comfortable running the act and applying what you learned in Step One. I did it about six times per act.
Step Three: Return to Step One
We're now finished with Act I. Zooming. We have a good handle on how it works. Now we do the same for Act II. We gather the information, take some notes if you want, and using our characters (who are sitting pretty at the entrance to Act II), we clear Act II. Repeatedly. We get the quest reward gems in the process for our preferred build, we buy the other necessary gems, we do the necessary quests (and Great White Beast for example, if you want), we do our Trials, and we zoom.
Step Four: Repeat for A3 to A10
Self-explanatory. Learn the act, run the act, again and again.
Step Five: Repeat the Process in SSF, only giving a slight review of what to know before
Now, there's a reason why we do this with twinked gear first. That reason is your brain is kind of a fucking idiot.
For example, if you give a human being a single knob to turn 90 degrees every 10 seconds, he's going to knock it out of the park until the carpal tunnel takes over. But if you tell him to turn the knob, bounce a ball, hop on one foot, recite the alphabet backwards, and turn 360 degrees every 30 seconds, he's going to shit the bed horrifically. Introduce these tasks one at a time? He'll figure it out pretty quickly. All at once? Not a chance.
We isolate the tasks, then. In the SSF version, you'll learn to get better at vendoring, picking up gear, inventory management on the move, and the like. Throwing all of this at a player in the first place is, in my opinion, terribly inefficient. When you learn to navigate the acts and skill assignment becomes muscle memory, you're not even halfway there. The rest of the way is a whole lot of grinding, and we should go through it act by act, one at a time.
Step Six: Full Runs
There you have it. A lot of people are going to disagree with me on a lot of points, and that's great. But this method fixed my A1 to A10 run time

BUG Winter Orb is still not affected by projectile speed and has not been for over a year.
Hi, about a year ago I made a forum post + a reddit post that didn't lead to anything, despite obvious proof of the bug. I want to play the skill again but proj speed not affecting it is kind of a bummer. Here's a comparison video :

video caption spoilered to avoid any bias:
>!left: 51% reduced proj speed, right: 331% increased proj speed!<
Pls fix, the skill is already underpowered enough ;-;

Giveaway - Mirror, Two Full Builds, Misc Rare Items
I did some div giveaways earlier in the league but noticed I still haven't felt like playing more. Figured may as well give some stuff away if anyone is still playing vs let it rot in standard.

Prize 1: Mirror
Prize 2: Full Fulcrum Chieftan build.
Not fully minmaxed but 87/88 res, shock + crit dmg immune, 49% chaos res, 42/77 IIQ/IIR base.
Prize 3: Full Penance Brand of Dissipation Inquisitor build
Had paid 600 div for the finished build to use for bossrushing.
Prize 4: Foil 19/30 Progenesis, Headhunter, Bunch of scarabs, 1x Doctor, 1x Apothecary

Instructions
Leave a comment about which prize you would prefer and why - be sure to include your character name.
I'll draw random winners tomorrow, anyone who I can't get a hold of will be re-rolled. Idea is to make sure winner is actually active vs just trying to RMT it/move it to standard.

League start is basically confirmed to be the 29th
Many content creators including Ziz, Mathil, ZiggyD, etc., have posted on Twitter that they'll be heading to LA for a POE2 event in March. Most of them seem to not mention the date, but a few of them (TalkativeTri (https://twitter.com/TalkativeTri/status/1765044607086383337)and Ghazzy (https://twitter.com/GhazzyTV/status/1765193636373844465)) have specified that this event is happening on March 18th.
ZiggyD's tweet (https://twitter.com/ZiggyDStarcraft/status/1765632278376616327)for the event mentions that he'll return as quickly as he can for "the reveal Q&A" which I assume refers to the Q&A for the 3.24 reveal livestream that he always hosts. Since the reveal is after the 18th, and the reveal is a week before league start, that means the reveal will be 3/21 and league start will be 3/29.
