NATO has pursued incrementalism by enabling its proxy to use increasingly powerful weapons to strike deep inside Russia. The question we should ask ourselves is how far this can go before Russia strikes back against the puppet masters. I think we are getting very close, and then all bets are off.

A totalitarian state is driven by an all-encompassing ideology, which claims to explain everything and is therefore extremely hostile to dissent. Totalitarianism does not limit itself to political behaviour but extends to thoughts and social life, as citizens are expected to internalise the ideology and live as if there were no boundary between public and private life. The totalitarian state does not rely solely on external coercion; rather, individuals are under constant pressure to conform to state ideology and to police each other, fostering thoughtless compliance with rules. Liberal societies can also be vulnerable to totalitarianism, as the atomised individual is less capable of resisting. Totalitarian societies use media to promote conformity to official truths that glorify the regime and its leaders while demonising the state's enemies. Objective reality is replaced with ideologically constructed narratives. Citizens are expected to internalise the state’s worldview, which limits critical thinking.
