YouTube reversed its ban and confirmed there had not been any "hate speech" on my channel
- I am not sure what happened. However, I was interviewed by the excellent Professor Jeffrey Sachs for his book club about my most recent book on world order. Professor Sachs said towards the end of the interview that he would see what he could do about reversing my ban, and the next day I was back on the platform
- My point of departure in any international security analysis is the security competition. Mutual understanding and recognition of competing security concerns are imperative to mitigate security competition and pursue peace. I therefore always tell my students not to hate their adversaries as it results in poor politics and diminished security. The idea that I would engage in "hate speech" is absurd

Jeffrey Sachs speaks about Sergey Lavrov. It is a great shame how diplomacy has been criminalized. To speak with adversaries is considered to "legitimise" them, and it has become obligatory to denigrate and demonise the other side to deprive them of legitimacy

NATO expansion is the source of the war and the territorial dispute is the symptom of the war - so why would the Russians accept a "land-for-NATO" peace agreement?
- At the Istanbul negotiations, Russia offered Ukraine the return of its land for neutrality.
- Russia considers NATO expansion to Ukraine to be an existential threat, which is why there is a war. NATO can disagree with Russia's assessment but there cannot be any doubt that this is the view of Russia that it will act upon. There is overwhelming evidence for this and no serious scholar can deny it.
- The need to preserve NATO's war narrative results in a lot of harmful self-delusion as important facts must be ignored. Paths to peace are ignored and the war is continuously escalated.
A prank call to Pompeo reveals a simplistic mindset in Washington: The US will bring Russia closer to Europe after the Ukraine War to split Russia from China
- First the goal was to destroy Russia and then go after China. Now that the war will obviously be won by Russia, the plan is to turn Russia against China?
- These people should improve their intelligence analysis and watch less Games of Thrones. Moscow will not flip after the US contributed to the killing of tens of thousands of Russians, while China helped Russia in its hour of need. Also, if the US can knock out China, then the US would turn on Russia.
- The great irony is that from Gorbachev's Common European Home in the 1980s to Putin's Greater Europe lasting until 2014, the main strategic objective of Russia was to integrate with the West/Europe
- Russia has now replaced Greater Europe with Greater Eurasia. It pursues a multipolar system, which translates into a multi vector foreign policy to diversify its economic connectivity

Why have digital ecosystems become imperative for economic leadership, military supremacy, political influence, and dominance in the information war?
- Much like during the First Industrial Revolution in the 19th century, political sovereignty in the Fourth Industrial Revolution requires technological and industrial sovereignty
- The book was published in 2021, but all developments continue as predicted

Without a soft veto in institutions, states use military power as a hard veto:
- After the Cold War, Russia was excluded from the main institutions of Europe. Europe would be organised under NATO and the EU, and eventually all of Europe would be members except Russia as the largest state in Europe. We then made it a slogan that Russia does not have a veto over our institutions. What could possibly go wrong?
- It turns out that not allowing Russia to defend its vital security interests with an institutional voice does not result in Russia abandoning its national security interests. It results in Russia being left only with the military option.
- The great powers were given veto powers in the UN Security Council so they could bloc with a vote rather than with military power. Removing the veto will not change their willingness to defend strategic interests, it will only give them fewer and more dangerous tools.
