Jammu, Feb 2 An army captain died due to “medical reasons” inside a camp here, officials said on Sunday.
Captain Rudra Pratap Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, collapsed at the Akhnoor military garrison late Saturday and was immediately rushed to a hospital, they said.
The officer breathed his last during treatment, officials said.

A midair collision occurred Wednesday evening at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, involving an Army Black Hawk helicopter and a PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the incident happened around 9 pm local time as the jet, Flight 5342 operated by PSA under American Airlines, was approaching Runway 33. The aircraft, which had departed from Wichita, Kansas, crashed near the Potomac River, close to the airport, with fireboats on the scene, according to ABC7.

U.S. Africa Command Public Affairs Statement :
In coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Africa Command conducted airstrikes against ISIS-Somalia on Feb. 1, 2025.
The command’s initial assessment is that multiple ISIS-Somalia operatives were killed in the airstrikes and no civilians were harmed. U.S. Africa Command takes great measures to prevent civilian harm. Protecting civilians remains a vital part of the command’s operations to promote a more secure and stable Africa.
U.S. Africa Command will continue to assess the results of this operation and will provide additional information as appropriate. Specific details about the operation will not be released in order to ensure continued operations security.
DRDO has successfully conducted three successive flight-trials of Very Short-Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) from Chandipur off the coast of Odisha. These tests were carried out against high-speed targets flying at very low altitude.
