Centre approves Chandrayaan-5: India, Japan to collaborate on the mission
The first mission, Chandrayaan-1, launched in 2008, successfully performed chemical, mineralogical and photo-geologic mapping of the Moon.
•Its successor, Chandrayaan-2 (2019), achieved 98% success despite facing hurdles in its final stages.
•Currently, the Chandrayaan-3 mission is operational which landed on the Moon's South Pole on August 23, 2023.
The upcoming Chandrayaan-4 mission, which is scheduled to be launched in 2027, will collect and return samples from the Moon.

In another major boost to Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Ministry of Defence today signed contracts with Bharat Forge Limited and Tata Advanced System Limited for the procurement of 155mm/52 Calibre Advanced Towed Artillery Gun Systems and High Mobility Vehicle 6x6 Gun Towing Vehicles respectively, at a total cost of about Rs 6,900 crore.
With the signings, total contracts worth Rs 1.40 lakh crore have been signed by MoD for capital procurement till date in the current Financial Year 2024-25. 🇮🇳

1,752 ex-servicemen and their dependents were provided advanced medical care by a team of Indian Army doctors during the five-day state-of-the-art eye surgical camp at 158 Base Hospital, Bagdogra, West Bengal. The team from Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi; Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt and Command Hospital, Lucknow cumulatively conducted more than 350 cataract surgeries ensuring that patients received the best possible care.
A total of 17 ex-servicemen including their dependents from Nepal were screened for ophthalmic ailments and some of them were subjected to cataract surgeries free of cost with high-quality lenses. 🫡 🇮🇳
Exercise Khanjar-XII 2025
The closing ceremony of the Joint Military Exercise Khanjar-XII, between the Special Forces of #India and Kyrgystan, was held at Tokmok, Kyrgystan today. The exercise was conducted from 10 to 23 March 2025.
The exercise enabled both contingents to enhance their capabilities in joint operations in urban warfare scenario, counter-terrorism tactics and precision sniping, improving interoperability between the special forces of both the countries.
The exercise has also strengthened the joint operational capabilities and build camaraderie between the Special Forces of the Indian Army and the Kyrgyz Army.

The second frigate of Project 1135.6 Additional Follow-on Ships, named ‘Tavasya’, built by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), was launched by Mrs. Neeta Seth in the presence of Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth, and FOC-in-C West Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh today on 22 Mar 25 at GSL, Goa. These Frigates are Follow-on of P1135.6 ships, which are now being constructed indigenously by Indian Shipyard.
