NFT was announced as word of 2021 by Collins Dictionary
The Collins Dictionary has officially announced their ten-word annual shortlist for word of 2021, as well as declaring that NFT — though technically understood to be an abbreviation for nonfungible token — is their word of the year, surpassing the likes of crypto, metaverse and hybrid working, among others.
The blog post spoke frankly about the prospect of a digital revolution through a "convergence of money and the internet," which seeks to challenge and evolve traditional mediums of payment into the 21st century.

Eurosystem Approves New Oversight Framework Concerning Crypto Services
The monetary authority of the euro area, the Eurosystem, has introduced a new framework for overseeing electronic payments, including services related to crypto assets. The new set of rules will complement upcoming EU regulations for cryptocurrencies and stablecoins.
Following public consultations on the matter, the Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) has approved a new oversight framework for electronic payments. The document has been published by the Eurosystem, which consists of the ECB and the national central banks of the EU member states that have adopted the common European currency, the euro.

Quentin Tarantino Sued for an Upcoming Auction of Pulp Fiction NFTs
Quentin Tarantino, the acclaimed film director, is being sued by Miramax, a Hollywood film producer and distributing company, due to the auction of a series related to “Pulp Fiction,” one of the director’s most popular films. The conflict lies in the interpretation that Miramax makes from the initial contract between the parts, arguing that the sale of NFTs does not constitute a publication of any part of the script.
Tarantino announced it would auction a series of never before seen items of the film in the form of NFTs, including the famous “royale with cheese” handwritten screenplay scene. The auction would utilize a blockchain called the Secret Network, which would allow the content of these NFTs to be secret until the sale of the item.

World's Largest Collector Car Auction House RM Sotheby’s to Accept Cryptocurrencies
On Wednesday, the world’s largest collector car auction house by total sales, RM Sotheby’s, announced the company will be accepting cryptocurrency payments via Bitpay. The firm’s upcoming Guikas Collection sale on November 19 will be RM Sotheby’s first auction to accept digital currency payments for collectible automobiles.
While cryptocurrencies have increased significantly in value, a great number of businesses have turned toward accepting digital assets for goods and services payments.

Bitcoin’s price fell below the $57,000 level on Nov. 18, sparking a widespread sell-off in ETH and altcoins. But traders say the current range presents an “attractive entry” for hodlers.
The price of Bitcoin (BTC) dropped to fresh lows on Nov. 18, and the brief visit to the $56,000 level resulted in a sharp sell-off in Ether (ETH) and altcoins.
Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView shows that support at $60,000 was breached early on in the United States trading session, and this allowed bears to briefly take control of the market.

Last week we’ve co-hosted the AIBC Summit, the largest conference and expo of the year in the emerging technology field.

Russia’s Prosecutor General Wants Cryptocurrency Recognized as Property Under Criminal Law
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia has proposed to define cryptocurrency as property in the country’s Criminal Code. Decentralized digital money has already been qualified as such in the provisions of several other laws although various aspects of cryptocurrencies remain unregulated.
The legal definition will be used in court proceedings within the framework of the Criminal Code, Russia’s Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov explained in the State Duma, the lower house of parliament.

GMT became today the 30th member of the Bitcoin Mining Council (BMC), alongside well-known bitcoin mining players such as Argo, BlockCap, Core Scientific, Hive, Hut8, Marathon Digitais Holdings, Riot, Galaxy Digital and twenty others.
This news was shared just now at AIBC Summit in Malta during a fireside chat between Michael Saylor, Founder, Chairman and CEO of MicroStrategy and Mike Costache, a blockchain investor, entrepreneur and consultant of GMT team.
GMT is now the 30th member to join the BMC in its campaign for industry transparency, sharing best practices, and educating the public on the benefits of Bitcoin and mining. The company has already shared its data for the latest BMC’s survey of the sustainable power mix, and is now actively working on a strategy to further prioritize the use of renewable energy in its operations.
