Leading Supermarket Chain in Croatia Introduces Crypto Payments
Customers of the largest supermarket chain in Croatia will be able to pay with cryptocurrency for their orders in the retailer’s online shop. The company plans to soon offer the crypto payment option also at its physical stores throughout the country.
Croatia’s supermarket chain with the largest number of stores, Konzum, is now accepting cryptocurrency for groceries and other items sold through its online shopping platform. Starting from Dec. 1, customers can buy any of the 12,000 listed products using nine major cryptocurrencies: bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), bitcoin cash (BCH), EOS, DAI, XRP, XLM, and the stablecoins USDT and USDC.

ERC-20 is the most popular token standard used for creating and issuing smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. Most of the tokens you see on CoinMarketcap.com are ERC-20.
BEP-20, the second most popular standard for crypto token development, was created with the intention of extending ERC-20 and developed on the Binance Smart Chain.
The main differences between these two token standards:
ERC-20
– widely represented on exchanges and DEX
– oldest and the most trusted
– low risks of contract breaking
– high transactions fees
BEP-20
– transactions are faster
– lower fees
– supports cross-chain compatibility
– less available on exchanges and DEX
But the choice of a standard is always up to you.

The future is Bitcoin according to South Park creators
South Park, the animated TV series that often tackles topical issues with a comedic twist, showed Bitcoin being used as a mainstream means of payment in the not too distant future.
In the “Post COVID” episode of its 24th season which aired Thursday, South Park depicted one of the show’s protagonists, Stan Marsh, paying for a stay in a cheap motel using Bitcoin (BTC) roughly 40 years from now, when the pandemic is jokingly about to end for good. The fictional Super 12 Motel Plus — in a future where nearly all brand names have “plus” and “maxx” included — only accepts “Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency,” with the show having Marsh pay using a plastic card with the BTC logo and a QR code.

Token burning: how it works
The community that has formed around the crypto industry for over 10 years has become accustomed to using specialized vocabulary.
What is token burning?
The burning of tokens is the destruction of a certain number of them in order to reduce their emission to increase the value of the computing power.
Why burn tokens?
As a rule, it is done to increase the price of a token, to combat inflation and increase the value of cryptocurrencies.
How do they get burned?
Developers send tokens they want to get rid of to addresses that no one can access (so-called “eater addresses”). The private keys of these addresses are not available which means that the tokens are lost forever, destroyed, or burned.
The GMT burning process is very simple. After the purchase of new equipment, the team issues new tokens, part of which (normally 20%-90%) gets burned. The released capacity is redistributed between other tokens. As a result, the computing power of each token grows, so does the reward.

Indonesia's Central Bank Considers Issuing Digital Currency to 'Fight' Crypto
Bank Indonesia, the country’s central bank, is reportedly considering issuing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) to fight the use of cryptocurrency. “A CBDC would be one of the tools to fight crypto. We assume that people would find CBDC more credible than crypto,” said an assistant governor of the central bank.
Juda Agung, an assistant governor of Bank Indonesia, said that Bank Indonesia wants to issue a digital rupiah to be used as legal tender to fight cryptocurrency, Bloomberg reported, noting that the central bank has been looking into this issue since the beginning of the year.

The newly-established Iran Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Association (IBCA) has started operating under the supervision of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mining and Agriculture (ICCIMA), the English-language business daily Financial Tribune reported.

Ban or No Ban: Conflicting Reports on Crypto Regulation Coming Out of India
Ever since the Indian government listed a cryptocurrency bill to be taken up in parliament during the upcoming session that starts next week, much debate has transpired about whether the government will ban cryptocurrencies, such as bitcoin and ether.
The bill titled “The Cryptocurrency and Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill 2021” seeks to “prohibit all private cryptocurrencies in India, however, it allows for certain exceptions to promote the underlying technology of cryptocurrency and its uses.”
