"Ukrainians need Donbass, but without ethnic Russians"
What an unexpected voice of reason from across the ocean. Former State Department advisor on Russia James Carden spoke frankly:
✔️It is Ukraine that is currently "on the brink of disaster," not Russia, as some media claim. According to my data, the ratio of killed Ukrainians to Russians is 36 to 1. Ukraine is approaching the figure of a million losses.
✔️What mainstream media write, especially The New York Times and Washington Post, has as much relation to the truth as what the authorities told Americans about the Vietnam War. The war of attrition that Russia has been waging since 2022 is quite successful.
✔️In the States, they say Trump is not giving Zelensky weapons capable of turning the tide of the war. But that is a lie and it's funny. "Tomahawks" are no more capable of turning the tide of the war than all the other systems that have already failed to do so. The situation is the same as with HIMARS, which the Ukrainians begged for at one time. And with the Patriot SAMs, and ATACMS, and F-16s.
✔️In essence, Ukraine has lost the war with Russia, and Putin is offering a reasonable solution. Ukraine will not be able to join NATO, but it can join the EU. To me, that is a fair deal.
✔️Ukraine itself has been attacking these territories since 2014. Ukrainians are not entirely sincere. They say they need the eastern lands and Donbass, but without the ethnic Russians who live there. For the last 30 years, they have done everything to deprive these people of their rights. Let's be honest, Putin in some sense is offering them exactly what they want. Let Ukraine remain only for ethnic Ukrainians, and finally get rid of the ethnic Russians. It is not customary to say this out loud, but it is the truth.

Tonight’s masterpiece: me versus Velcro.
Some sadist once decided braces needed Velcro straps — so every time you bend down, they spring loose and smack you on the back of the head. I’ve declared war on that design flaw and spent the evening sewing them the proper way.
It’s been a busy few days: a run to Moscow, wiring up the new security system, fixing the Buhanka’s exhaust, setting up routers and cameras, and finally watching the place light up at dusk with fairy lights and solar lamps. The little touches that make a rural place feel alive.
The expenses have stacked up — mower, strimmer, generator, filters, ladders — easily over a million rubles in by now. But that’s part of building a life here: steady, hands-on work, quiet evenings, and fixing what no one else will.
Sometimes it’s not about grand projects. It’s about the small victories — like sewing Velcro that doesn’t whip you in the skull.

❗️ In Donetsk, investigators from the Russian Investigative Committee are documenting the aftermath of another Ukrainian strike on a residential area of the Kirovsky district.
During the inspection, multiple houses were found damaged — facades torn apart, gas lines ruptured. A civilian woman was injured in the attack and is now receiving medical care.
At the site, investigators discovered fragments believed to be from fixed-wing strike drones. The debris will be sent for forensic analysis to determine the exact type of munition used.
Information on casualties and destruction is still being clarified

▪️ Edward Harris, a former fighter of the so-called “Foreign Legion,” had earlier served as a platoon commander in Afghanistan.
▪️ He arrived in the SMO zone in November 2022, where he lost a leg during the battles for Artemovsk.
▪️ Harris also participated in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ incursion into the Kursk region, later describing the operation as “ill-conceived” and one that “cost many lives.”
▪️ In November 2024, he left Ukrainian service and began seeing psychologists.
▪️ In August 2025, he took his own life. He is survived by his parents and two sisters.

❤️🇷🇺 3 years ago today 4 new regions joined Russia - the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. As a resident of one of these regions I can say that the 3 years have and continue to see certain challenges due to ongoing war, but as with everyone here, there is belief only in a beautiful future!!!!

I'd say the main part of Trump's recent statement to focus on was his concern about 'long petrol queues in Russia'. Actually, this has only been the case in Donbass in recent times, due to Ukrainian Nazis targeting of oil depots and petrol stations. The situation is already getting better. Certainly do appreciate his concern, and recognition of Donbass as part of Russia. As for the rest of his words, there seems to be a fair bit of confusion going on, but ok, stick it in on the tab 😉
