As a continuation of our series of posts about the parties running for the upcoming elections this Sunday, here are some parties that were further from entering the parliament, and are situated in the more extreme ends of the political spectrum.
🛡 Spartiates: Founded in 2017, by Vasilis Stigkas, a former member of New Democracy, Political Spring and LAOS, and host of political shows on the YouTube channel of well-known nationalist Konstantinos Plevris. Participated in the 2019 elections in a coalition with the Union of Centrists of Vasilis Leventis, and later joined up with other smaller nationalist parties. For the upcoming elections this Sunday, they have the formal support of Ilias Kasidiaris, the popular nationalist figure of Golden Dawn.
🪧 ANTARSYA (Anti-capitalist Left Cooperation of the Overthrow): A coaltion of small, and mainly Athens-based, far-left parties, usually subscribing to Trotskyist and Maoist ideologies. Besides the political branches, they also have a lot of support in the university youth. Never managed to make it into parliament, although they have had a few local councillors in Athens and Crete. The party militants usually take actions in the form of protesting, distributing ideological material and organising speeches and other propaganda-spreading events.
🌍 Ellinon Synelefsis (Hellene's Conference): A party founded, and centered around, Artemis Sorras. Sorras came to prominence after promising to wipe all debt and make payments to every Greek if he comes to power, as well as claiming to have enough money to pay the Hellenic Republic's debt upfront. Based around the idea that the contemporary Hellenic State lacks Hellenistic ideals, its members are initiated with a ceremony inspired by the Ancient Hellenes, and partake in similar rituals that the party organises.
🅿️ Patriotic Force - Prodromos Emfietzoglou: Party that was founded by the well-known nationalist, Prodromos Emfietzoglou. Disqualified from running in the May 2023 elections because the party used the star of Vergina as their symbol, which is not allowed under the regulation that forbids using any national or regional symbols to promote political parties. Staunch nationalist and Orthodox stance on issues. Will run for the June 2023 elections, after entering an alliance with some smaller nationalist parties and organisations.
🔴 In a narrative-breaking move, Greek stylist Vasilios Kostetsos accurately addressed the problem

👉 Post about the murder case
👉 “Unfortunately it's true! How the greatest fear! The truth we know but don't want to be true! How beauty human life is strangled murdered by uncivilized... people! Hungry and sex-starved! Where the hospitality and shelter given to them is dangerous for those who generously offer it on the altar of human solidarity! I feel sorry and ashamed for this beautiful girl who was murdered in her prime by heathen inhumans….. “humans”! In OUR HOMELAND!"
🔸 The media accused him of racism for linking immigration and "refugees" with the case/GBG/
🟢 Although of very little relevance, the statement breaks the narrative and starts a discussion regarding immigration and crime, something the media tries to avoid. This shows once again that people will only think for themselves when it affects them or someone they can relate

🔴 Greece moves forward with the purchase of 4 French "Patroller" Drones
>https://archive.is/J6tj4
🔸 The drone named Patroller, from SAFRAN, is focused on surveillance missions, being able to execute external and internal surveillance as well as maritime surveillance missions
🔸 The drone has the high-resolution Euroflir 410 EO/IR pod, combined with a COMINT (COMmunication INTelligence) sensor or a moving target detection (MTI) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), being able to provide data and conduct Electronic Warfare at the same time
🔸 For maritime missions Patroller has a multi-mode surveillance radar to detect vessels in the area and also has a Automatic Identification System (AIS) to perform vessel classification, then using the Euroflir to perform the final classification/identification
🔸 The French UAV has a flight range of 15 hours and can carry a payload of 210 kg at a speed of 100 to 200 km/h. The range in line of sight and with SATCOM is set to 180 km and 1,000 km

/GBG/ 🗂
With the second round of elections coming up this Sunday, and based on your responses to recent polls, let's give a quick who's who in terms of parties and some key people of these elections. Let's start with the main four:
🔵 New Democracy: Incumbent government. Traditionally had the base of the "popular right", these days it occupies the space of the centre, with economically and socially liberal policies. During their tenure as government, they handled the 2020 border crisis, the COVID pandemic, during which they enacted restrictions based on vaccination status, secured foreign and domestic investment, enacted policies of subsidies (called "passes"), for getting the vaccine, for shopping groceries or acquiring digital equipment.
🔸 In their pre-election programme for these elections, one key policy they seek to implement is the so-called "Family Ministry" with which they seek to tackle the demographic ageing issue (due to recent pressure from their right) and, curiously, also serve the needs of the homosexual community.
🟣 SYRIZA (Coalition of the Radical Left) - Democratic Alliance: Opposition for the previous 4 years, and governed from 2015 to 2019. Used to be the typical coalition of minor radical leftist parties, with results in the single digits, until the two elections of 2012, at the peak of the economic crisis in the country, where it achieved double digit results, and in 2015, came to power in a coalition with the right-wing ANEL. As the success of the party came from Alexis Tsipras, their president, the character of the party changed to a more presidential style. Ideologically, they range anywhere between centre-left, as with their rise, and the parallel fall of PASOK, they absorbed a lot of opportunity-seeking former PASOK members, to far-left, due to members stemming from various minor radical left parties.
🔸 Their tenure as government was characterised by capital controls in 2015, the Prespes Agreement with FYROM, the attempt to separate Church and State (Tsipras was the first Prime Minister to take a civil oath instead of a religious one), an eventually overruled referendum over the acceptance of the (unneeded) third bailout, harsh austerity measures resulting from it, despite Tsipras' very vocal opposition to them when SYRIZA was in opposition. Recognition of homosexual partnerships, and high taxation. Their key points of their pre-election programme are a rise in taxation in order to fund more social programmes.
🟢 PASOK (Panhellenic Socialist Movement): The party that first brought the left to power in Greece, as well as the only party in the world that has a political syndrome named after it (see: Pasokification). Ideologically pinned to the centre-left, their return to popularity in the recent elections came from their new president, Nikos Androulakis, as well as the harsh (and largely unexpected) decline of SYRIZA, due to more moderate leftists being unable to accept SYRIZA's more polemic and scattered rhetoric. As far as policies are concerned, they are, perhaps purposefully, rather undefined.
🔸Governed in the 80s until the early 2000s, with small gaps. Their tenure as government was characterised by rapid economic growth. Participated in the coalition governments that enacted the first two bailouts after the 2009 economic crisis, and suffered in popularity ever since, getting single-digit results until the first elections of 2023.
🔴 KKE (Communist Party of Greece): The oldest party in Greece, with countless youth or syndicalist branches, and equal number of off-shoot (very) minor parties, like ML KKE (Marxist-Leninist KKE) and KKE ML (KKE Marxist-Leninist). Their results range between 5% to 7%. Their positions have remained largely unchanged in the past 80 years, with the party literature using the same vocabulary since the days of Stalin.
🔸Popular with the university youth, especially with their current president, but curiously, the election result always remains the same.
🔴 Smuggler arrested near the Greek island of Lemnos
>https://archive.is/Dpl9H
🔸 The smuggler was transporting 39 immigrant in his boat, they used NGOs to contact European services of emergency and asked for assistance due to mechanical malfunction
🔸 A 33 year old man was arrested and was pointed out as being the smuggler, his nationality was not released but since the ship sailed from Turkey he is most likely a Turk
/GBG/🟢 News about immigration will increase since its a hot topic due to the shipwreck. That being said 2023's summer has been predicted to be one of the worse since 2015 with immigration in early 2023 being the highest since 2015 and 2016 (post here, here and here)
🔴 France will grant 26 million Euros to Tunisia to deal with immigration
>https://archive.is/OXeAU
🔸 French Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanen, announced that France will grant Tunisia 25.8 Million Euros to assist the country train their police and border guards to combat immigration as well as purchase gear
‼️ This will be added to the other 105 Million Euros promised by the the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to the country for the same reason
🔸 This comes a few days after the EU promised 20 Million Euros to Egypt
/GBG/🟢 This new method of offering money to reduce immigration will lead to bigger problems and a blackmail-like situation just like Turkey does where these countries will be able to use immigration waves to demand more money or allow millions to flood Europe
🔴 37 illegal immigrants found on a Turkish island in the Evros river

🇬🇷 🗳 Hellenic Republic Elections
🎙 Post-game Edition
❗️ 📰 BREAKING: Former Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic and President of 🟣 SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, resigns from his position.
❌ After three successive defeats, and a downward trend to the popularity of his party and the left in general, Alexis Tsipras quits from his position of President of SYRIZA and Leader of Opposition in the Hellenic Parliament, after a speech in Zappeion Hall. The internal organs of the party will soon convene to elect a new leader.
Opinion: Shift to the Right
With the election results finalised, it's time for a, rather early admittedly, retrospective. But this will be a retrospective from the right, and not from the left. Undoubtedly, given this Sunday's results of leftist parties, especially SYRIZA, countless articles will be written, about false narratives and correlations, media control and the "rise of darkness". All missing the point. The left's reactions range from bitterly accusing the populace for not voting how they would have liked and wishing misery through poverty (see the reactions of a well known leftist businessman, who wished that benzine would reach the 5 euros per litre mark, purely because his favourite party did not win the elections).
That is not to mean that the nationalists have outright won. Far from it, endemic problems to the faction remain. But the narrative has shifted. Not even a decade ago, the centre was the far left. The average person would dare not question the irrepressible parochialism of "rights" of vocal minorities that trampled upon the ideas of faith, fatherland and family. Now the centre has shifted to the right. New Democracy's resounding victory marks the end of post-dicatotorship era. An era that the left undoubtedly dominated in the politics and culture of our fatherland from 1974 onwards. All artists, writers, musicians were leftist idealogues. And that is now over. The continuous shift to the left ended with a lurching shift to the right. And the biggest mark of that is not the policies of New Democracy themselves, which are, by all accounts, socially and economically liberal, with hints of conservatism and light patriotism. It's the fact that in the speeches preceding Sunday's final round of elections, New Democracy's leader, Kyriakos Mitsotakis recognised that the opposition is no longer the left, SYRIZA or PASOK. The lead of the opposition is now to the right of New Democracy. The new entrants to the parliament were all that were discussed by commentators and in the offices of New Democracy. SYRIZA has crumbled, and is now heading for a period of internal strife, after losing further in the second round, while PASOK has failed to capitalise on the further drop in SYRIZA's popularity, with their result stagnating.
While the quality of the nationalist parties that have entered the parliament still remains to be seen, the reality is that the talking points of the nationalists have entered the centre. And it is the centre that produces governing parties and creates legislation. Further pressure from the right of New Democracy means that New Democracy themselves will be forced to adopt talking points, ideas and perhaps legislation from their right, and with the crucial local government elections that are coming in October, they will find themselves in that position sooner rather than later, when sensitive border areas of Hellas, like Evros, Lesvos and Kastellorizo and then the centre of Athens have found themselves amidst the problems created by the unchecked immigration and the demographic issue.
🇩🇪🇫🇷🇪🇺 Enormous power grab: Germany, France want to end veto rights in the EU this year.
In what may be the beginning of the end for European nations, Germany and France are determined to reform national rights, including the EU right of veto, this year. The debate has caused a stir in recent months, and in recent weeks, the measure has been put back on the agenda.
France and Germany are convinced that a large-scale institutional reform of the European Union, including the abolition of the veto on European Council votes, could be achieved this year, French EU Affairs Minister Laurence Boone and German Minister of State Anna Lührmann told Euractiv.
The two ministers said that both countries consider it important to abolish unanimous voting in the European Council in areas such as foreign policy and taxation before the enlargement of the European Union. This could mean, for example, that Brussels would be able to implement a flat tax rate across the EU or even involve itself more deeply in the war, both moves that Hungary has rejected and in some cases even deployed its veto to stop.
Paris and Berlin claim abolishing the veto is a change that is possible without amending the EU treaties, a point hotly contested by a number of European parties, as it would not only give Brussels enormous power but also the largest states, such as Germany and France. This would subsequently allow for the EU to enact a liberal immigration policy, green rules and various other progressive goals without any hindrance from Hungary and other smaller, conservative nations.
Laurence Boone told Euractiv that this would be “an important step toward greater integration and efficiency.”

🔴 145 illegal immigrants "rescued" from a Greek islet in the Evros river yesterday
>https://archive.is/wip/PhjOJ
🔸 The group was in the same location as another one last week, showing yet again the new tactics of the smugglers that have been using "forced rescue" to put immigrants in a position that the authorities must rescue them to reduce their work of crossing the border entirely and also reduce the risk of more smugglers getting arrested
🔸 So far the only information is that many minors would be among the group, although there are no specifics on how many are men, women, children or their nationalities since they are still being identified and processed by the authorites
@GreekBordersGeneral
/GBG/ 🗂
And let's continue the previous post with the smaller four players:
🧭 Hellenic Solution - Kyriakos Velopoulos: A party that came to prominence in the aftermath of the banning of Golden Dawn, claims the space from the right of New Democracy up to the far-right, as a patriotic, nationalist party.
🔸 The leader, Kyriakos Velopoulos, was for years a telemarketer on smaller television stations, giving opinion pieces, selling books about or inspired by Hellenic culture and history, as well as various dubious Christian items, such as letters from Jesus Christ and wax creams that claim to solve all ailments. Not a lot of genuine political positions.
🟠 MeRA25: The Greek branch of the European DiEM25, led by Yanis Varoufakis, the co-founder of the European movement.
🔸 Yanis Varoufakis, an international economist, known also for (at least partly) designing Valve's Steam virtual economy, participated in the first six months of the SYRIZA government, from January to August of 2015, as minister of finance.
🔸 His attempts to negotiate the terms of the deal with ECB and IMF led to yet another bailout, with worse terms than the ones proposed, when the threat of a "Grexit" and a return to the national currency backfired due to lacklustre planning. The party itself centers around leftist, internationalist and pan-European ideas, with no concrete plans and an attitude of student protest, that also characterised the early days of SYRIZA.
☦️ NIKH: A new party, led by theologian Dimitrios Natsios.
🔸 The party has released a surprisingly detailed programme, especially when it comes to education. The results of the first elections of 2023 surprised everyone, when ΝΙΚΗ almost made it to the parliament, and
surpassed MeRA25, which participated in the previous parliament.
🔸 A strong focus on the "Faith, Fatherland, Family" triptych, with mandatory Orthodox Christian education for all children. The party does not accept incumbent politicians or freemasons at its ranks. To participate, you have to be Greek and Orthodox Christian.
💜 Plefsi Eleftherias (Course of Freedom): Founded by the former SYRIZA member and President of the Hellenic Parliament, Zoe Konstantopoulou.
🔸 While the members all come from various leftist parties and organisations, she has tried to distance the ideological position of the party, instead trying to pass it off as an anti-establishment organisation seeking justice (notably for the WWII reparations), heavily relying on her own as a lawyer.
🔸 Came surprisingly close to entering the parliament in the first elections of 2023, after which, the founder curiously replaced the top performers of the elections with either celebrities or, in one case, her civil partner.
