I am not a big fan of leveraged shorts/longs, but here's a tip that almost no one is talking about, which can help you make more $$$
- If you want to short a big altcoin with its own blockchain (for example, $SOL, SETH, $SUI, $BNB, etc.), don't short the token itself but short the smaller meme tokens on that blockchain instead.
For example, if I want to short SOL, I look for medium-sized tokens on that blockchain which have perpetual futures available on exchanges like HTX, MEXC, or BYBIT, and short them instead.
Usually, the risk is lower, and the profits are higher, especially when their main liquidity pool is paired with the chain's token rather than USDT/USDC.
- If you want to long a big altcoin (SOL, ETH, SUI, etc.), look for the biggest meme token on that blockchain that has perpetual futures and long that instead. If you remember, that's what I did when the bull market started, and I longed all the leaders on all the chains (BRETT, BONK, etc.).
The percentage of profits is much higher, and it usually moves much faster.
Keep in mind that leveraged trading is super(!) risky, but this method helped me always to outperform
