Well, I don’t think I can contribute much time on the software side since I’m already a working professional. I was mostly just looking for a non-Android alternative, and since I already use Ubuntu on my desktop, it felt more convenient and cohesive to have Linux on my phone too. But thanks anyway for the insights!

Hi all,
I was wondering if there’s any ongoing or planned effort to support the Xiaomi Mi A3 (laurel_sprout) on Halium 11.0. I’m looking to run Ubuntu Touch on it and understand that Halium 11 is the suitable base for that.

I’m not a dev myself, just an end user interested in a de-Googled, Linux-based phone. I’ve flashed ROMs before but have no experience with porting.

Would really appreciate any guidance or resources to get started. Thanks a lot!
