if you know what you're doing maybe, best use an existing base like Droidian etc though

what if such condition also been satisfied? is it possible to build another linux distro based on project halium and with webgl enabled?
Читать полностью…
as I mentioned if the kernel version is v5.4 or above probably

you'd still need unlockable bootloader, also it has more to do with GKI (v5.4+ kernel) than Halium version really, and messing with a device like that without stock firmware/sources available online can be a good way to brick it if you're not careful

you shouldn't need to build halium for that. you should only need to rebuild the custom kernel for porting, as it came with android 10 originally so should have treble support

Realistically I just want a system that boots properly lol

I've noticed the degree of which you can modify things changes from phone to phone. The Pixel 3a is a lot more modifiable where as the Fairphone 5's partitioning style makes it annoying.

Try changing the UI like a regular Linux desktop. Sure you can run a vm but it's not the same.

audio being broken in mainline is a known issue and the codecs need to be implemented

And neither are 'locked down' afaict what do mean with that?

you'd have to port it, there doesn't seem to be someone who already put the work into getting it running yet. also for Android 9+ devices you should disregard all Halium website docs and instead follow https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/porting/introduction/index.html which eventually should both lead you to the right telegram group to continue this discussion as well as standalone kernel porting method you'd follow

i am asking because recently i had bought an secondary nokia 2720 flip

it would make patching flaws in vendor prebuilt modules extra annoying/impossible though so you better hope they already work the way you want

ok, if i got the bootloader unlocked, and i dont had sourcecode of kernel and driver from the vendor, would it possible?

hi thanks for creating this lovely project, i came here for asking a question on project arch, here is it
since google required all android 13+ devices should ensure the full support for GSI for passing the certification, could project halium based on this to build a special impl for GSI , would that not require the vendor providing sourcecode for kernel and drivers?
Even just getting it to tty without worrying about all the other boot time modifications.

Try referencing their documentation— ever since halium 9 it is no longer neccesary to build halium as a porter

That has nothing to do with lomiri, and everything to do with the distro— try changing the DE in popos ;)

Wayland would be fun and that does work on Mobian too but the issues with the mainline kernel.
Читать полностью…
first off Mobian uses mainline kernel, not the downstream kernel

i don't believe audio has much to do with mir or lomiri.......
