This system involved a form of bonded labor in which approximately 3.5 million Indians were relocated to various British colonies across the globe to supply labor for British-owned plantations.Indians were taken to several British colonies, including places like Fiji, Mauritius, the Caribbean (Trinidad, Guyana, Jamaica), South Africa, and Southeast Asia, among others.
