Dear Community 💛

The day has come! – We're about to open up our latest release: Monte Rosa. 🇨🇭

To allow for incremental scaling, we have temporarily implemented a network registry with 30 slots for community access. This has been necessary because in previous releases, thousands of enthusiastic community members would join in the first hours and the nodes would stop functioning because of the load.

As we reach our stability thresholds we hope to rapidly increase the number of available slots and also spin up parallel networks. 🚀

If you'd like to be one of the first 30 people to access Monte Rosa and earn rewards make sure to have
👉 staked at least 1,000 HOPR

If you participated in the Monte Rosa release and staked in season 4 you are eligible for our new Monte Rosa NFT! 🤩

All you have to do is restake in season 5, and you will be sent a ranked NFT next week depending on how well your node performed over the last couple of weeks.

NFTs will have the following boosts:
👉 Diamond 15%
👉 Gold 12.5%
👉 Silver 11%
👉 Bronze 10%

🚨 IMPORTANT: If you do not restake in season 5, your node will be removed from the network registry and unable to keep participating in the release.

You must restake between October 26th, 2 pm and Sunday, October 30th, Midnight CEST, to maintain eligibility.

During this transition period between October 26th, 2 pm until Sunday, October 30th, Midnight CEST, the pingbot will be paused, and the new round of the release will start on Monday, October 31st.

The next round comes with new rewards and more slots for participants! 🎉🎉🎉

The waitlist for this will be updated soon with new signups, and further information will be released soon, so be patient!

Staking Season 5 is upon us! Starting tomorrow, 2 pm CEST running until January 26th, 2 pm CEST 🎉

To claim your remaining rewards and unlock your stake, visit https://stake-s4.hoprnet.org once the season has ended and follow the instructions from our blog.

To better balance the reward distribution to favour active community members:
👉 the base rate has been reduced to 2.5% ⬇️ 
👉 boost cap for NFTs has been raised to 200,000 ⬆️

As we move through the staking seasons, older NFTs are discontinued. For this season, only NFTs from Seasons 3, 4 and 5 will be eligible – Their boosts remain the same. Find the full list of discontinued NFTs in our blog.

BUT season 5 will have its own NFTs! 👏

These will be more focused on node running to
👉 better reflect the current state of the protocol
👉 support our ongoing transition to HOPR’s final form, where rewards will be entirely linked to node running with the HOPR network
