This Nowruz celebration is scheduled for Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 3:00 to 8:30 PM at the Meridian Art Center, 5040 Yonge Street, in the heart of North York. Doors open at 2:00 p.m.
✨For those who will join us tomorrow at our event, here are a few things to remember ☺️
1. There will be a 5$ fee for coat check you can either pay in cash in person or e-transfer to the account mentioned in the post ahead of your arrival
2.We’ll start the registration process at 4:30 and finish at 5:30pm. Please make sure to arrive on time as we close the auditorium’s doors at 6 right before performance starts.
3.No late entries will be permitted after 6 pm.

Music within the Iranian Social Context from the 1979 Revolution to “Woman, Life, Freedom” Movement

Dariush Azar, with extensive experience in playing, singing, music composition, teaching, and successful collaboration with renowned Iranian musicians and bands such as Mohammad Reza Shajarian, Homayoun Shajarian, Pallet Band, and Dang Show, is hosting the first discussion session in Canada at McGill University on the main following subjects:
1. The scientific and emotional aspects of music in influencing the audience, with the performance of motifs and figures
2. The effects and place of music in the 1979 Iranian Revolution with the performance of some revolutionary songs.
3. The impact and place of music in the Woman Life Freedom movement, with the performance of some prevalence songs
4. The examination of internalization process and personalization of thoughts in music composition, with the performance of Dariush Azar's songs.
Interested individuals can register for this analytical session, which will include questions and answers and music performances, by filling the registration form.
✨Learn Farsi with UTIRAN and UBCPC!
📝We are so excited to announce that our next term of Farsi classes in collaboration with the UBC Persians club (@ubcpc ) will be starting soon!
💡In these classes, students can learn Farsi based on their own level of proficiency. Four levels will be offered this year:
1️⃣Beginners for non-Faris speakers looking to learn the basic conversational Farsi
2️⃣Pre-intermediate for those looking to begin reading and writing Farsi while advancing their speaking skills
3️⃣Intermediate for those looking to gain confidence and practice their overall Farsi skills
4️⃣Advance for confident speakers hoping to delve into the world of great Persian poets and more complex conversations.
✨All students are welcome!
🚨This term will last 6 weeks with an hour-long class once a week.
