I understand your logic, but that calculation wouldn't work for several reasons:
Why "pip value × market cap" doesn't apply:
1. Pip value is position-specific: A pip in XAU/USD is worth different amounts depending on your trade size ($10 for a micro lot, $1,000 for a standard lot, etc.). There's no single universal "pip value."
2. Gold doesn't have a traditional market cap: Unlike stocks, gold as a commodity doesn't have shares outstanding. The total value of all gold ever mined is estimated around $12-15 trillion, but this isn't relevant to forex market movement.
