IDF: Protecting Israel’s Skies: Long-Range Aerial Threats Thwarted by the Israeli Air Force in Defensive Missions
Since the beginning of the war, the IAF’s Command and Control Array and the Fighter Array have been identifying long-range threats and hostile targets. The Command and Control System is constantly building an Aerial assessment that synchronizes hundreds of aircraft over a dense combat zone, as well as the threats of hostile aircraft and cruise missiles.
Following a precise identification, the confirmation of a threat and the activation of forces, a number of cruise missiles launched into the State of Israel’s airspace have been successfully intercepted. IAF Command and Control Array and Fighter Array personnel identified the targets, tracked their trajectories and activated the Air Force, including fighter jets and additional means, to thwart the aerial threats.

“Since the Hamas massacre of October 7th, Hezbollah has been increasing its attacks against Israel: firing rockets, missiles and drones; killing Israeli civilians and soldiers;

Since Hezbollah began its attacks, the IDF has been responding by striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

Joint IDF and ISA announcement:
The IDF and ISA eliminated Hamas’ Shejaiya Battalion Commander, who was responsible for the killing of six IDF soldiers during “Operation Protective Edge” and sent Hamas “Nukhba” terrorists to Kibbutz Nahal Oz and the Nahal Oz IDF post on October 7th
Earlier today, following precise IDF and ISA intelligence, IAF fighter jets eliminated Hamas’ Shejaiya Battalion Commander, Wessam Farhat.
Farhat began his command over the battalion in 2010 and commanded it during Operation “Protective Edge” - during which he ordered terrorists to target IDF soldiers in Shejaiya, including a dual attack that resulted in the deaths of six IDF soldiers.
He took part in the planning of the October 7th massacre, during which, he directed Hamas “Nuhkba” terrorists to infiltrate the Nahal Oz Kibbutz and IDF post. In addition, Farhat was one of the masterminds of the 2002 terror attack on Mechinat Atzmona, in which five Israeli civilians were killed. Moreover, he was one of the masterminds of the anti-tank missile terror attack on a civilian bus in Nahal Oz in 2011, in which an Israeli child was killed.
In 1995, while he was on his way to carry out a suicide attack in Israel, Farhat was apprehended by security forces and imprisoned in an Israeli prison for ten years. Following his return to Gaza, he worked in rocket production for the Hamas terrorist organization.
Since the beginning of the war, the IDF and ISA have significantly degraded the Shejaiya Battalion’s capabilities, including the elimination of their senior commanders and the striking of terror infrastructure and weapons.
IDF: A short while ago, IAF fighter jets struck terrorist infrastructure used by the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanese territory.
In addition, a number of launches toward the area near the border with Lebanon were identified. In response, the IDF is striking the sources of the launches with artillery fire.

IDF: Following the sirens sounded in northern Israel, a short while ago, the IDF Aerial Defense Array successfully intercepted a suspicious aerial target that crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory. A siren indicating rocket fire sounded as a result of shrapnel from the interception.
Furthermore, a number of launches from Lebanon toward the area of Ya'ara in northern Israel were identified this morning.
This morning, IDF artillery struck in Lebanese territory. In addition, IDF soldiers and aircraft struck an anti-tank missile terrorist cell in Lebanon.
IDF: The IDF is continuing to operate against Hamas terrorist infrastructure and operatives in the Gaza Strip
During IDF operational activity in Jabalya, IDF troops located 5,000,000 NIS worth of funds designated for terrorist activity inside a senior Hamas terrorist’s residence. The funds were found in suitcases alongside numerous weapons.
IDF troops also struck terrorist infrastructure where weapons were located, including explosive devices, military equipment, and RPGs. A cache of mortars and ammunition was also located in the basement of the structure. Terror tunnel shafts and launch pits in the area were also destroyed.
Yesterday (Sunday), an IAF aircraft identified a suspicious terrorist cell entering Hamas terrorist infrastructure in the Khan Yunis area. IDF ground troops then directed an IAF helicopter to strike and eliminate the cell.
IDF troops also located a sniper in a compound in Khan Yunis. The troops directed an IDF aircraft to strike and kill the sniper.
Over the past day, IDF naval forces struck Hamas terror targets and supported the ground troops’ activity along the coast of the Gaza Strip.

IDF: Documentation of operational activity by the 551st Reserve Brigade's Combat Team on the outskirts of Jabalya
The reservists of the 551st Brigade Combat Team completed their task in the area surrounding Jabalya. During the activity, which began before the operational pause, the soldiers located and destroyed operational tunnel shafts of the Hamas terrorist organization. One tunnel shaft, located in the courtyard of a school complex had a depth of dozens of meters. Another operational tunnel shaft was located in the home of an operative from Hamas’ naval force.
The soldiers, in cooperation with special forces, worked to neutralize the underground infrastructure and they secured and isolated the areas to the north of Jabalya.
As part of the activity, the soldiers neutralized terrorists, while cooperating with the IAF and the brigade’s intelligence and fire teams. In addition, the soldiers of the brigade destroyed enemy capabilities and terrorist targets, and seized a large amount of military equipment, including weapons, grenades, explosives, launchers and ammunition.
