In the future, it is expected that there will be a higher proportion of older people in some countries.
Is this a positive or negative development.
With the advancements in medicine, life expectancy has increased in many parts of the world. It is predicted that the number of older people will rise significantly in near future. While I admit the benefits older people can bring to society, this is an unfavorable change overall.
There are a number of positive effects associated with the higher number of elderly people in society. One is the opportunity for them to pass on their knowledge, experience, wisdom and expertise to the next generation. Older people often possess a wealth of life experience, which may be valuable for guiding younger generations. Apart from this, in many cultures, older people play a crucial role in providing support to their families. For example, they can take care of grandchildren, which may allow parents to focus on other responsibilities.
In my opinion, however, the ever-increasing number of older people in many countries brings about several problems. Firstly, they can become a major financial burden on a county’s budged. Most of them are unable to work after a certain age and the government should provide financial assistance to them in the form of pensions. Another issue is that as most old people require constant medical attention, the government has to allocate resources to maintaining quality health care. This can put a strain on the government’s resources in the long run.
In conclusion, although older people help younger generations in many ways, the increasing number of them is a negative trend as they can strain the government’s budged.

During the lessons, I usually show students what band 8-9 essays look like.
Yesterday, however, they asked me to write a band 7 essay. So, here it is.
Amir started my courses back in last summer, when he joined the Pre-IELTS course.
He studied in my Pre-IELTS course for 2 months
And then in my IELTS 7+ course for 3 months.
An overall 7.0 with 8.5 in listening 👀👀
That is an amazing achievement!

I'm just trying to raise awareness of a common problem in writing task 2 and address it once and for all.
If you are a teacher, you might be teaching it wrong(like I once did)
If you are a student, you might be learning it wrong.
I am not saying I am better than all of you. I'm just drawing your attention so we can learn something useful.
Plus, you dont have to take my advice. If you can prove that I'm wrong, you are welcome but if you cant, sit and listen:)

If your teacher keeps using fancy, strange words during the lesson, they’re not teaching, they are showing off or have no idea what they are talking about
Some of these words include: outline sentence, thesis statement
It’s been a long time since I stopped using band descriptors during the lessons as they contain too much terminology and showing those to students have no use.
Instead, I usually give analogies from real life to explain a situation. Always, try to speak a language that students understand.
