Pick a random IELTS writing task 2 question. And brainstorm some main ideas.
For this post I chose the following essay. Do the advantages of space exploration outweigh the disadvantages?
MAIN IDEA 1: One of the downsides of space exploration is that it can be a waste of important resources.
After you have written the topic sentence, send the following prompt to ChatGPT:
I need to develop this idea for IELTS writing task 2. To develop the idea, there are some questions below. Answer some of these questions(not all of them necessarily). Dont make it overly complicated. Dont give full sentences. just promps using 3-4 words:
How?
Why?
What’s the result?
Can I give any examples?
Can I compare this to anything?
So what?
What do I mean this?
ChatGPT will produce something like this:

TASK 2 Idea development.
Extending your ideas in Task 2 is very important if you’re aiming for a higher score in TASK RESPONSE. But oftentimes, students find it difficult to develop their ideas or they end up repeating the same thing. How do you know if you have developed your ideas well enough?
I often ask the following questions after presenting a main idea:
How? Why? What do you mean by this? What is the result? So what? Can you give any examples? can you compare this to anything?
If you answer some of these questions, then most likely you have developed your ideas to score 7+ in TASK RESPONSE
