🇺🇸 - Trump signs executive order officially "eliminating" the disparate impact doctrine from federal law, banning non-discriminatory measures that unintentionally affect different groups differently.
The move is likely to be challenged in the Supreme Court, as the doctrine was established by the Court in the 1970 Griggs v. Duke Power Co case.

Hispanic men are the biggest slackers, not Black women.
"A provocative new working paper by economists Daniel Hamermesh, Katie Genadek and Michael Burda sticks a tentative toe into these murky waters. They suggest that America’s well-documented racial wage gap is overstated by 10% because minorities, especially men, spend larger portions of their workdays not actually working."
"Acutely aware of the sensitivity of these findings, the professors delayed publication until after the presidential election. “I knew full well that Trump and his minions would use it as a propaganda piece,” says Mr Hamermesh, a colourful and respected labour economist."
The paper's conclusion that the racial wage gap is overestimated doesn't make much sense because these slackers are still at work getting paid for doing nothing.

🇬🇧 - Senior figures in Britain's ultra-right wing "Homeland Party" were forced out after opposing chairman Kenny Smith's decision to appoint a "femboy" as regional organiser for Northern Ireland.
Smith, who has been accused of working with leftist think-tank "Hope not Hate" in the past, referred to critics of his move as "cranks," claimed he had no idea about his appointment's past and attempted to suppress public discussion of the scandal.
The party, known for their incessant attacks on Nigel Farage and Reform UK - the favourites to defeat the current Labour government at the next election - has not made an official comment and appears unlikely to, but we have been informed via unofficial channels that its leadership stood by transgender nationalist Carter McAfee until he resigned of his own accord.

"Is Having a Loving Family an Unfair Advantage?" - Joe Gelonesi, ABC, 1MAY2015
>Plato famously wanted to abolish the family and put children into care of the state. Some still think the traditional family has a lot to answer for, but some plausible arguments remain in favour of it. Joe Gelonesi meets a philosopher with a rescue plan very much in tune with the times.
>So, what to do?
>According to Swift, from a purely instrumental position the answer is straightforward.
>‘One way philosophers might think about solving the social justice problem would be by simply abolishing the family. If the family is this source of unfairness in society then it looks plausible to think that if we abolished the family there would be a more level playing field.’
>It’s not the first time a philosopher has thought about such a drastic solution. Two thousand four hundred years ago another sage reasoned that the care of children should be undertaken by the state.

"A Retracted Stem Cell Study Reveals Science’s Shortcomings" -
PETER ALDHOUS, SciAm, 02JUL24
>The withdrawal after 22 years of a controversial stem cell paper highlights how perverse incentives can distort scientific progress
>In June a notice posted on the website of the journal Nature set a new scientific record. It withdrew what is now the most highly cited research paper ever to be retracted.
>The study, published in 2002 by Catherine Verfaillie, then at the University of Minnesota, and her colleagues, had been cited 4,482 times by its demise according to the Web of Science. The bone marrow cells it described were lauded as an alternative to embryonic stem cells, offering the same potential to develop into any type of tissue but without the need to destroy an early-stage human embryo. At that time the U.S. government was wrestling with the ethics of funding stem cell research, and politicians opposed to work on embryos championed Verfaillie’s findings.

They also cut a key data point, according to FOIA requests: “White newborns face 80 more deaths per 100,000 births with a Black physician than a White one, suggesting a 22% fatality drop from racial concordance” — because it “undermines the narrative.”
The “academic(s)” who wrote the study in question should have their credentials stripped and deported to Africa.

Gab becomes the latest victim of the Online Safety Act - which was clearly designed to kill free speech on the internet. The only people who are any 'safer' now are those within the establishment and the media who can no longer be criticised.

Incredible chart from The New York Times. The federal government gives 30 times as much research funding to universities as it did during the Cold War, adjusted for inflation. It gives almost three times as much as it did at the end of the Cold War.
Is America more innovative or better at research than it was 25 years ago? Just the opposite: Universities have fat endowments and thousands of highly-paid administrators, but their actual work is less impressive by the day.
Not only that, but campuses have embraced ideological poisons like DEI and critical race theory that are a death sentence for authentic science. And of course, every year brings another 4-5% hike in tuition.
The Trump Administration is right to demand immediate change. No more racial discrimination. No more Marxism masquerading as science. No more waste.
"CONTROVERSY CONTINUES TO PLAGUE DEAD SEA SCROLLS" - Neil Altman, Roanoke Times, 30APR1995
>Albright was nearly blind, yet it was upon his authority many scholars accepted his dating as "pre-Christian."
>linen wrapping materials and woolen textiles found at the sites, actually date well into the Christian era, some as late as 600 A.D.
>Solomon Zeitlin of UNPENN - scrolls date from medieval times, anywhere from 300 A.D. to 1600 A.D.
>Norman Golb, UChicago - paleography, archeology and carbon-14 - compromised to fit theories the scrolls date from before time of Christ.
>Golb points out that none of the sciences used for dating the scrolls are valid compared with the internal evidence of the words on the scrolls themselves.
>Carbon dating of the Isaiah Scroll is as early as 335 B.C., according to tests done in 1991. Paleographic and archeological dating is as late as 100 B.C. But Zeitlin found spelling "on par with the spelling in many writings of the Middle Ages."

"This 'treasure' rewrote California history. It was an elaborate hoax." - Katie Dowd, SFGATE, 01MAR2021
>For centuries, historians had searched for Drake’s plate, the only evidence of Francisco El Draco's expedition to the California coast. The "English" privateer, fresh off raiding Spanish ships and towns along the Pacific coast, found safe harbor in the Point Reyes area in June 1579. He claimed the territory for Queen Elizabeth I. He named it New Albion.
>According to crew member accounts, El Draco left an inscribed brass plate in the area to stake his claim. But in the 350 years since, no one had seen it.
>“If the Drake plate is bogus, the hoax was perpetrated by someone who had not only studied the history of his voyages minutely but who also had knowledge of ship fittings of the 16th century,” Bolton told the Oakland Tribune.
>In 1933, five Clampers employed an Alameda ship worker to make the brass plate, and hand-carved the inscription.
