💠Sometimes, Allaah makes the wrongdoers turn on each other because of their evil deeds. And Allaah may exact revenge from an oppressor through another oppressor; then He تعالى will punish all of them.

{Thus do We place some sinners over others as requital for their deeds.}
📚[Surah al-Anaam (6): 129]

👉Al-Tabaree رحمه الله mentioned that one of the interpretations of this Aayah is:
“We set some oppressors against others.”
📚[Jaami
al-Bayaan (12/119)]

👉Ibn Katheer رحمه الله mentioned in his Tafseer:
Maalik Ibn Deenar said:
“I read in al-Zaboor (Psalms): “I will take revenge on the hypocrites through (another set of) hypocrites, then I will take revenge on all the hypocrites.” And this is found in the Book of Allaah, in His saying: {And similarly We empower some oppressors over others – the recompense of their deeds.}

A poet once said:
“There is no hand, but Allaah’s Hand is above it…
And no oppressor will be tested except by another oppressor.”

The meaning of this noble Aayah thus becomes: “Just as We made this losing group of mankind supporters of the Jinns that misguided them, We also appoint the wrongdoers over one another, destroy them by the hands of one another, and take revenge from them with one another. This is the just recompense for their injustice and transgression.”
📚[End of quote from Tafseer Ibn Katheer]

👉Tafseer Muyassar:
Just as We have given power to the devils among the Jinn over the disbelieving people, and they were their allies, We will give power to the wrongdoers among mankind over one another in this world because of the sins they commit.
📚[Tafseer Muyassar (1/144)]

👉Imaam Maalik رحمه الله said:
“Allaah may exact revenge from an oppressor through another oppressor; then He تعالى will take revenge from all of them.”
📚[Haashiyah al-Saawee (4/428), al-Maosooatul-Aqeedah (8/89)]

👉Alee Ibn Ghathaam said:
“It used to be said: ‘Allaah does not take revenge on a people except through those who are more evil than them’.”
📚[Taareekh Damishq of Ibn
Assakir (35/415)]

👉The Prophet ﷺ said:
❝…and Allaah may support this religion (i.e., Islaam) even with a wicked (disobedient) man.❞
📚[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (3062, 4203, 6606) and Saheeh Muslim (205)]

O Allaah! Make the oppressors be preoccupied with the oppressors (i.e., turn them on each other) and bring us out from among them safely.

Aqeedah is the essence of the Deen. It is through Aqeedah that we learn:

1 ) “Who to worship?” [Tawheed al-Asmaa was-Sifaat]
2 ) “Why to worship?” [Tawheed al-Ruboobiyah]
3 ) And “How to worship?” [Tawheed al-Uloohiyah]

Or in other words, through
Aqeedah we learn:

A ) “What Allaah does” [Tawheed al-Ruboobiyah]
B ) “What we have to do” [Tawheed al-Uloohiyah]
C ) “How Allaah is identified” [Tawheed al-Asmaa was-Sifaat]

Can you imagine?

We are living in a time when all the sins of the earlier generations have come together - the sins of the people of Noah, Firaun, Loot, Haamaan, and Qaaroon, yet Allaah تعالى is merciful to all of us.

We are living in an age that seems worse than Jaahiliyyah, but the scary thing is that Allaah تعالى will not send another Prophet or Messenger to guide us or rectify our affairs!

And scarier than this is that the people are arguing, questioning, doubting, and denying the very foundation of this Deen!

People do not care about the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, except those upon whom our Lord has mercy.

May Allaah have mercy on us and rectify our affairs. The most clear Aayah that describes our situation is:

اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ
{Mankind’s reckoning has drawn near, while they turn away in heedlessness}
[Surah al-Anbiyaa (21):1]

More than 1,400 years have passed since this Aayah was revealed, and the passing of every moment is bringing us closer and closer to the Day of Judgment, yet we are drowning in our heedlessness.

As the poet said:
People are in their heedlessness...
…while the millstone of death is grinding.

Shaikh al-Sa
dee رحمه الله commented on this Aayah, saying:
“This is an expression of amazement at people’s attitude and at the fact that no reminder moves them, and they do not pay any attention to any warner, for their reckoning has drawn near and the requital for their deeds, both good and bad, is at hand, but they are turning away in heedlessness, paying no attention to the purpose for which they were created, ignoring that of which they have been warned as if they were created for this world and were born merely to enjoy physical pleasures therein. Allaah keeps renewing the reminder and exhortation to them, but they persist in their negligence and turning away.” [1]

A lot of people are living in heedlessness and ignorance. Many people are behaving like there is no questioning in the grave, no Resurrection, no Judgment, no Reckoning, that they will not be held accountable to Allaah سبحانه وتعالى for their actions!

In our time, there has been an ever increase in the number of men who behave like Dayyooth (cuckold) [2]. Immorality, foolishness, chaos, disorder, confusion, and ignorance are on the rise. There are women who are behaving like men and men who are behaving like women!

May Allaah have mercy on us, we should ever increase in our supplication:

يَا مُقَلِّبَ القُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قُلُوبُنَا عَلَى دِينِكَ
❝O Controller of the hearts, keep our hearts firm upon Your religion.❞ [3]

O Allaah! Grant us a good end.

O Allaah! Forgive us, have mercy on us, and rectify our affairs.

May Allaah show us the truth as truth and help us to follow it. And may Allaah show us the falsehood as falsehood and help us to shun it.

Notes:
[1] Tafseer al-Sa`dee

[2] Dayyooth (a man with no protective jealousy for his wife/daughter/sister. He is the one who approves of evil conduct in his family. He allows them to intermingle with non-Mahram men. He sees them doing something objectionable but does not feel bad or stop them.)

The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝There are three at whom Allaah will not look at on the Day of Resurrection:
1) The one who disobeys his parents,
2) the woman who imitates men in her outward appearance,
3) and the Dayyooth (cuckold).
And there are three who will not enter Paradise:
1) The one who disobeys his parents,
2) the drunkard,
3) and the one who reminds people of what he has given them.❞
[Sunan al-Nasaa’ee (2562) and graded as “Hasan Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

[3] Sunan al-Tirmidhee and Sunan Ibn Maajah, and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. Anas رضي الله عنه narrated that Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ used to say this quite frequently.

You completed your recitation of the Qur’aan but the Imaam has still not gone into Rukoo

QUESTION: In the silent prayers [1], if the one who is praying completes his recitation of Surah al-Faatihah and another Surah with it, and the Imaam has still not gone into Rukoo (bowing), should he remain silent?

🎓Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen:
❝No! The Ma'moom (the one who is being led in prayer) should not remain silent even if he had completed his recitation of Surah al-Faatihah and another Surah with it before the Imaam went into Rukoo. He should keep reciting till the Imaam makes the Rukoo. Even if it were the last two Rakaaat after the first Tashahhud [2], and he has completed the recitation of Surah al-Faatihah but the Imaam has not gone into Rukoo, he should recite another Surah thereafter until the Imaam goes into Rukoo. This is because one is not to remain silent in the prayers except when the Ma'moom is listening to the recitation of the Imaam.❞

(2/2)
Instead of having a private meeting with Him, we make it an open meeting for all kinds of thoughts and daydreams, our mind wandering everywhere - while we are in this private conversation with our Lord. Physically, we are present, but mentally, we are absent.

He wants us to get away from everything for a few minutes, rest our bodies and minds, and disconnect ourselves a little from the chaotic world and the worries of life so that we can adequately express our complaints and concerns to Him سبحانه وتعالى and no one else.

He, the Almighty Creator and Sustainer, is independent. He does not need us, our worship, or our time. He تعالى calls us and wants to hear our voices so that we pour our hearts out to Him; instead, we procrastinate. Then here we are, coming either sluggishly or in a hurry, as if we are coming to Him against our wills.

We are present yet absent!
We are there, but our mind is everywhere!

Then we rush out of the Masjid as if there is some competition on who will exit the Masjid first. What could be more shameful than this?!

After mentioning some of the Prophets and Messengers, Allaah تعالى said:

فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
{But there came after them successors who neglected the Ṣalaah and pursued (their) desires. So they will be thrown into Hell.}
[Surah Maryam (19):59]

It means they made their Ṣalaah (prayers) to be lost, either by not offering them at all or by not offering them perfectly or at their proper fixed times, etc.

Al-Haafidh Ibn Katheer رحمه الله mentioned in his Tafseer:
Al-Qaasim Ibn Mukhaymirah said concerning Allaah’s statement:

فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ
{Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have lost the Salaah}, “This means that they will not keep up with the proper times of the prayer because if it meant complete abandonment of the prayer, this would be Kufr (disbelief).”

It is also reported that it was said to Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه, “Allaah often mentions the prayer in the Qur’aan. He تعالى says:

{Who delay their Ṣalaah (prayer from their stated fixed times} (107:5)

And He تعالى says:

{Those who remain constant in their Salaah} (70:23)

And He تعالى says:

{Those who guard their Salaah}.” (23:9) Then, Ibn Mas
ood replied: “This means (offering prayers) at their designated times.” The people said: “We thought that this was referring to the abandonment of the prayer.” Ibn Masood replied: “That would be disbelief.”

Masrooq said: “The one who guards the five daily prayers will not be written among the heedless. Being neglectful leads to destruction. The neglect (in prayer) is delaying them past their fixed times.”

Al-Awzaa
ee reported from Ibraheem Ibn Zayd that Umar Ibn Abdul-Azeez recited the Ayah:

فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
{Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have lost the Salaah and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown into Hell}. Then, he (
Umar Ibn Abdul-Azeez) said: “Their loss was not their abandonment of the prayers, but it was by not offering them during their proper and prescribed times.”

🌺Complain to Allaah alone!
🎓By Shaikh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah

“al-Sabr al-Jameel” (the good patience الصَّبْرُ الْجَمِيلُ) is that patience in which there is no complaining (towards the creation). Yaqoob عليه السلام said:

{I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allaah}
📚[Surah Yusuf (12): 86]

Even though he also said:

﴿فَصَبْرٌ جَمِيلٌ وَاللَّهُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَى مَا تَصِفُونَ﴾

{So (for me) patience is most fitting. And it is Allah (Alone) Whose help can be sought against that which you assert}
📚[Surah Yusuf (12): 18]

Complaining to Allaah (about the harm that has befallen you) does not contradict or negate “the good patience”.

And whenever
Umar Ibn al-Khattaab رضي الله عنه used to recite in the Fajr prayer:

﴿إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّـهِ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللَّـهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ﴾

{I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allaah and I know from Allaah what you do not know}
📚[Surah Yusuf (12): 86]

He used to weep so profusely that his sobbing would be heard in the last rows.

(Complain to the Creator) instead of complaining to the creation!

(Complaining to the Creator is permissible) because the one who is complaining is doing so based on the situation he is in, either (beseeching Allaah) to remove the thing which is harming him, or seeking (from Allaah) that which is beneficial for him. A person has been commanded to beseech the Creator instead of the creation. Allaah تعالى said:

{So when you have finished (from your occupation), then stand up for Allaah’s worship (i.e. stand up for prayer). And to your Lord (Alone) turn (all your intentions and hopes and) your invocations.}
📚[Surah al-Sharh (94): 7-8]

And the Prophet ﷺ said to Ibn Abbaas رضي الله عنهما: ❝If you ask, then ask Allaah [alone]; and if you seek help, then seek help from Allaah [alone].❞
📚[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2516) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

And it is a must that a person should adhere to two things:
1) To do that which he has been commanded to do and to shun that which has been prohibited.
2) And to be patient when a thing which was Decreed befalls him.

The first is from Taqwaa (piety) and the second is patience (Sabr).

📚[Majmoo
al-Fataawa of Ibn Taymiyyah (10/666-667)]

🌴🌴🌴

👉[TN: The Prophet ﷺ also said to Ibn `Abbaas رضي الله عنهما: ❝And know that what has passed you by [and you have failed to attain] was not going to befall you, and what has befallen you was not going to pass you by. And know that victory comes with patience, and relief after affliction, and ease after hardship.❞

💠 Weak Hadeeth: Sleeping after Asr

Shaikh al-Albaanee رحمه الله mentioned in al-Dha
eefah (39):
On the authority of Aaishah رضي الله عنها, that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: ❝Whoever sleeps after Asr and loses his mind, then let him blame no one but himself.❞

Shaikh al-Albaanee graded this Hadeeth as ❝Daeef❞ (Weak).

Ibn Hibbaan mentioned this narration in his book: “al-Dhu
afaa’ wal-Majrooheen” (1/283) (the book of weak narrations).

Ibn al-Jawzee mentioned it in his book: “al-Maudhooaat” (3/69) (the book of weak and fabricated narrations) and said: ❝it is not authentic❞.

🎓 Shaikh al-Albaanee رحمه الله said:
Marwaan [ibn Muhammad al-Asadi] said: “I said to Layth ibn Sa
d – when I saw him sleep after Asr during the month of Ramadhaan: “O Abu al-Haarith! Why are you sleeping after Asr when Ibn Laheeah has told us … (and he mentioned this narration)?” Al-Layth said: ❝I do not give up something that is good for me because of the Hadeeth of Ibn Laheeah from Aqeel!❞”

I (al-Albaanee) say: ❝I am very much impressed by this answer of al-Layth, because it is indicative of his understanding and his knowledge (about the Deen), and no wonder, for he was one of the Imaams of the Muslims and amongst the well-known Fuqahaa’. I know that many of the Shaikhs today do not sleep after
Asr, even if they are in a need to do that. If it is said to them that the Hadeeth concerning that is Daeef, they will immediately respond by saying: “Weak Ahaadeeth should be followed with regard to virtuous actions”.
Look at the difference between the understanding of the Salaf (earlier generations) and the knowledge of the Khalaf (later generations).❞

eefah (39)]

First, in this issue, there are many scholars who expressed the same opinion as Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen, among them are Shaikh Ibn Baaz, Shaikh al-Fawzaan, and many other scholars.

Second, their opinion is based on the fact that there are only three instances in the Salaah where a person who is praying should pause:

A) after Takbeer al-Ihraam (the first Takbeer) and before reciting Surah al-Faatihah, this is where a person says Duaa al-Istiftaah.

B) after reciting Surah al-Faatihah and before beginning the other Surah, to differentiate between the two Surahs

C) after completing the recitation and before going into Rukoo (bowing), so that the Takbeer does not become part of the recitation.

These are the three places or instances where a person takes a pause, otherwise, the person should keep reciting as long as he is in the Qiyaam (standing position) before the Rukoo
(bowing).

💠 The thought that should embarrass us the most!

Indeed, prayers are a time-bounded obligation upon Muslims. The times of prayers are fixed hours, and the best deed a Muslim does is to offer the prayers at the beginning of their stated fixed times.

{Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers (to be offered) at specified times}
📚[Surah al-Nisaa’ (4):103]

Abdullaah Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه said: I asked the Prophet ﷺ: “Which deed is most loved by Allaah?” He ﷺ replied: ❝(To offer) the prayer at its proper time.❞ Then I asked: “What is the next (in goodness)?” He ﷺ replied: ❝To be good and dutiful to your parents.❞
📚[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (527, 5970, 7534) and Saheeh Muslim.

In al-Adab al-Mufrad, the very first Hadeeth that Imaam al-Bukhaaree reported is this one. As if to say that the foundation of all good manners begins with having good manners with Allaah]

In another narration, the wording is: ❝To offer the prayers at their stated fixed times.❞
📚[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (2782)]

Abdullaah Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه said: I asked the Prophet ﷺ: “Which of the actions is best?” He ﷺ replied: ❝To offer prayers at their early stated times.❞
📚[Saheeh Ibn Khuzaimah (327), Saheeh Ibn Hibbaan (1475, 1479), and al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak (674, 675) and said: “It is as per the conditions of al-Bukhaaree and Muslim,” and al-Dhahabee agreed with him]

Narrated Umm Farwah رضي الله عنها (the paternal sister of Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq): The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ was asked: “Which of the actions is best?” He ﷺ replied: ❝Prayer at its earliest time.❞
📚[Sunan Abu Dawood (426), and Sunan al-Tirmidhee (170) and graded as “Saheeh li ghairihee” by Shaikh al-Albaanee in Saheeh al-Targheeb (399)]

💢💢💢

The thought that should embarrass us the most should be about delaying prayers beyond their prescribed timings because we are not the ones who set the time for these prayers, nor are we the ones who chose the timings. It is Allaah سبحانه وتعالى, the Almighty Creator, Who decreed this and chose this.

Allaah - the One who created this universe with its greatness, vastness, and beauty; the One Who perfected it to its utmost perfection, and with the multitude of His creatures and numerous blessings - is the One Who wants us to stand before Him, speak to Him, and have a private conversation with Him.

And what do we do?

Oftentimes, we make this appointment our last priority and the least of our concerns, putting every other trivial matter before it until the time almost runs out!

Allaah تعالى asks us to stand before Him – while we are just an atom of weight in His vast universe – and instead, we busy ourselves with the absurdities of life and its worn-out adornments!

When we are called for a job interview, do we arrive late or on time? No, instead, we go there ahead of time!

We have more trust in the promises made by the creation and little in the promise made by the Creator:

وَعْدَ اللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ‎*‏ يَعْلَمُونَ ظَاهِرًا مِّنَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ الْآخِرَةِ هُمْ غَافِلُونَ
{(It is) a Promise of Allaah, and Allaah fails not in His Promise, but most of men know not. They know only the outside appearance of the life of the world (i.e., the matters of their livelihood), and they are heedless of the Hereafter.}
[Surah al-Room (30):6-7]

But when we are called for prayers in which there is our success in this world and the Hereafter:
حي على الصلاة حي على الفلاح
Come to prayer! Come to success!

Allaah تعالى only asks for a few minutes of our time, yet we ignore, procrastinate, delay, and postpone. Then, as a regular habit, we come to Him late. What misery is greater than that!!

Allaah سبحانه وتعالى invites us to have a closed – one to one – meeting between Him and us. He تعالى calls us because we are the ones in need, and He is al-Ghanee (Rich, free of all wants), the Most Generous.

5. The one who competes (with the Imaam) is threatened with transformation (of his head) to that of the donkey because there is a similarity between him and the donkey in their foolishness and stupidity. The one who competes, when he knows that he can not complete the Salaah before the Imaam (and leave), so all this hurrying up is of no benefit. This only proves his foolishness and weak understanding.

6. Competing with the Imaam is evidence that the person is in a hurry to finish the prayer, and this is a sickness. The one who does this should be reminded (and corrected).

7. The threat of changing the head, of the one who raises his head before the Imaam, to that of the donkey is a matter which is possible (like how the Banee Israa'eel were transformed into monkeys and pigs), but its occurrence has not been reported. There is a possibility that the changing of face can also mean the changing of nature, so that a person becomes unintelligent like a donkey.
