💠 You will be raised the way you lived or died in this world, and you will be rewarded accordingly:

🔊 The Prophet ﷺ said:

❝Verily, the (results of) deeds done, depend upon the last actions.❞
📚 [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (6943)]

🌴🌴🌴

👉 The one who devoted his time in memorizing and reciting the Qur'aan, will made to recite it on the Day of Judgment and asked to ascend in the Jannah according to his recitation:

🔊 The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝One who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told to recite, ascend and recite carefully as he recited carefully when he was in the world, for he will reach his abode when he comes to the last verse he recites.❞
📚 [Sunan al-Tirmidhee and Sunan Abu Dawood and graded as "Hasan" by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

🌴🌴🌴

👉 The one who died as a Martyr or wounded while fighting in the way of Allaah will be raised as a Martyr on the Day of Judgment.

🔊 The Prophet ﷺ said: ❝The one who is wounded in the way of Allaah - and Allaah knows best who is wounded in His way - will appear on the Day of Judgment with his wound bleeding. The color of it will be the color of blood, (but) its smell will be the smell of musk.❞
📚 [Saheehain]

🌴🌴🌴

👉 The one who died in the state of Ihraam (pilgrim) will be raised while he would be reciting the Talbiyah on the Day of Judgment.

🔊 Narrated Ibn Abbaas: While a man was riding (his mount) in Arafaat, he fell down from it (his mount) and broke his neck (and died). The Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Wash him with water and Sidr and shroud him in two pieces of cloth, and neither perfume him, nor cover his head, for he will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection pronouncing the Talbiyah (i.e. like a pilgrim).❞
📚 [Saheehain]

🌴🌴🌴

👉The one who was blind to the Guidance of Allaah and His Remembrance will be raised as blind on the Day of Judgment.

🔊 Allaah تعالى said:

❝{And whoever is blind in this world (i.e., does not see Allaah's Signs and believes not in Him), will be blind in the Hereafter, and more astray from the Path}❞
📚 [Surah al-Israa (17):72]

🔊 And He تعالى also said:

❝{But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'aan nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection. He will say: "O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (in the worldly life)?" (Allaah) will say: "Like this, Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allaah's Mercy)."}❞
📚 [Surah Taha (20): 124-126]

🌴🌴🌴

👉 The one who has stiffened his back and refuses to bow down to Allaah in prostration in this world, his back will be stiffened and he won't be able to prostrate to Allaah on the Day of Judgment.

🔊 Allaah تعالى said:

❝{(Remember) the Day when the Shin shall be laid bare (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) and they shall be called to prostrate (to Allaah), but they (hypocrites) shall not be able to do so. Their eyes will be cast down, ignominy will cover them; they used to be called to prostrate (offer prayers), while they were healthy and good (in the life of the world, but they did not).}❞
📚 [Surah al-Qalam (68): 42-43]

👉 And Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه said: ❝To proceed! Whoever amongst you worshiped Muhammad, then (know that) Muhammad is dead, but whoever worshiped Allaah (then know that) Allaah is Ever-Living and will never die.

Allaah said:
{Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful.}❞
📚[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree, and the Aayah is from Surah aal-`Imraan (3): 144]

🌴🌴🌴

If you are Beleivers, then you have no choice but to believe in the words of Allaah and His Messenger. If you believe in the words of the Barelwis, you have deviated away from the truth.

We leave you with the statement of the Prophet ﷺ: ❝I have left you upon clear guidance. Its night is like its day. Nobody deviates from it except that he is destroyed...❞

Remember, in these ten days, you can still reap the reward of feeding the people who are Fasting, like you did in Ramadhaan

The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝Whoever provides food for a Fasting person to break his Fast with, then for him is the same reward as his (the Fasting person's), without anything being diminished from the reward of the Fasting person.❞

Contemplate on the saying of Allaah

{They turned back while their eyes overflowed with tears out of grief that they could not find something to spend [for the cause of Allaah]} [Surah al-Tawbah (9): 92]

These were the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ who cried and grieved when they lost the opportunity to do good deeds, so how would they have cried upon committing a sin?!

Allaah did not just say: {تدمع} i.e. their eyes were filled with tears; rather, He تعالى said: {تفيض}, i.e. their eyes were flooding with tears. Mere tears turned into flooding because they missed on the opportunity to do acts of obedience!

Imraan Ibn Husain reported that a woman from the tribe of Juhainah came to Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ and she had become pregnant because of adultery. She said: ‘Allaah's Messenger, I have done something for which (prescribed punishment) must be imposed upon me, so impose that. Allaah's Messenger ﷺ called her guardian and said: ❝Treat her well, and when she delivers bring her to me.❞ The man did accordingly. Then Allaah's Messenger ﷺ commanded to carry out the sentence. So, her clothes were tied around her and then he ﷺ commanded and she was stoned to death. He ﷺ then led her funeral prayer. Thereupon `Umar said to him: “Allaah's Messenger! She committed adultery and you have performed funeral prayer for her?” Thereupon he ﷺ said: ❝She has made such a repentance that if it were to be divided among seventy men of al-Madeenah, it would have sufficed. Have you found any repentance better than this that she sacrificed her life for Allaah, the Majestic?❞

💠 The Deeds Most Beloved To Allaah In These Ten Days!

All praise is for Allaah (alone); and the most perfect and complete prayers and peace be upon Muhammad, the Messenger of Allaah, the preeminent amongst the first and the last (of the descendants of Aadam), and the Imaam of the Prophets and Messengers, the (first) one who will intercede and (the first one) whose intercession will be accepted on the Day of Judgment, and upon his nice family, and his pure wives – the mothers of the Believers, and his noble Companions, and upon those who follow his Sunnah and accepts his guidance till the Day of Judgment.
To proceed…

The Prophet ﷺ said: “There are no days in which good deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these days.” (Meaning the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah). They (the Companions) asked: “Not even Jihaad?” He ﷺ replied: “Not even Jihaad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allaah's sake) and does not return with any of those things.”
[Sunan Abu Dawood (2348), Sunan al-Tirmidhee (757), Sunan Ibn Maajah (1727), and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. Imaam al-Bukhaaree also reported in his Saheeh (969) with a slightly different wording.]

🔊 A summarized explanation from Shaikh Muhammad al-Malki’s lecture:

⚡1. The reward for the good deeds done in these ten days, even if they are a few, with Allaah are greater in reward, even greater than Jihaad in the cause of Allaah. This is because a person strives against himself in doing more good deeds in these ten days.

⚡2. What are the best good deeds that a person can do in these ten days?

⚡3. When good deeds are mentioned, people incline towards doing actions, which in today’s terminology are known as “positive things”, like Fasting, doing a lot of Dhikr (Allaah’s remembrance), and giving charity. All these are good deeds without a doubt. But there is an action greater than all these that Allaah has mentioned in His Book, when He mentioned the four Sacred Months.

⚡4. Allaah تعالى mentioned, as a Command towards His slaves during these Sacred Months:

فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنفُسَكُمْ
{So, do not wrong yourselves therein}
[Surah al-Tawbah (9): 36]

⚡5. How can a person wrong himself?

🔥a) Shirk:

i) By committing Shirk, a person does the biggest injustice against himself, as Allaah تعالى mentioned in the advice of Luqmaan to his son:

وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لِابْنِهِ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُ يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ
{And (remember) when Luqmaan said to his son when he was advising him: “O my son! Join not in worship others with Allaah. Verily! Joining others in worship with Allaah is a great Dhulm (wrong) indeed.}
[Surah Luqmaan (31):13]

ii) Even during these Sacred Days, we see and hear about people committing actions which are Shirk without doubt.

iii) Some swearing by other than Allaah, some swearing in the name of their fathers, or sons, or by their lives, etc.

iv) While some wear metal bangles on their arms as a protection against chronic pain, electromagnetic pulse, etc.

v) Some knock on wood when they fear the evil eye.

vi) So, a person should leave off all that which will cause Allaah’s wrath to descend upon him.

🔥b) Bid
ah:

i) This is another form of injustice that a person commits against himself.

ii) Shirk, which is the greatest injustice, will prevent a person from entering the Jannah, whereas Bidah will prevent a person from drinking from the cistern (Haudh) of the Prophet ﷺ on the Day of Judgment.

iii) The Prophet ﷺ said: “Some people will be driven away from my cistern, and I will say: 'They are from my Ummah!’ It will be said: “You do not know what they innovated (new things) in the religion after you left”. I will say: ‘Far removed, far removed (from mercy), those who changed (their religion) after me.’” [Saheehain]

iv) Bid
ah is a gateway to Shirk; this is why there are two punishments assigned to it. A punishment which will be hastened for him in this world, and a punishment which will be hastened for him in the Hereafter.

👉 In Duaa al-Istikhaarah, when a person says that: “O Allaah! In Your knowledge, if this thing is harmful for me, my religion, or my Hereafter, then keep it away from me and keep me away from it… Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen said:

And when he says: فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ, then keep it away from me and keep me away from it,

🔊Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:
“فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي
meaning: keep that thing away from me so that it does not become easy for me to do it.

meaning: keep me away from it so that I do not think about it, nor does my soul (or desire) try to chase it.”

🤲 What to do when a calamity befalls a Muslim?

🌴🌴🌴

🚫 There are many people who belittle the importance of Duaa during calamities.

🚫 There are people who believe in their own strength than in Allaah’s promise.

🚫 There are people who believe in "the strength in numbers", whereas the Prophet ﷺ said: “And know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allaah had already prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allaah had already prescribed against you.”

🔥 If you feel your supplications are not being answered, then check your sins and amend your ways.

🌴🌴🌴

🤲 What to do when a calamity befalls a Muslim?

💠 From the Qur’aan:

1️⃣

{And seek (Allaah’s) help through patience and al-Salaah (the prayer), and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for al-Khaashi
oon [i.e. the true believers in Allaah - those who obey Allaah with full submission, fear much from His Punishment, and believe in His Promise (Paradise, etc.) and in His Warnings (Hell, etc.)]. (They are those) who are certain that they are going to meet their Lord, and that unto Him they are going to return.}
📚[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 45-46]

2️⃣

{O you who Believe! Seek help in patience and al-Salaah (the prayer). Truly! Allaah is with al-Saabireen (the patient ones, etc.)}
📚[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 153]

3️⃣

{You shall certainly be tried and tested in your wealth and properties and in your personal selves, and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Scripture before you (Jews and Christians) and from those Mushrikeen (who ascribe partners to Allaah), but if you persevere patiently, and become al-Muttaqoon (the pious) then verily, that will be a determining factor in all affairs, and that is from the great matters, [which you must hold on with all your efforts].}
📚[Surah aal-Imraan (3): 186]

🌴🌴🌴

💠Hadeeth:

1️⃣
Whenever Allaah's Messenger ﷺ intended to invoke evil upon somebody or invoke good upon somebody, he used to invoke (Allaah) after rising up from bowing (in the prayer); i.e. after saying: “Sami
Allaahu liman hamidah, Rabbanaa lakal-hamd (Allaah hears him who sends his praises to Him, all praise is for You, O our Lord!” He ﷺ would say: “O Allaah! Save al-Waleed bin al-Waleed and Salamah bin Hishaam, and Ayyaash bin Abu Rabeeah. O Allah! Send Your punishment on Mudar (tribe) and strike them with years of (drought) like the years (of drought) of (Prophet) Yusuf.” The Prophet ﷺ used to say in a loud voice, and he also used to say in some of his Fajr prayers: “O Allaah! Curse so-and-so and so-and-so.” naming some of the Arab tribes.
📚[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree]

2️⃣
Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه said: For one month, the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ recited Qunoot in prayer, after (rising from) Rukoo
and after saying: “Allaah listened to him who praised Him,” and he ﷺ said in Qunoot: “O Allaah! Rescue al-Waleed Ibn al-Waleed; O Allaah! rescue Salamah Ibn Hishaam; O Allaah! Rescue Ayyaash Ibn Abu Rabeeah; O Allaah! rescue the helpless amongst the Muslims; O Allaah! trample Mudar severely; O Allaah! cause them a famine like that (which was caused at the time) of (Prophet) Yusuf.”
📚[Saheeh Muslim]

3️⃣
Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ said al-Qunoot for one month after the posture of Bowing, invoking evil upon some `Arab tribes.

🔥TEST OF FAITH!

👉 When the Prophet ﷺ informed the Companions that the supplications are answered in one of three ways:
1. Allaah will fulfill it for you in this world
2. Or will remove a harm in its place
3. Or store the reward for the supplicant in the Hereafter.

The Companions immediately responded: “We will increase in our supplication”.

They trusted the promise of Allaah, for He تعالى never disappoints.

They trusted the words of the Prophet ﷺ, for he ﷺ never lies.

So, they were not concerned about the outcome of their supplication. Instead, they were worried about their actions. For them, the worship of Allaah was more important, and Duaa (supplication) is one of the best forms of Ibaadah (worship).

They did not doubt Allaah’s promise. They were concerned that when the rewards are given out on the Day of Judgment, they would not be the ones who were left behind.

👉 Another example is when the Prophet ﷺ mentioned the Dajjaal and that he will rule for forty days, and one day will be like a year, the other like a month, and the third like a week… The Companions immediately asked him ﷺ about the prayers. “How should one pray when a day is like a year?”

After hearing about all the turmoil, the thing they were most concerned about was the Ṣalaah (prayers). For them, everything else was secondary. The priority was the worship of Allaah.

🌟 There are many lessons to be learn from these and other similar narrations, the foremost among them are:
1. The superiority of the Companions and their understanding of the priorities of this Religion.
2. During turmoil, the Ṣalaah and Du`aa are the ships that will help you sail through the storm.
3. Allaah تعالى informed in the Qur’aan that when things get difficult, seek Allaah’s help through Patience and Ṣalaah, whereas Shaiṭaan wants you to feel hopeless, react impatiently, and abandon `Ibaadah.
4. No matter how tough life gets, never abandon the worship of Allaah, even if it feels like the supplications are not getting answered.
5. Trust in Allaah’s Promise, for this is the test of your Faith!

⚡The era of frenemy:
(one who pretends to be a friend but is actually an enemy)

Lack of trustworthiness, not knowing who are your friends and who are your enemies

1️⃣Narrated Anas Ibn Maalik that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:
❝The first thing to go missing from your religion will be Amaanah (Trust / Honesty), and the last of it will be the Salaah (Prayer).❞
📚[Reported by al-Kharaa’itee in al-Makaarim al-Akhlaaq, and graded as “Hasan fee al-shawaahid” (Good due to other supporting chains) in al-Saheehah (1739)]

🌴🌴🌴

2️⃣In a few other narrations, the wording is: ❝The first thing to be taken away from the people will be Amaanah…❞

🌴🌴🌴

3️⃣Narrated Imran bin Husain that Allaah's Messenger ﷺ said:
❝The best of my followers are those living in my generation (i.e. my contemporaries). and then those who will follow the latter.❞
Imraan added: "I do not remember whether he mentioned two or three generations after his generation, then the Prophet ﷺ added:
❝There will come after you, people who will bear witness without being asked to do so, and will be dishonest and untrustworthy, and they will vow and never fulfill their vows, and fatness will appear among them.❞

💠 BE ON YOUR GUARD!

Who's on the TRUTH?! You decide...

1️⃣ Sufi Barelwis say that it is permissible to call upon others besides Allaah (whether they be Prophets or dead saints) for help/aid and intercession.

👉 Whereas Allaah ﷻ says: {Say: “ Call upon those who you have claimed besides Him, for they do not possess the (ability to) remove harm from you or change it. Those whom they call upon (themselves) seek means of access (Waseela) to their Lord, even those who are near, and they hope for His mercy and fear His punishment. Indeed, the punishment of your Lord is to be feared.”}
📚[Surah al-Israa (17):56-57]

2️⃣ Sufi Barelwis say that the Prophet ﷺ is made from real "light." They go to the extent to say he ﷺ is from the actual light of Allaah!

👉 Whereas Allaah تعالى says: {Say (O Muhammad): “I am only a man like you, to whom it has been revealed that your Ilaah (the one who should be truly worshiped) is but one Ilaah (Allaah); so take the straight path to Him and seek His forgiveness.” And woe to those who commit Shirk with Allaah!}
📚 [Surah Fussilat (41):6]

3️⃣ Sufi Barelwis say that the Prophet ﷺ is "Haadhir" (حاضر) meaning: he ﷺ can be present in several places at onc; and "Naazir" (ناظر) meaning: he ﷺ watches every thing.

👉 Whereas Allaah تبارك وتعالى says: {And you (O Muhammad) were NOT there at the western side (of the mountain) when We delegated the matter to Moosa, NOR were you among those present...
And you were NOT dwelling among the people of Madyan, reciting Our Aayaat to them, but it is We who kept sending the messengers.
And you were NOT at the side of (the mount) Tur when We called (Moosa)...}
📚 {Surah al-Qasas (28):44-46]

4️⃣ Sufi Barelwis say that the Prophet ﷺ knows the Unseen. They say he knows what is in the Preserved Tablet (Lawh al-Mahfoozh) and what the Pen wrote. They claim that basically he knows everything from the beginning of creation to the end of it, and more!

👉 Whereas Allaah تعالى says: {With Him (Allaah) are the keys of the Unseen. No one knows them except He. And He knows what is in the land and the sea. Not a leaf falls but He knows it, not a grain amid the darkness of the earth, nor of wet or dry but (it is noted) in a clear record (meaning: the Lawh al-Mafoozh)}
📚 [Surah al-Anaam (6):59]

👉 And Allaah تعالى also says:
{Say (O Muhammad): “I do not possess for myself any benefit or harm except what Allaah wills. If I had known the Unseen, I would have brought on for myself a lot of good, and nothing evil would ever befall me. I am but a giver of warnings and of glad tidings for a people who believe.”}
📚 {Surah al-A
raaf (7):188]

👉 Narrated Umm al-Alaa’: When the Ansaar drew lots as to which of the Muhaajiroon (emigrants) should dwell with which of the Ansaar, the name of Uthmaan Ibn Madhoon came out (to be in their lot). Umm al-Alaa’ further said: Uthmaan stayed with us, and we nursed him when he got sick, but he died. We shrouded him in his clothes, and Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ came to our house and I (Umm al-Alaa’) said, (addressing the dead Uthmaan): “O Abu al-Saa’ib! May Allaah be merciful to you. I testify that Allaah has honored you.” The Prophet ﷺ said to me: ❝How do you know that Allaah has honored him?❞ I replied: “I do not know, O Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ! May my parents be sacrificed for you.” Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ said: ❝As regards Uthmaan, by Allaah he has died and I really wish him every good, yet, by Allaah, although I am Allaah’s Messenger (ﷺ), I do not know what will be done to him.❞ Umm al- `Alaa’ added: “By Allaah, I shall never attest the piety of anyone after him.”
📚 [Saheeh al-Bukaaree (1243, 2687, 3929, 7003, 7018)]

💢 [Note: The Prophet ﷺ knew only some of the matters of the Unseen that were revealed to him by Allaah. Claiming that he ﷺ knew everything that was going to happen and when is against the above-mentioned Aayaat and Hadeeth]

5️⃣ Sufi Barelwis say that the Prophet ﷺ is alive in this world and is NOT dead.

👉 Whereas Allaah تعالى says: {You (O Muhammad) will die, and they too will die.}
📚 [Surah al-Zumar (39):30]

v) From the punishment in the world: Allaah will not accept the repentance of the one who commits a Bidah till he abandons it. The Bidah acts as a barrier that prevents his Tawbah from being accepted.

vi) A person should abandon all forms of Shirk and Bidah.

🔥c) Sins:

i) Do not commit injustice against yourselves by being disobedient to Allaah and by committing sins.

ii) Many people have fallen into this. They might pray, but once the prayer is over, they go back to committing sins.

iii) Disobedience can be committed in two ways. One is by abandoning that which Allaah تعالى has commanded, and the other is by doing that which Allaah تعالى has prohibited. By doing so, a person commits injustice against oneself.

iv) As for sins, one should not regard them as insignificant, no matter how small they seem. Persistence upon minor sins will add up to make them heavy against the person on the Day of Judgment.

v) The Prophet ﷺ said: “Beware of evil deeds that are regarded as insignificant, for they will pile up upon a person till they destroy him.” [Musnad Ahmad (3818) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee in Saheeh al-Jaami
(2687)]

vi) The way Bidah is a gateway to Shirk, similarly, sins are a gateway to Bidah. Persistence upon sins leads a person on the path of Bidah, and persistence upon Bidah leads him on the path of Shirk till he no longer remains in the fold of Islaam.

🔥d) Committing injustice against others:

i) And this is one of the most severe forms of injustice that a person transgresses against others, and takes away their rights unjustly.

ii) People engage in doing many good deeds in this season of righteousness, but they do not care for the rights of the people, and they do not stop their injustice towards others.

iii) They destroy their own good deeds by doing injustice to others.

iv) This is like how a poet said: “When will a building be completed when you are trying to build it while the others are trying to pull it down? So, what then about the building which you are constructing and at the same time you yourself are pulling it down?”

v) The Prophet ﷺ said: “The bankrupt in my Ummah is the one who comes with Salaah and Fasting and Zakaah on the Day of Judgement, but he comes having abused this one, falsely accusing that one, wrongfully consuming the wealth of this one, spilling the blood of that one, and beating this one. So he is seated, and this one is requited from his rewards. If his rewards are exhausted before the sins that he committed are requited, then some of their sins will be taken and cast upon him, then he will be cast into the Fire.” [Saheeh Muslim]

vi) Who compelled you to lose all that which you had strived for so hard? You Fasted, prevented yourself from food and drink, and suffered hunger and thirst! You stayed awake during the nights, praying, and prevented yourself from the sweetness of sleep!

vii) You did so many good deeds, so why do you want to give them away? Why do you want to commit things which will not benefit you, nor bring you honor in this world, nor will they elevate your status in the Hereafter?

viii) You sit in gatherings and backbite others! You talk something unlawful, you hear something unlawful, you see something unlawful, you degrade some and belittle others. These are actions which will make one lose his good deeds to others….

The one who does a lot of Dhikr (remembers Allaah a lot), with his heart [1], with his tongue [2], and with his limbs [3], it is hoped that it will be made easy for him to say: “Laa ilaaha illallaah” on his deathbed.

{Allaah keeps firm those who believe - with the firm word - in worldly life and in the Hereafter.} [4]

TAFSEER AL-MUYASSAR:
“Allaah strengthens those who believe with the true and firmly established statement, i.e., the testimony:
لا إله إلا الله ، محمدًا رسول الله
«None has the right to be worshiped except Allaah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah»

And what he (the Prophet ﷺ) brought of the true religion. Allaah strengthens them with it in this worldly life, and at the time of their death with a good ending, and in the grave when the two angels question them, Allaah guides them to the correct answer.” [5]

💠 Did you know that Duaa al-Istikhaarah is the replacement of the Pre-Islaamic practice of al-Azlaam⁉️

👉 Regarding the statement of Jaabir رضي الله عنه: “The Prophet ﷺ used to teach us how to do al-Istikhaarah, in all our affairs, as he would teach us a Surah of the Qur’aan.”
📚 [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree]

👉 This statement of Jaabir رضي الله عنه, points to the importance of this subject matter.

In the Saheehain, it is reported that Ibn Mas
ood رضي الله عنه said: “The Prophet ﷺ taught me the Tashah-hud as he taught me a Surah of the Qur’aan.”

And Muslim reported in his Saheeh that Ibn Abbaas رضي الله عنهما said: “The Prophet ﷺ used to teach us the Tashah-hud just as he used to teach us a surah from the Qur’aan.”

And we know that the final Tashah-hud is one of the Rukn (pillars) of al-Salaah.

One should give special care for learning and teaching how to do al-Istikhaarah, like how one learns a Surah from the Qur’aan. Whenever a situation arises where one gets confused and can not decide what to do, he should quickly revert to doing al-Istikhaarah.

🎓 Shaikh Ibn al-
Uthaymeen رحمه الله said: “The statement of the Companion: ‘He ﷺ would teach us al-Istikhaarah as he would teach us a Surah of the Qur’aan’, points to the special care the Prophet ﷺ took in teaching them al-Istikhaarah, like how he taught them the Tashah-hud, and how he taught them a Surah of the Qur’aan. This Duaa is filled with praises for Allaah تعالى, and Allaah تعالى made it a substitute for the things that were done in the Jaahiliyyah (pre-Islaamic days of ignorance).

In the Jaahiliyyah, they used to seek luck or make decisions through diving arrows (al-Azlaam – its prohibition is mentioned twice in Surah al-Maaidah). They would use three wooden pieces shaped like arrows, put them inside a jar or a bag, and shake it. On one of these arrows, it would be written: “Do it”, on the other: “Don’t do it”, and the third would be left blank. Then, without seeing, the person would take out one of the arrows. If it is written: “Do it”, he would do it. If it is written: “Don’t do it”, he would not do it. But if it is the blank arrow, he would repeat the process. So Allaah تعالى replaced this old superstitious practice with this Du
aa.”

4️⃣
The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ recited the supplication (Qunoot) daily for a month in Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and Fajr prayers. When he ﷺ said: “Allaah listens to him who praises Him” in the last Rakah, invoking a curse on some clans of Banoo Sulaym, Ril, Dhakwaan and Usayyah; and those who were standing behind him said: Aameen.
📚[Sunan Abu Dawood (1443), and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

💠Conclusion:
The Prophet ﷺ offered supplication at times of calamity on a number of occasions, and his supplication was appropriate to the calamity for which he was praying Qunoot. When he prayed for the salvation of the weak and oppressed in Makkah, he said: “O Allaah, O Allaah, save al-Waleed ibn al-Waleed, Salamah ibn Hishaam,
Ayyaash ibn Abi Rabeeah and the weak and oppressed believers.” When he prayed against some of the Arab tribes because of the severity of their enmity towards Allaah and His Messenger, he ﷺ said: “O Allaah, punish Mudar severely and send upon them a famine like that of Yoosuf.”

When he ﷺ prayed against some of the Arab tribes who had betrayed 70 of the Sahaabah and killed them, he prayed that they be cursed.

🌴🌴🌴

💠From the statement of the scholars:

🎓Shaikh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyah رحمه الله said:
It is prescribed to say Qunoot at times of calamity, praying for the believers and praying against the disbelievers, in Fajr, and other prayers. Thus
Umar رضي الله عنه said Qunoot when fighting the Christians, in his Duaa’ in which he said: “O Allaah, curse the disbelievers of the people of the Book…” Similarly, Alee رضي الله عنه once fought a people and said Qunoot and prayed against them. The person who is saying Qunoot should say, at the time of each calamity, a supplication that is appropriate to that calamity. If he names the believers for whom he is praying and the disbelievers against whom he is praying, that is good.
📚[Majmoo al-Fataawa (22/271)]

🎓It says in Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah (22/271):
It is proven that the Prophet ﷺ used to say Qunoot at times of calamity, praying against the aggressors among the disbelievers, and praying for the weak and oppressed Muslims to be saved from the plots and captivity of the Kuffaar.

🎓Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:
He should say Qunoot with a supplication that is appropriate to the calamity that has come. Hence the Messenger ﷺ used to say Qunoot with words that were appropriate to the calamity, and he did not say “Allaahumma ihdini fiman hadayta/O Allaah, guide me among those whom You have guided…” as some of the common folk do. It is not narrated in any hadeeth, Saheeh or Dha
eef, that the Messenger ﷺ ever used to say: “Allaahumma ihdini fiman hadayta/O Allaah, guide me among those whom You have guided…”) in obligatory prayers; rather he would offer a supplication that was appropriate to that calamity. On one occasion, he ﷺ prayed for some of the weak and oppressed people, asking Allaah to save them until they came (to him in Madeenah).
📚[al-Sharh al-Mumti’ (4/45)]

Based on this, the worshiper should choose a supplication that is appropriate to the calamity and say that.

🌺🌺🌺

So, if one cannot pray even during the times of calamities , then indeed their Imaan is weak, and that prayer has become hard for them to perform. And what calamity is worse than this?!

Du`aa is not the only means, but it is the first and most important step towards victory. Those who can donate should do so.

💠 The Jinns had the best response:

Regarding the saying of Allaah
{So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?}
📚 [Surah al-Raḥmaan (55) – 31 times]

👉 Jaabir رضي الله عنه said: “The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ came out to his Companions and recited Surah al-Raḥmaan from its beginning to its end for them, and they were silent. Then he ﷺ said: ❝I recited it to the Jinn on the night they came to me [1] and they had a better response to it than you did. Each time I came to Allaah’s saying:
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
{Which of your Lord’s favors do you deny?}
They (The Jinn) said:

“We do not deny any of Your favors, our Lord! And to You is (all) praise.”

📚[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (3291), and graded as “Ḥasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. Similar is also reported from Ibn `Umar See al-Ṣaḥeeḥah (2150)]
[1] When the Prophet ﷺ was returning to Makkah after being rejected by the people of al-Taa’if.
