💖 While mentioning some of the characteristics of the righteous people, Allaah تعالى says:
وَالصَّابِرِينَ فِي الْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ وَحِينَ الْبَأْسِ
{and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship (& illnesses) and fighting (during battle)}
Patience with its three types is included in this Aayah:
1️⃣ Patience in abstaining from what has been prohibited (and all the other acts of evil and disobedience).
2️⃣ Patience during times of hardship (when the heart is hurting and the soul is restless).
3️⃣ Patience upon obedience (i.e., in fulfilling the obligations and doing the righteous deeds).
Afflictions, adversities, and miseries do not make them dissatisfied with Allaah’s Decree and Preordainment . Rather, they always say with their tongues and hearts:
رضينا بالله ربا وبالإسلام دينا وبمحمد رسولا
《We are pleased with Allaah as our Lord, and with Islaam as our Religion, and with Muhammad as our Messenger》
✒️ Tafseer of Surah al-Baqarah (2:177) by Shaikh Ibn al-`Uthaymeen
{O you who believe! Endure and be more patient (than your enemy)} (3:200)
{And Allaah loves those who are patient} (3:146)
{And be patient. Surely, Allaah is with those who are patiently persevere} (8:46)
{Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full, without reckoning} (39:10)
{but give good tidings to those who are patient} (2:155)
{And (Allaah) will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]} (76:12)
{And seek (Allaah’s) help through patience and prayer} (2:45)
{So patiently wait for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes, and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars.} (52: 48-49)
Translation of explanation Of "Hisn Al-Muslim" into the English language
By Allaah’s Will, Permission, and Help, the English translation of the book: "Ithaaf al-Muslim bi Sharh Hisn al-Muslim" (Gifting A Muslim With Explanation Of Fortress Of The Muslim), by Shaikh Saeed Ibn
Alee Ibn Wahf al-Qahtaanee رحمه الله is already underway and a few chapters, including the introduction and merits of Dhikr have been translated so far. The Arabic book has more than 2,000 pages, so it will take quite some time, but, in shaa Allaah, it will be completed.
In shaa Allaah, from time to time, the blog will be updated with new chapters at regular intervals. For those who would like to follow and benefit from this, can bookmark the below link:

Some of the narrations on the prohibition of offering prayers in the cemeteries or facing towards the graves:
Narrated Abu Saeed al-Khudree رضي الله عنه: the Prophet ﷺ said: ❝The whole earth is a masjid (place of prayer) except public baths and graveyards.❞ [Sunan Abu Dawood (492), and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh Al-Albaanee]
Abdullaah Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: ❝The most evil of mankind are those who will be alive when the Last Day arrives and those who take graves as places of worship.❞ [Musnad of Imaam Ahmad (3844, 4143, 4342) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. See Ahkaamul-Janaa’iz, (1/278)]
Abdullaah al-Bajali رضي الله عنه heard the Prophet ﷺ say five days before he died: ❝The people before you took graves as Masaajid. I prohibit this to you.❞ [Saheeh Muslim (532)]
Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ said: ❝Do not sit on the graves and do not pray facing towards them.❞ [Saheeh Muslim (2122) and Sunan Abu Dawood(3223)]
Jundub ibn
Narrated Aaishah and
When the last moment of the life of Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ came he started putting his ‘Khamisa’ on his face and when he felt hot and short of breath he took it off his face and said: ❝May Allaah curse the Jews and Christians for they built the places of worship at the graves of their Prophets.❞ The Prophet ﷺ was warning (Muslims) of what they (the Jews and Christians) had done. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree (427), Saheeh Muslim (1082), and Sunan Abu Dawood (3221)]
Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab رضي الله عنه once noticed another of the Prophet’s companions, Anas bin Maalik رضي الله عنه, praying near a grave and called him out: ❝The grave! The grave!❞ [Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree, Chapter 16, Kitaab as-Salaah]

And what a beautiful statement Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله had said:
هربوا من الرق الذي خلقوا لهُ
وبلوا برق النفس والشيطانِ
❝They fled from the servitude for which they were created...
So, they were plagued with the servitude of the self and Shaitaan.❞
📚[al-Nooniyyah (1/308)]
A person either becomes a slave of Allaah or he becomes a slave of Shaitaan or his own desires. These are the people who got misled after knowing the right from the wrong, the truth from the falsehood, the good from the bad, because they gave precedence to their desires and became its slave.
This group is further divided into three categories:
⚡️A) Those who deny the existence of Allaah and they are the atheist and those who tread their path. As Allaah تعالى says:
{Verily, those who turn away from Our Aayaat (proofs, evidences, etc. by attacking, distorting and denying them), are not hidden from Us. Is he who is cast into the Fire better or he who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do what you will. Verily! He is All-Seer of what you do (this is a severe threat to the disbelievers).}
📚 [Surah Fussilat (41): 40]
⚡️B) Those who worship Allaah upon doubt. Such people lack in conviction in Allaah and His promise, and are not firm in their beliefs. Like the one with the enormous garden, as mentioned in Surah al-Kahf:
{And he went into his garden while in a state (of pride and disbelief) unjust to himself. He said: “I think not that this will ever perish. And I do not think the Hour will ever come, and if indeed I am brought back to my Lord, (on the Day of Resurrection), I surely shall find better than this when I return to Him.” His companion said to him, during the talk with him: “Do you disbelieve in Him Who created you out of dust (i.e. your father Aadam), then out of Nutfah (mixed semen drops of male and female discharge), then fashioned you into a man? But as for my part (I believe) that He is Allaah, my Lord and none shall I associate as partner with my Lord.}
📚 [Surah al-Kahf (18): 35-38]
⚡️C) Those who have abandoned the prayers. They are like criminals who do evil and yet expect to be rewarded, they are like those who expect grapes from the thorns. Just as grapes are not grown on thorns, so will the evildoers not reach the status of the righteous. As Allaah تعالى says:
{Then shall We treat the Muslims like the criminals? What is (wrong) with you? How do you judge?}
📚 [Surah al-Qalm (68): 34-35]

O Allaah, help us to remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner!
Brief Notes on Du`aa Al-Istikhaarah
https://ilm4all.blogspot.com/2013/06/brief-explanation-of-duaa-al-istikhaarah.html?m=1
Know that death is not the end!
O those who have been afflicted with calamities!
And those who have suffered adversities in life, and the losses!
And those whose eyes have been overflowing with tears!
And whose hearts have been suffering with pain!
Know that the parting from this world is not the end!
It is only a transition, from this world to the next!
The transition ending with – either in the Jannah or in the Hellfire!
This is why, one should remember, everyone who departed from you in this world, will surely meet you in the Hereafter.
How many loved ones and dear ones have departed from us!
Allaah had decreed that one day we will be separated from them!
And every one of us is going to drink from that cup – the cup of death!
By Allaah! Everyone who is born of a woman will taste death, and there is no escape!
Death doesn’t differentiate between male or female, young or old, strong or weak, healthy or sick, rich or poor. When the appointed time comes, everyone will die!
Some will die today and some will die tomorrow!
The living lament at the death of their loved ones, while the dead regrets at the missed opportunities for doing more good deeds!
Today we walk to the Masaajid to pray, but tomorrow we will be carried to the Masaajid on the shoulders to be prayed upon, and then be carried to our graves!
And know, that part of the reward of entering the Jannah is – if they are of those who were patient in this world – Do you know what Allaah تعالى has said about them?!
{Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying]: "Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home."}
📚[Surah al-Rad (13): 23-24]
Aleem (the Most-Knowledgeable), al-Lateef (the Most- Kind and Generous)! Whatever you see as evil and harm, it is in fact a means of goodness towards you, that will raise your status in the Hereafter.
Yes, the Angels will greet you and your Lord will be pleased with you!
The highest station in Jannah is not achieved except through patience. Being patient with what Allaah had decreed!
And if one is pleased with the decree of Allaah, then it will lead him to an even more higher station in the Jannah.
So, be patient, and know that what Allaah تعال has decreed will come to pass. There is no one who can change the decree of Allaah تعالى!
Allaah تعالى is al-Hakeem (the Most-Wise), al-
Hidden in between the calamity that you suffer is a source of reward for you from Allaah which you do not see!
The pain that you suffer is the door from which Allaah تعالى provides for you!
So, be patient till you meet the Prophet ﷺ as he said: ❝So be patient till you meet me, and your promised place (of meeting) will be the cistern (i.e., Lake of al-Kauthar).❞
📚[Saheehain]
⚡️23. When people are ungrateful, the favors and blessings are taken away:
Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that he heard Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ saying: ❝Allaah willed to test three Israaeelis, who were: a leper, a blind man and a bald-headed man. So, He تعالى sent them an Angel who came to the leper and said: “What thing do you like most?” He replied: “Good color and good skin, for the people have a strong aversion to me.” The Angel touched him and his illness was cured, and he was given a good color and beautiful skin. The Angel asked him: “What kind of property do you like best?” He replied: “Camels.” So he (i.e. the leper) was given a pregnant she-camel, and the Angel said (to him): “May Allaah bless you in it.” The Angel then went to the bald-headed man and said: “What thing do you like most?” He said: “I like good hair and wish to be cured of this disease, for the people feel repulsion for me.” The Angel touched him and his illness was cured, and he was given good hair. The Angel asked (him): “What kind of property do you like best?” He replied: “Cows.” The Angel gave him a pregnant cow and said: “May Allaah bless you in it.” The Angel went to the blind man and asked: “What thing do you like best?” He said: “(I like) that Allaah may restore my eye-sight to me so that I may see the people.” The Angel touched his eyes and Allaah gave him back his eye-sight. The Angel asked him: “What kind of property do you like best?” He replied: “Sheep.” The Angel gave him a pregnant sheep. Afterwards, all the three pregnant animals gave birth to young ones, and multiplied and brought forth so much that one of the (three) men had a herd of camels filling a valley, and one had a herd of cows filling a valley, and one had a flock of sheep filling a valley. Then the Angel, disguised in the shape and appearance of a leper, went to the leper and said: “I am a poor man, who has lost all means of livelihood while on a journey. So none will satisfy my need except Allaah and then you. In the Name of Him Who has given you such nice color and beautiful skin, and so much property, I ask you to give me a camel so that I may reach my destination.” The man replied: “I have many obligations (so I cannot give you).” The Angel said: “I think I know you; were you not a leper to whom the people had a strong aversion? Weren't you a poor man, and then Allaah gave you (all this property)?” He replied: “(This is all wrong), I got this property through inheritance from my fore-fathers.” The Angel said: “If you are telling a lie, then let Allaah make you as you were before.” Then the Angel, disguised in the shape and appearance of a bald man, went to the bald man and said to him the same as he told the first one, and he too answered the same as the first one did. The Angel said: “If you are telling a lie, then let Allaah make you as you were before.” The Angel, disguised in the shape of a blind man, went to the blind man and said: “I am a poor man and a traveler, whose means of livelihood have been exhausted while on a journey. I have nobody to help me except Allaah, and after Him, you yourself. I ask you in the Name of Him Who has given you back your eye-sight to give me a sheep, so that with its help, I may complete my journey.” The man said: “No doubt, I was blind and Allaah gave me back my eye-sight; I was poor and Allaah made me rich; so take anything you wish from my property. By Allaah, I will not stop you for taking anything (you need) of my property which you may take for Allaah’s sake.” The Angel replied: “Keep your property with you. You (i.e., the three men) have been tested, and Allaah is pleased with you and is angry with your two companions.”❞

🔒QUESTION: What is the distance that one is allowed to pass in front of a person who is praying?
🎓Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-Uthaymeen رحمه الله replied:
al-Fataawa of Shaikh Ibn al-`Uthaymeen (13/329-330)]
🔑❝The distance that is prohibited to cross in front of the one who is praying are as follows:
🌟1. If he is praying behind a Sutrah (screeen or barrier like a pillar or wall), then the distance between him and the Sutrah is forbidden. It is not allowed for anyone to pass through them.
🌟2. If there is no Sutrah, but there is a specified praying place, like he is praying on a prayer rug, then this prayer rug should be respected. It is not allowed for anyone to walk over this prayer rug that he is praying on.
🌟3. But if there is no specified praying place (i.e. no Sutrah or prayer rug), then the distance between his feet and the place of his prostration (i.e. where he rests his head in Sujood) is prohibited. No one should pass through them.❞

5. The one who competes (with the Imaam) is threatened with transformation (of his head) to that of the donkey because there is a similarity between him and the donkey in their foolishness and stupidity. The one who competes, when he knows that he cannot complete the Salaah before the Imaam (and leave), so all this hurrying up is of no benefit. This only proves his foolishness and weak understanding.
6. Competing with the Imaam is evidence that the person is in a hurry to finish the prayer, and this is a sickness. The one who does this should be reminded (and corrected).
7. The threat of changing the head, of the one who raises his head before the Imaam, to that of the donkey is a matter which is possible (like how the Banee Israa'eel were transformed into monkeys and pigs), but its occurrence has not been reported. There is a possibility that that the changing of face can also mean the changing of the nature, so that a person becomes unintelligent like a donkey.

⚡️Meaning Of The Phrase “Dubur Al-Salaah”
Or
⚡️The Principle Of: When To Make The DuAa And When To Make Dhikr After The Prayers
UTHAYMEEN رحمه الله SAID:
🎓SHAIKH IBN AL-
❝Similarly, in the Hadeeth of Muaadh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه, the Prophet ﷺ would say at the end of every Salaah:
innee alaa dhikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni
“Allaahumma aibaadatika”
aa), then it should be before Tasleem. This is because the period before Tasleem and after the Tashahhud is the end (Dubur) of Salaah as stated by Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah: “The end (Dubur) of something is usually a part of it. Hence, the rear part of an animal is referred to as its end (Dubur).”
(O Allaah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner.) 1️⃣
The basic principle regarding the word “Dubur” is that if what is mentioned is a word of remembrance (Dhikr), it should be after the Tasleem (at the end of the Salaah), but if what is mentioned is a supplication (Du
Therefore, the Ahaadeeths of Sad Ibn Abee Waqqaas and Mu
aadh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنهما would imply that these supplications come after completing the Tashahhud but before the Tasleem.❞ 2️⃣
--end of quote
📑TN’s Notes:
[A] This meaning that “Dubur al-Salaah” means: “at the end of the Prayer before the Tasleem”, is also supported by another narration reported by al-Nasaa’ee with the wording that the Prophet ﷺ said to Muaadh: ❝Never forget to say in every prayer…❞ and the remaining Hadeeth is the same as above. 3️⃣
ood رضي الله عنه, the Prophet ﷺ when he taught Ibn Mas
[B] In regards to Allaah’s remembrance (Dhikr), And Allaah تعالى said:
﴿فَإِذَا قَضَيْتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ فَاذْكُرُوا اللَّـهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِكُمْ﴾
{And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allaah standing, sitting down, or lying down on your sides.} 4️⃣
Examples of Dhikr: saying Sub-haan Allaah (33 times), Alhamdulillaah (33 times), Allaahu Akbar (34 times); reciting Aayatul-Kursee. All these are to be said after the Salaah, i.e., after the Tasleem.
[C] In the Saheeh from the Hadeeth of Ibn Masood the Tashahhud, he ﷺ said: ❝Then let (a person) choose whatever Du
aa he likes (to supplicate with).❞ 5️⃣
Meaning: to supplicate after the Tashahhud and before the Tasleem.
Examples of Duaa: seeking Allaah’s refuge from the punishment in the grave and of the Hellfire, and the Fitnah of Life and Death, and Fitnah of al-Dajjaal; as well as saying: “Allaahumma a
innee alaa Dhikrika wa Shukrika wa husni
ibaadatik”, or saying: “Allaahumma innee dhalumtu nafsee dhulman katheeraa, wa laa yaghfiru adh-dhunooba illaa anta, fa-ghfir lee maghfiratan min `indika, war-hamnee, innaka antal-ghafooru r-raheem”

8️⃣ Our stay on this earth is not permanent, so the aim should be al-Jannah. As Allaah تعالى said:
{But of mankind there are some who say: "Our Lord! Give us (Your Bounties) in this world!" and for such there will be no portion in the Hereafter. And of them there are some who say: "Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!" For them there will be alloted a share for what they have earned. And Allaah is Swift at reckoning.}
📚[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 200-202]
9️⃣ It is the love of the Dunya that makes people abandon the religion, apostatize, or become hypocritical:
{Whoever disbelieved in Allaah after his belief - except for the one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart remains firm in Faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allaah, and for them is a great punishment; That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allaah does not guide the disbelieving people.}
📚[Surah al-Nahl (16): 106-107]
🔲🔳🔲
When people get exposed to Haraam and all types of vices, and when religious ignorance is rampant, then people start to drift away from the religion. They stop praying, men shave their beards, women abandon their Hijaab, children become disobedient, etc.
Our stay on this earth as compared to the Hereafter is nothing in terms of time and luxury. So, don't ruin your eternity for a pleasure of a few minutes.
🌴🌴🌴
🌟 Have trust in Allaah’s promise and be patient.
⚡️ How To Avoid Disappointments In Life?
⚡️ How To Avoid Sadness?
⚡️ How To Protect Ourselves From Religious Burnout?
Due to constant pressure in life, and what seems like: "never ending trials", the exposure to Haraam (prohibited things), the competition to amass worldly luxuries and comfort, many people get tired, burned-out, and they take their frustration out on Allaah and His religion. This leads them to become careless or totally abandon their religion.
The religious burnout begins when a person starts thinking as, "I" and "me". "Why am I suffering?", "Why does he have it and I don’t?", "When will this end?" etc.
🌴 To avoid this one has to contemplate:
1️⃣ First and foremost, stop thinking that the world revolves around you. Your creation is for a purpose, and your living and your death should be for a purpose, and that is, “the worship of Allaah عز وجل”:
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
{And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.}
📚[Surah al-Dhaariyaat (51): 56]
{Say (O Muhammad ﷺ): “Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allaah, Lord of the worlds.}
📚[Surah al-Anaam (6): 162]
qoob, Yusuf, Ayyoob عليهم السلام and others went through sever trials.
2️⃣ Allaah تعالى did not promise a permanent comfortable life to anyone on this earth, not even to His Prophets and Messengers عليهم السلام:
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born an orphan, his mother passed away while he was still young, months would pass by and all he would have is dates to eat and water to drink. Except for Faatimah رضي الله عنها, all his other children passed away in his lifetime. He would sleep on bedding made of palm fiber which would leave traces on his body.
Nooh, Ibraaheem, Ya
3️⃣ You will be tested to the vey core:
{Or do you think that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, "When (will come) the Help of Allaah?" Yes! Certainly, the Help of Allaah is near!}
📚[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 214]
So, be in this world like a traveler, who stopped under a shade for taking rest and then he moves on, and don't attach yourself to the world too much. As the Prophet ﷺ had said.
📚[Saheehain]
4️⃣ Avoid chasing what other people have:
Do not base your happiness and success by comparing yourself with what other people have. Maybe what they have is a trial from Allaah to mislead them in this life, so that they have a severe punishment in the Hereafter.
As Allaah تعالى says:
{So let not their wealth or their children amaze you; in reality Allaah’s plan is to punish them with these things in the life of the this world, and that their souls shall depart (die) while they are disbelievers.}
📚 [Surah al-Tawbah (9): 55]
Allaah تعالى also mentioned:
{And do not extend your glance towards what We have given some classes of them to enjoy - the splendor of the life of this world - that We may test them thereby. Your Lord’s provision is better, and more lasting.}
📚 [Surah Taha (20):131]
He تعالى also said:
The one who does a lot of Dhikr (remembers Allaah a lot), with his heart [1], with his tongue [2], and with his limbs [3], it is hoped that it will be made easy for him to say: “Laa ilaaha illallaah” on his deathbed.
{Allaah keeps firm those who believe - with the firm word - in worldly life and in the Hereafter.} [4]
TAFSEER AL-MUYASSAR:
“Allaah strengthens those who believe with the true and firmly established statement, i.e., the testimony:
لا إله إلا الله ، محمدًا رسول الله
«None has the right to be worshiped except Allaah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah»
And what he (the Prophet ﷺ) brought of the true religion. Allaah strengthens them with it in this worldly life, and at the time of their death with a good ending, and in the grave when the two angels question them, Allaah guides them to the correct answer.” [5]

🔥 When it comes to worship, people fall into one of these categories:
1. Those who sincerely worship Allaah alone and nothing else:
They worship Allaah the way Allaah wants to be worshiped. They worship Allaah upon the guidance and light from Allaah. They worship Allaah upon the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ. They are the ones who are upon Tawheed, as Allaah تعالى mentions:
قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
{Say (O Muhammad): “Verily, my Salaah (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allaah, the Lord of the Aalameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists).}
aam (6): 162]
📚 [Surah al-An
۩•۞•۩
2. Those worship the Taaghoot (false gods):
This is further divided into two categories:
⚡️A) The first category thinks that there are beings equal to Allaah in power and Majesty, and who can answer their prayers and remove their suffering. So, they worship Allaah and also worship others besides Him. As Allaah تعالى says:
{And most of them believe not in Allaah except that they also attribute partners unto Him [i.e. they are Mushrikoon}
[Surah Yusuf (12): 106]
{And those who take protectors besides Him [say]: “We only worship them that they may bring us nearer to Allaah in position.”}
📚 [Surah al-Zumar (39):3]
In Saheeh Muslim it is mentioned that Ibn Abbaas رضي الله عنهما said: The idolaters used to say:
bah.
‘Labbaika laa Shareeka lak (Here we are (O Allaah!), You have no partner).’
The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ would say: “Woe to you, stop there, stop there (don’t say anything further).”
But they would continue:
إِلاَّ شَرِيكًا هُوَ لَكَ تَمْلِكُهُ وَمَا مَلَكَ
‘Except a partner that You have, and You control him and all that he possesses.’ And they would say this as they circumambulated the Ka
📚 [Saheeh Muslim (2671)]
They acknowledged that Allaah has no partner, but they still associated partners with Allaah while knowing that these are false gods.
The Mushriks (the pagans) of Makkah, the saint worshipers, and the grave worshipers (those who beseech the dead) fall into these category.
⚡️B) Then there are those who worship everything other than Allaah.
{And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others rather than Allaah, (taking them) as rivals (to Allaah). They love them as they (should) love Allaah.}
📚 [Surah al-Baqarah (2): 165]
The Satanists and the Hindus are from this category. They will worship anything except Allaah and they will follow everything except the truth.
۩•۞•۩
3. Then there are those who worship their desires:
Many people are misled into thinking that their freedom becomes restricted if they worship Allaah. They feel they have the freedom of choice and speech, and that they can do and say whatever they want. They believe that their freedom is in not worshiping Allaah or anything else. But what they don't realize is that the greatest freedom is in worshiping Allaah willingly, and that those who do not worship Allaah either end up worshiping Shaitaan or their own desires, there is no escape from this, as Allaah تعالى said:
{Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allaah has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allaah? Then will you not be reminded?}
📚 [Surah al-Jaathiyah (45): 23]
🔥The Purpose of Intention
👉 What is the purpose of intention (Niyyah)?
⚡️The purpose of intention is to:
1️⃣ Distinguish for whom it is being done.
2️⃣ And to distinguish between the various actions.
🌴🌴🌴
1️⃣ For whom is it being done: Niyyah is for the purpose of differentiating the objectives in the performance of deeds.
Example:
a) Was the action performed sincerely for the sake of Allaah تعالى alone without associating any partners?
{وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا اللَّـهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ حُنَفَاءَ وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ الْقَيِّمَةِ}
{And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allaah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform As-Salaah (the prayers) and give Zakaah (obligatory charity), and that is the right religion.}
📚[Surah al-Bayyinah (98):5]
OR b) was it done partially for Allaah and partially for other than Him?
Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Allaah said: {I am most independent and free from needing any associates. Whoever performs a deed while associating partners with me (doing so for others along with Me), I shall abandon him along with his setting up of associates to Me (shirk)}”
📚[Saheeh Muslim (7114)]
A man said: Messenger of Allaah! A man wishes to take part in jihad in Allaah’s path desiring some worldly advantage? The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “He will have no reward.” The people thought it terrible, and they said to the man: Go back to the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم, for you might not have made him understand well. He, therefore, (went and again) asked: Messenger of Allaah, a man wishes to take part in jihad in Allaah’s path desiring some worldly advantage? He صلى الله عليه وسلم replied: “There is no reward for him.” They again said to the man: Return to the Messenger of Allaah He, therefore, said to him third time. He صلى الله عليه وسلم replied: “There is no reward for him.”
📚[Sunan Abu Dawood (2516) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. Shaikh Ahmad Shaakir graded it “Saheeh” in Musnad Ahmad (15/16)]
OR c) was it done completely for other than Allaah?
Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “If anyone acquires knowledge of things by which Allaah's good pleasure is sought, but acquires it only to get some worldly advantage, he will not experience the arf (the odor) of Paradise.”
Ibaadah: Example: to differentiates between Dhuhr prayer and `Asr prayer; or to differentiate between Zakaah (which is obligatory) and Sadaqah (which is optional); or to differentiate between the Fasting of the month of Ramadhaan and the optional fasting other than that of Ramadhaan.
📚[Sunan Abu Dawood (3664), Ibn Maajah (252) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]
🌴🌴🌴
2️⃣ Distinguishing between the various acts: The other purpose of the Niyyah is:
a) To differentiate between the various acts of
b) To differentiate between actions of worship and actions which are habits or actions which happen by accident: Example: to differentiate when the person is washing from ceremonial impurity and when he is washing for cooling down. Similarly, when a person who is ceremonially impure falls into water and then prays; his prayer is invalid due to his intention. He did not intend to worship but rather he only fell by accident.
#8 The scarcity of the grateful servants in the world is a sign that they are – along with the Prophets – His chosen few:
اعْمَلُوا آلَ دَاوُودَ شُكْرًا ۚ وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُورُ
{“Work, O family of Dawood, in gratitude.” But (only) few of My slaves are grateful}
📚 [Surah Saba (34): 13]
⚡️ It is an honor from Allaah عز وجل that we are among those few who worship Him alone, without associating partner(s) with Him in worship.
{And most of them believe not in Allaah except while they associate others with Him (in worship)}
📚[Surah Yusuf (12): 106]

https://ilm4all.blogspot.com/2024/05/shukr-gratitude-what-it-means-and-how.html
Whoever says الحمد لله when he receives a favor from Allaah has indeed praised Him, but if he really wants to thank Allaah, and if he wants to preserve this blessing, then let him put that blessing into good use. He should use it in Allaah's obedience and should not use it in Allaah’s disobedience. He should use it in what pleases Allaah and should not use it in what displeases Allaah. He should use it in what will bring him closer to Allaah and should not use it in what will distance him from Allaah.
The Prophet ﷺ used to offer prayer at night (for such a long time) that his feet would become swollen. I said: “O Allaah's Messenger ﷺ! Why do you do it since Allaah has forgiven you your faults of the past and those to follow?" He ﷺ said: ❝Shouldn't I love to be a thankful slave (of Allaah)?❞ When he became old, he prayed while sitting, but if he wanted to perform a bowing, he would get up, recite (some other verses) and then perform the bowing.
📚[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (4837) and the wording is his, and Saheeh Muslim (2820). This is also reported in the Saheehain on the authority of al-Mugheerah
Not preceding the Imaam in prayer
One should neither precede nor do the actions simultaneously with the Imaam.
Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Isn't he who raises his head before the Imaam afraid that Allaah may transform his head into that of a donkey or his figure (face) into that of a donkey?” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (691)]
Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Does not the one who raises his head before the Imaam fear that Allaah may turn his head into the head of a donkey?” [Saheeh Muslim (859)]
Shaikh Abdullaah al-Basaam رحمه الله said:
eef” by Shaikh al-Albaanee in Dha
The Imaam is appointed so that he is followed in the Salaah and that it is completed while following him; so that the follower goes from one position to another (from standing to bowing and the like) after the Imaam has changed his position. This way proper following is achieved.
If the one who is following precedes (the Imaam in prayer) then the purpose of Imaamah (having a leader in prayer) is lost. That is why such a strict threat has come for the one who raises his head before his Imaam that his head or his face will be transformed into that of a donkey. His head would be transformed from the best features to that of the ugliest one; a retribution for this part of the body which transgressed in the prayer.
The scholars are unanimous that it is forbidden for the followers to race with the Imaam in prayer because of this strict warning, but they have differed if the prayer is invalidated or not. The majority view that it becomes void.
Imaam Ahmad رحمه الله said: “There is no prayer for the one who precedes the Imaam in the Salaah.”
His companions said: “Whoever precedes the Imaam in the pillars of prayer like bowing or prostration, then upon him is to return back (to his previous position) so that he follows the Imaam to it. But if he intentionally does not do that and the Imaam catches him up in that position, then his prayer becomes void.”
The correct view is that of Imaam Ahmad that whoever intentionally precedes the Imaam, then his prayer is invalid and this is what Shaikh al-Islaam, Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله, also followed. This is because the threat entails prohibition; and the prohibition entails voidness.
Benefits from this Hadeeth:
1. Prohibition of raising the head before the Imaam in Sujood and the threat in it is an evidence for its prohibition. There is no threat given except in the prohibited matters. And the threat here is with transformation (of the head) and it is among the severest of punishments.
2. (This prohibition is not limited to prostration only), it also implies to competing with the Imaam in every (other) action as well. This is not based on some analogy alone; rather it is based on what al-Bazzaar has reported from the Hadeeth of Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم that: “The one who lowers or raises (his head) before the Imaam, his forelock is in the hand of Shaitaan.” [Musnad al-Bazzaar (9404) and graded as “Dhaeef al-Jaami
(1527) and Dhaeef al-Targheeb (276)]
Allaahu liman hamidah’, say: ‘Rabbanaa wa laka l-hamd’. And when he prays standing, you should pray standing. And when he prays sitting, all of you should pray sitting.”[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree and Saheeh Muslim]]
[Note: There is another authentic Hadeeth with Shaikh al-Bassaam رحمه الله discusses in the next chapter:
Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه reported Allaah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم saying: “The Imaam is appointed to be followed, so do not differ from him. So say the Takbeer when he says it, and bow down when he bows down and when he says: ‘Sami
3. The obligation of following the Imaam in the Salaah by the followers.
4. The Rewards (or retribution) depends on the kind of deed. So a person is threatened with the transformation (of the head) because of his raising the head.
If you had strived and exerted a lot of effort, and yet the results were not fair to you, then remember this Aayah:
وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰ
{And that his effort is going to be seen}
📚[Surah al-Najm (53):40]
Allaah is seeing your diligent efforts, your hard work, your fatigue, the sleepless nights, the troubles that you are going through, the burden that you are carrying, and your attempts to reach the desired goals.
You won’t be held accountable for the end results, but you will be judged based on your intentions, your efforts, and your determination; and you will be rewarded for all your hard work and patience. Allaah تعالى will reward you with something better which is with Him, and which will make you forget the bitterness of the hardships that you had suffered as if you suffered nothing.
So, do not let the outcome of your actions make you feel low and dejected. This is not the end. You tried and Allaah تعالى has seen your efforts, and this is what should suffice.

Be Nice To Everyone,
For The Moment Will Come To Say The Goodbyes,
And That Time Is Not Fixed.
{Is he whom We have promised an excellent promise (Paradise), which he will find true, like him whom We have made to enjoy the luxuries of the life of (this) world, then on the Day of Resurrection, he will be among those brought up (to be punished in the Hell-fire)?}
📚 [Surah al-Qasas (28): 61]
And there are many more similar Ayaat.
Whenever you will compare yourself with those who are more affluent than you, you will remain disappointed and unsatisfied. Rather, look at those who are below you, then you will realize and cherish the blessings of Allaah upon you, as Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: ❝Look at those who are inferior to you and do not look at those who are superior to you, for this will keep you from belittling Allah's favour to you.❞
📚 [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree and Saheeh Muslim]
5️⃣ Do not be of those, who when something of the treasures and comfort of this world is given to them, they become pleased, but when it is taken away from them, they become displeased:
فَأَمَّا الْإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ * وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ
{As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me."But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!"}
📚 [Surah al-Fajr (89): 15-16]
Allaah تعالى also mentioned:
{If they are given part thereof, they are pleased, but if they are not given thereof, behold! They are enraged!}
📚 [Surah Tawbah (9): 58]
The Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Perish the slave of Dinaar, Dirham, Qateefah (thick soft cloth), and Khameesah (a garment), for if he is given, he is pleased; otherwise he is dissatisfied.❞
📚 [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (2886, 2887, 6435)]
6️⃣ Be grateful if you receive and be patient if you don’t
The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝How wonderful is the case of a believer; for all his affairs are good for him, and this applies only to a believer. If something good happens to him, he is thankful for it and that is good for him; if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him.❞
📚 [Saheeh Muslim (7138)]Aaishah رضي الله عنها said: "When the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ saw something he liked, he would say:
matihee tatimmus-saalihaat❞
❝Alhamdu lillaahil-ladhee bi ni
(Praise is to Allaah by Whose grace good deeds are completed).
And if he saw something that he disliked, he would say:
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ
❝Alhamdu lillaahi `alaa kulli haal❞
(Praise is to Allaah in all circumstances)."
📚[Sunan Ibn Maajah (3803) and graded as "Hasan li ghairihee" (good due to supporting chain) by Shaikh al-Albaanee in al-Saheehah (265)]
7️⃣ Be constant in your Ibaadah and do not make it conditional, i.e., you will only worship if you get something or else you will stop. Rather, worship Allaah till your death, whether you get something or not.
{And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death)}
📚[Surah al-Hijr (15): 99]
{And among mankind is he who worships Allaah as it were, upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts back to disbelief after embracing Islaam). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss.}
📚[Surah al-Hajj (22): 11]
AHAADEETH:
#1
