Allaah blessed us with Tawheed and Imaan, yet many chose for their people Shirk and Kufr.

Allaah blessed us with the recitation of the Qur'aan, yet many chose for their people music and singing.

Allaah blessed us with the Sunnah, yet many chose for their people the Bidah.

Allaah blessed us with Ittibaa
(following the teachings of Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم), yet many chose for their people to follow the way of other than the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Allaah blessed us with modesty, yet many opened for their people the doors of immorality.

Allaah blessed us with following the Straight Path, yet many chose for their people the crooked path.

Allaah blessed us with Light of Guidance and Knowledge, yet many chose for their people to remain upon the darkness of ignorance and misguidance.

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ بَدَّلُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّـهِ كُفْرًا وَأَحَلُّوا قَوْمَهُمْ دَارَ الْبَوَارِ

From the actions that lead to Paradise: Upholding ties of kinship:

Eyaaḍh Ibn Ḥimaar رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝From the inhabitants of Paradise will be three (types of people): A just successful ruler who is truthful and has been guided towards success, a man who is merciful and kind hearted towards his relatives and to every pious Muslim, and the one who refrains from begging despite having a large family to support.❞ [1]

Abdullaah Ibn Salaam رضي الله عنه narrated: When the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ came to al-Madeenah, the people rushed to meet him, and it was said: “The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ has come! The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ has come! The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ has come!” Three times. I came with the people to see him, and when I saw his face clearly, I recognized that his face was not the face of a liar. The first thing I heard him ﷺ say was: ❝O people! Spread (the greeting of) Salaam, feed others, uphold the ties of kinship, and pray during the night when people are sleeping, and you will enter Paradise with Salaam (peace).❞ [2]

For those who sever ties of kinship, their forgiveness and actions are delayed from being accepted:

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrated: The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝The actions of the children of Aadam are presented before Allaah تعالى every Thursday evening, the night before Jumuah, but He does not accept the actions of the one who has severed ties of kinship.❞ [1]

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrated: The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝The gates of Paradise are opened on Mondays and Thursdays❞ (in another narration: ❝People’s deeds are presented before Allaah on Mondays and Thursdays❞), and every slave (of Allaah) - who does not associate anything with Allaah in worship - is granted forgiveness (of minor sins). But the person in whose heart there is grudge against his brother (In another narration, the wording is: ❝those who boycott each other❞) will not be pardoned. With regard to them, it is said twice: {Delay these two until they are reconciled}.❞ [2]

Perhaps this could also mean that severing ties of kinship could be the reason why there is a delay in the answering of the supplications.

Those who cut off ties of kinship will receive a swift punishment in this world before they die, and a punishment awaits them in the Hereafter after Resurrection:

Bakkar Ibn Abdul Azeez reported from his grandfather that the Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Allaah will defer whatever wrong actions He تعالى wills until the Day of Resurrection except for tyrannical behavior, disobedience to parents, or cutting off ties of kinship. He will punish the person - who commits these things - in this world before he dies.❞ [1]

Abu Bakrah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝There is no wrong action which Allaah is swifter to punish in this world – in addition to the punishment which He has stored up for the wrongdoer in the Hereafter – than oppression, disobedience to parents, and cutting off ties of kinship. [The swiftest of good deeds in retribution is the (act of) fulfilling the ties of kinship. So much so that it is possible that a family can be evil, but their wealth and numbers will increase if they fulfill the ties of kinship.]❞ [2]

Auf narrated that Khaalid al-Ribee said: We were told: “Among the things whose punishment is hastened…” or he said: “Among the things whose punishment is not delayed are: when a trust is betrayed, when a good deed is not acknowledged, when ties of kinship are severed, and when people are oppressed.” [3]

Your relationship with Allaah depends on how good your relationship is with your relatives:

The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝The word “Al-Raḥm” (the womb) derives its name from al-Raḥmaan (i.e., Allaah) [and is suspended from al-Arsh (the Throne)]. Allaah تعالى says: {He who keeps good relations with you, I (Allaah) will maintain a connection with him, but whosoever severs relations with you, I will sever connection with him.}❞

Abdullaah bin Amr رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet ﷺ: ❝The Most Merciful has mercy upon those who have mercy. Have mercy to those upon the earth, and the One above the heavens will have mercy upon you. [And the womb (the name al-Raḥm – ties of kinship) is derived from al-Raḥmaan, so whoever connects it, then Allaah will connect him, and whoever cuts it then, Allaah will cut him off].❞

The Significance of Kinship in Islaam:

Upholding ties of kinship in Islaam is not a choice but a command from Allaah. There are several Aayaat and Aḥaadeeth about this, a few of them are as follows:

Allaah تعالى said:
وَآتِ ذَا الْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُ
{And give the relative his right} [1]

Allaah تعالى repeated the Command with more emphasis, saying:
فَآتِ ذَا الْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُ
{So give the relative his right} [2]

He تعالى also said:
وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا ۖ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا وَبِذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ‏
{Worship Allaah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives} [3]

He تعالى also said:
وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي تَسَاءَلُونَ بِهِ وَالْأَرْحَامَ
{and fear Allaah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship).} [4]

Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Whoever believes in Allaah and the Last Day, should serve his guest generously; and whoever believes in Allaah and the Last Day, should uphold the ties of kinship (i.e., keep good relationship with his kith and kin); and whoever believes in Allaah and the Last Day, must speak good or remain silent.❞ [5]

Allaah تعالى so loves the action of upholding the ties of kinship that He عز وجل instilled it as a part of the characteristic of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, even before he ﷺ became a Prophet or received any revelation.

When Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ first met Jibreel عليه السلام in the cave of Ḥiraa’, he ﷺ returned to his family with his heart still trembling. He ﷺ went to Khadeejah رضي الله عنها and said: ❝Wrap me up, wrap me up.❞ So, they wrapped him up till the fear subsided. He ﷺ then spoke to Khadeejah and informed her of what had happened, saying: ❝O Khadija! What is wrong with me? I was afraid that something terrible might happen to me.❞ She replied: ❝Never! But receive the glad tidings! By Allaah! Allaah will never disgrace you. For by Allaah, you keep good relations with your kith and kin, speak the truth, help the poor and the needy, serve your guests generously, and assist those stricken with calamities.❞ [6] [7]

[7] The Prophet’s ﷺ statement: ❝I fear that something may happen to me❞; this was because he ﷺ witnessed an event that he had never experienced or imagined before. That was why Khadeejah رضي الله عنها said to him: “Never! By Allaah, Allaah will never disgrace.” The statement relates to her knowledge and understanding of the exemplary behavior and characteristics that Allaah تعالى had instilled in him ﷺ, and that those who possess the qualities of righteousness and goodness will never be disgraced in this world or the Hereafter. She then reminded him ﷺ of his virtuous characteristics and exemplary traits, saying: “You keep good relations with your kith and kin, and you speak the truth.” He ﷺ was famous for these traits with those who accepted his message and those who rejected it. 🌺 Receive the glad tidings O Believers!

Allaah تعالى said:

{لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا اكْتَسَبَتْ}

{He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned}
📚[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 286]

❝Using the verb "Kasabat" (earned) while mentioning the good deeds is evidence that a person will earn the reward for even the minutest action he might have done, rather he will be rewarded for even the intention he had made in his heart.

While mentioning the evil deeds, the verb "Iktasabat" (earned) is used, which is evidence that the evil deed is not recorded for a person till he actually does it and strives for it.❞

Narrated Ibn `Abbaas رضي الله عنهما, from the Prophet ﷺ, from what he has related from his Lord (Allaah) تبارك وتعالى: ❝Allaah ordered (the appointed angels over you) that the good and the bad deeds be written, and He تعالى then showed (the way) how (to write). If somebody intends to do a good deed and he does not do it, then Allaah will write for him a full good deed (in his account with Him); and if he intends to do a good deed and actually did it, then Allaah will write for him (in his account) with Him (its reward equal) from ten to seven hundred times to many more times: and if somebody intended to do a bad deed and he does not do it, then Allaah will write a full good deed (in his account) with Him, and if he intended to do it (a bad deed) and actually did it, then Allaah will write one bad deed (in his account) .❞

💠 Be patient with your children:

It is not proper for parents to supplicate against their children for being disobedient or not listening to them. The prohibition of this has been mentioned in some of the Aḥaadeeth. The parents should beware lest, due to their supplications against their own children, the children are placed in difficulty, and the consequences will fall upon the parents. Even if children are disobedient to their parents and irrespective of how hopeless a situation may seem, there is always hope for them to change. So, the parents should not quickly resort to supplicating against them.

The Prophet ﷺ forbade from supplicating against one’s children, one’s wealth, and one’s own self, lest that be made at a time when the supplications are answered. He ﷺ said: ❝Do not pray against yourselves, do not pray against your children, do not pray against your wealth (and possessions) - lest you happen to do it at a time when Allaah is asked for something (i.e., the times when the supplications are accepted), and He grants your request.❞ [1]

The parents’ supplication for or against their children is answered as the Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Three supplications are responded to, there being no doubt about them: the prayer of one who is wronged, the prayer of the traveler, and the supplication of a father for his child.❞ [2]

In another narration, the wording is: ❝and the supplication of a father against his son.❞ [3]

Broken-hearted parents only supplicate against their children when entirely driven to the wall. Naturally, a supplication arising from the bottom of one’s heart stands the best chance of being answered by Allaah. Instead, the parents should be patient and supplicate for their children instead of against them. They should supplicate to Allaah for their guidance and to set their affairs straight.

It is Allaah’s Mercy, Forbearance, and Kindness that He تعالى does not answer the erroneous supplications made by the people in haste or when angry, especially the supplications of the angry parents against their children, as Allaah تعالى said:

﴿وَيَدْعُ الْإِنسَانُ بِالشَّرِّ دُعَاءَهُ بِالْخَيْرِ ۖ وَكَانَ الْإِنسَانُ عَجُولًا﴾
{And man invokes (Allaah) for evil as he invokes (Allaah) for good and man is ever hasty} [4]

Meaning: When a person is angry with someone, he invokes (saying): “O Allaah! Curse him,” or something similar. Allaah is informing us that we should not be hasty; instead, we should be patient.

Allaah تعالى also said:
{And were Allaah to hasten for mankind the evil (they invoke for themselves and their children, etc., while in a state of anger) as He hastens for them the good (they invoke), then they would have been ruined. So, We leave those who expect not their meeting with Us, in their trespasses, wandering blindly in distraction} [5]

Meaning: The evil the people invoke upon themselves when in rage or the punishment they ask to be brought down upon them. Had Allaah accepted their supplications for evil – the way He تعالى accepts their supplication for good – they would have been destroyed.

Mujaahid said: “It is the man saying to his son or wealth when he is angry: ‘O Allaah don't bless him (or it) and curse him (or it).’” [6]

Al-Ḥaafiẓh Ibn Katheer رحمه الله said: “Here Allaah tells us of His Forbearance and Kindness towards His slaves, for He تعالى does not respond to their supplications when they pray against themselves or their wealth, or their children during times of grief or anger. He تعالى knows that they do not truly intend evil for themselves, so He تعالى doesn’t respond to them out of kindness and mercy, like the way He does when they pray for themselves or their wealth or their children for goodness, blessing, and growth. Had He تعالى responded to all of their evil requests, it (their evil supplications) would have destroyed them. However, people should avoid praying for evil as much as possible.” [7]

⚡The Test is not about what you'll receive and what you won't receive in this world - of the comfort, wealth, status, fame, children, etc.

⛔ If comfort was the objective, then remember that the bedding of the Prophet ﷺ was made of palm fibers, and when he used to lay on it, it would leave marks on his back.

⛔ If amassing wealth was the objective, then remember that months would go by and the only thing that the Prophet ﷺ and his family would survive on were water and dates.

⛔ If children were the objective, then remember that all the Prophet's ﷺ children passed away during his lifetime except for Faatimah رضي الله عنها, who passed away six months after the Prophet's death.

👉 The Test is whether you'll be steadfast in the face of the storm - when you feel abandoned, when the world with its vastness becomes constricted for you - obeying and worshiping Allaah تعال till death overtakes you.

📖 Allaah تعالى said:

{So Glorify the Praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death).}

...Nor would have we given in charity, nor would have we prayed.

Why this Ummah does not have many people who received inspirations like those in the previous nations used to have?!

بسم الله والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله ، وبعد

The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: ❝There had been among the people before you Muhaddathoon (inspired persons) and if there were any such among my Ummah Umar Ibn al-Khattaab would be one of them.❞

Ibn Wahb explained the word Muhaddathoon as: “those who receive hint from the High (Mulhamoon).”

[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (3689, 3469) andSaheeh Muslim (5901) from the Hadeeth of
Aaishah and Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنهما]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
I heard Shaikh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله saying: ❝It has been affirmed that there were [Muhaddathoon (people who would receive inspirations)] in the nations before us. But there existence in this Ummah has been suspended with the conditional clause: “if” even though it is the best of nations. The nations before us were depended on them (i.e. the Muhaddathoon), whereas this Ummah is not in need of them because of the superiority of its Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and the perfection of its Message. Therefore, after this (i.e. after the coming of the Messenger and the Message), Allaah تعالى did not make this Ummah have the need to depend upon people who receive inspirations, or people who claim of Kashf, [1] or dreams [2]. This deferring is because of the perfection of this Ummah and its independence from such need, and not because there is some deficiency in it.❞

The Muhaddath is the one whose heart receives inspiration about something, and then it happens according to the way he narrates.

Our Shaikh also said: ❝The Siddeeq (the steadfast affirmer of truth, example: Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه) is more perfect than a Muhaddath, because he (the Siddeeq) is made free of want from al-Tahdeeth (i.e. narrating what the heart has been inspired with), al-Ilhaam (seeing a dream), and al-Kashf, because of the perfection of his Siddeeqah (the attribute of affirming the truth) and because of his complying (to the Commands of the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم). He has completely surrendered his heart, his secrets, his outer (actions) and inner (feelings) to (the Commandments of) the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. So he is independent of things other than him (the Messenger).❞

[Madaarij al-Saalikeen (1/63-64)]

[1] In dreams a person might see distant places or things whilst asleep, but in Kashf, the Sufees claim to: “see something distant, absent or from the Unseen in the state of wakefulness.” The Sufees consider Kashf to be an important source of hidden knowledge for their elders and Shuyookhs.

[2] Seeing a good dream is from the 46th part of Nubuwway (Prophethood) and it is a way of receiving glad tidings for the Beleivers, as mentioned in the Saheehain. But what the Soofees claim is that they receive new revelations or methods of worship in their dreams after the Deen has been completed and perfected. They also claim to receive revelations directly from Allaah, as they say:

حدثني قلبي عن ربي

My heart informed me from my Lord…

{And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allaah or says: “It has been inspired to me,” while nothing has been inspired to him, and one who says, “I will reveal [something] like what Allaah revealed.”}

⚠Do not abandon the Sunnah or substitute it with something YOU might feel is “better”, nor should you abandon it only because YOU could not understand the reason behind it.

Narrated Zaid bin Aslam from his father who said: Umar bin Al-Khattaab رضي الله عنه addressed the Corner (Black Stone) saying: ❝By Allaah! I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet ﷺ touching (and kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you.❞

Then he kissed it and said: ❝There is no reason for us to do Ramal (i.e. rapid walking for men in the first three rounds around the Ka
bah during Tawaaf) except that we wanted to show off before the pagans, and now Allaah has destroyed them.❞

Umar added: ❝(NEVERTHELESS), THE PROPHET ﷺ DID THAT AND WE DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE IT (i.e. Ramal).❞

Umar رضي الله عنه kissed the Black Stone even though he knew that it could neither harm nor benefit anyone. He saw the Prophet ﷺ doing it, and that was enough a reason for him to do it.

🌟2) Regarding Ramal, even though the reason behind it was to show to the Mushriks that the climate of Madeenah had not weakened the Muslims physically. After the conquest of Makkah, and especially during the Khilaafah of `Umar, there were no Mushriks left in Makkah, yet they did the Ramal, in obedience to the Prophet’s Sunnah, even though the reason behind it was not there.

🔥3) These are two important points to remember because when a way has been prescribed in the Sunnah then our logic cannot supersede it. I have personally heard people raise rhetorical questions to justify using logic over religious edicts repeatedly over the years. Now I am not reluctant to call it a trend. Example: If we found an alternative way to do Dhabeehah slaughter that caused less pain for the animal and drained more blood, would we adopt that method of ritual slaughter? In this particular case, the asker was advocating that indeed we should as it would meet the aims that we know about relating to said slaughter. In reality, this is an arrogant thought because such thought stems out of the propaganda that the Islaamic method of slaughtering is barbaric and cruel while the "Western" method is less painful to the animals. Do these Muslims forget that the Prophet ﷺ was sent as a Mercy, and that he ﷺ instructed to sharpen the knives and to avoid slaughtering one animal in front of the other? Had there been any method less painful to the animals, don't you think he ﷺ would have employed it?

🚩This does not mean that we cannot use technology if it serves the same purpose. Example: using loud speakers while giving Adhaan, or using cars and others vehicles as means of transportation instead of horses and camels.

🚫 Our welfare is not decided by who will be the next president of the US or any other nation.

🚫 Our welfare is not decided by who supports us and who is against us.

🚫 Our welfare is not decided by the “numbers”.

🌟OUR WELFARE IS ONLY THROUGH ISLAAM;
🌟 THROUGH REAL OBEDIENCE TO ALLAAH;
🌟 THROUGH RETURNING BACK TO HIS BOOK AND THE SUNNAH OF HIS MESSENGER صلى الله عليه وسلم

🌴🌴🌴

Umar رضي الله عنه said: The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

❝By this Book (i.e. the Qur’aan), Allaah exalts some peoples and degrade others.❞

📚[Saheeh Muslim]

🌴🌴🌴

Our honor is in following Islaam.
Umar Ibn al-Khattaab رضي الله عنه set out for al-Shaam with Abu Ubaydah bin al-Jarraah رضي الله عنه. On the way, they came upon a deep creek (which they needed to cross). So Umar came down off his camel, took off his sandals and carried them on his shoulders. Then he took the reign of the camel and began plowing through the water. Abu Ubaydah said: “O Ameer al-Mu’mineen! You are doing this - you took off your sandals and carry them on your shoulders while you cross the creek? I fear that the people of the village will think of you without honor.” Umar replied:

❝Oh Abu Ubaydah! Had someone other than you made such a statement, I would have made him an example for the Ummah of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم (i.e. he would have punished him). Verily, we were a disgraceful people and Allaah honored us with Islaam, so if we seek honor from other than Islaam, then Allaah will humiliate us.❞

📚 [Al-Haakim in his Al-Mustadrak (207) and said it is “Saheeh” as per the condition of al-Bukhaaree and Muslim, and al-Dhahabee agreed with him. Shaikh al-Albaanee also agreed with them in al-Saheehah (1/118)]

🌴🌴🌴

Our honor is in being sincere Muslims:

{But honour belongs to Allaah and His Messenger, and to the BELIEVERS; but the Hypocrites know not.}

📚[Surah al-Munaafiqoon]

🌴🌴🌴

Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

❝By Allaah! The enemy did not wrong you except after the Lord abandoned you, so do not think that Shaitaan overpowers you, it is just that the Protector (Allaah تعالى) Who has forsaken you. Beware of your soul, for no misfortune befalls you except because of it, so do not ever be reconciled with it. By Allaah! Its honor is derived from its submission (to Allaah), its dignity is derived from its subservience, its reform is derived from its breakdown, its comfort is derived from its hardship, its security is derived from its fear (of Allaah), and its pleasure is derived from its sorrow.❞

📚[al-Fawaaid (1/68)]

Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-
Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:

❝Do you see any destruction more severe than the destruction of the Ummah nowadays? They are Billion in numbers, they are nearly one-fourth of the world population, but they have no value in the global community in spite of having moral force, material power and manpower. But when they neglected the Deen of Allaah, Allaah عز وجل forsook them, so that a person trusts the oppressors among the Kuffar more than he trusts his own brothers among the Muslims – and this is an ordeal and a calamity.❞

The one who breaks up ties of kinship will not enter Paradise until he receives the punishment:

Jubair Ibn Muṭim رضي الله عنه said that he heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: ❝The person who severs the ties of kinship will not enter Paradise.❞ [1]

Perhaps what is meant is that the person will not enter Paradise along with those who will be the foremost to enter it. Instead, he will be punished, either by delaying his entrance or through punishment in Hellfire for as long as Allaah تعالى wants. Then he will be taken to Paradise. [2]

FOOTNOTES:
[1] Ṣaḥeeḥ al-Bukhaaree (5984) and Ṣaḥeeḥ Muslim (2556-18 & 19)
[2] Shaikh Ibn al-
Uthaymeen رحمه الله explained the Ḥadeeth, saying: “If someone says: “The Ḥadeeth indicates that the one who severs ties of kinship will not enter Paradise, while it is known that only the Kuffaar will abide in Hellfire forever. So, is the one who severs ties of kinship a Kaafir?”
The answer: No! So, then, how can we align this? This can be explained by saying that there are two aspects to entering Paradise. The first aspect is the absolutely perfect entrance (into Paradise) without prior facing any punishment. The second aspect is an eventual entrance (into paradise), meaning there may be punishment for a set term prior (to entering Paradise). So, which of these two entrances is intended here?
It is the second aspect. The negation here means that a person will not enter Paradise with a perfect entrance - where there will be no prior punishment. Instead, there will be punishment for severing ties of kinship; eventually, he will be taken to Paradise.
So, if a person says: “Is this generalization confined?” We say: Yes! It is confined because of the saying Allaah تعالى:
﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ﴾
{Indeed, Verily, Allaah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him in worship, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills.} [Surah al-Nisaa’ (4): 48 & 116]
So, based on this, it is possible that the one who severed ties of kinship could be forgiven and be allowed to enter Paradise.”
The Shaikh further continues: “The benefit (we learn from this) is that every sin, other than Shirk, is under the Will of Allaah (i.e., He تعالى may punish whomever He Wills and He may forgive whomever He Wills), and this can be dangerous. Who can guarantee that Allaah has Willed to forgive him? No one! Therefore, the threat is real, and the danger is real, but there is a possibility that Allaah تعالى may pardon a person out of His Grace and Kindness.” [Sharḥ Ṣaḥeeḥ Muslim (7/350)]

Among the Final Instructions of the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ:

Abdullaah ibn Masood رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Fear Allaah and maintain ties of the womb (kinship).❞ [1]

Anas bin Maalik رضي الله عنه narrated: The Prophet ﷺ, during his (fatal) illness, said: ❝Maintain the ties of kinship! Maintain the ties of kinship!❞ [2]

Just before his death, the Prophet ﷺ warned against a few things. He ﷺ warned the people against neglecting the prayers and reminded them to take good care of the slaves. [3] In this narration, he ﷺ warned against negligence in fulfilling the rights of the relatives and severing ties of kinship.

From Abu Dharr رضي الله عنه said: “My companion (the Prophet ﷺ) ordered me with seven things: (1) He ordered me to love the poor and be close to them, (2) he ordered me to look at those below me and not to look at those above me, (3) he ordered me to keep the ties of the womb even if others didn’t want to, (4) he ordered me not to ask anyone for anything, (5) he ordered me to speak the truth even if it was bitter, (6) he ordered me not to fear - for the sake of Allaah - the blame of the blamers, (7) he ordered me to frequently say: لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ (Laa hawla walaa quwwata illa billaah) (there is no might or power except with Allaah), for it is from the treasure underneath the Throne. (And in another narration, “It is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise.”) [4]

Al-Amaanah and al-Raḥm will testify for you or against you:

In the Ḥadeeth about the Intercession, Imaam Muslim narrated the following from Abu Hurairah and Ḥudhaifah رضي الله عنهما that after narrating how the people will go from one Prophet to another, from Aadam to Eesaa عليهم السلام, asking them to intercede on their behalf, but all of them will refuse. Then, the people will come to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ continued, saying: ❝So they would come to Muhammad ﷺ. He would then be granted permission (to intercede). Al-Amaanah (Trustworthiness, Fidelity) and al-Raḥm (ties of kinship) would be sent forth and will stand on the sides of the al-Ṣiraaṭ (i.e., the Bridge set over Hell-fire) to the right and the left…❞ [1]

Ibn al-Ḥajar رحمه الله said: “That is, they will stand on either side of al-Ṣiraaṭ. The meaning is that al-Amaanah and al-Raḥm - due to their great importance and the nobility of what is required from the servants to carry out in terms of observing their rights – they (al-Amaanah and al-Raḥm) will stand there for the trustworthy and the traitor, and the one who upholds the ties of kinship and the one who severs it. They will appeal (intercede) on behalf of the one who fulfilled (the trust and upheld the ties) and testify against the one who broke (the trust or severed the ties).” [2]

Al-Nawawee رحمه الله said: “They will stand up to demand their rights from everyone who would want to pass it (the Bridge).” [3]

Meaning: On the Day of Resurrection, al-Amaanah and al-Raḥm will appear in a form that Allaah تعالى Wills for them, and one of them will stand on one side of al-Ṣiraaṭ and the other on the other side, and they will appeal on behalf of their companion or testify against them. This will be done so that trustworthy people will be distinguished from betrayers, and those who used to uphold ties of kinship will be distinguished from those who severed them - in front of everyone. This will be a source of joy to the trustworthy people and those who maintained the ties, and a disgrace to the betrayers and those who severed the ties. In this, there is a strong motivation to take care of them and an encouragement to fulfill their rights, for taking care of them brings many advantages and great benefits. [4]

🌟 The tilting of the branches with its fruits in Paradise for its inhabitants:

📖 The saying of Allaah تعالى:

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ

{Reclining upon the couches lined with silk brocade, and the fruits of the two Gardens will be near at hand.}

📚 [Surah al-Rahmaan (55): 54]

🌴🌴🌴

📑 Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen commented saying:
❝The people of knowledge have said: “Whenever a person (in Paradise) will look at the fruits and he desires it, the branch will lean towards him till the fruit will be right in front of him. He will not have to exert any efforts or (even) stand up to reach it. Rather, he would be reclining (and relaxing), looking at the fruit he desires, and it will be lowered for him - by the Command of Allaah تعالى - even though it (the branch) is an inanimate (or nonmoving) thing, but Allaah تعالى will give it an awareness to lower itself whenever the person desires the fruits. And this is not surprising because the trees in general always face the sun. Look the leaves in the first part of the day, you will find them facing the east (in the direction of the sun), and at the end of the day, you will find them facing the west. This is the awareness that it has. Similarly, (the fruits of) the two Gardens will be near at hand, perceiving the desires (of its inhabitant). So, whenever its inhabitant – either male or female – will look at it, it will tilt towards them till it is right in front of them.”❞

Uthaymeen]

The best gift a person can have is: Having good thoughts about Allaah جل وعلا...

...that if you sin, He will punish you, and even in His punishment there is Justice and Mercy for you.

...that if you repent, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

...that if you do good deeds, He will not let your deeds go in vain, and multiply the reward from ten to seven hundred times.

...that if you beseech Him, He will surely respond. He is shy to return empty the hands of His slaves when they raise them up to Him.

🚫 Don't miss out on the Adhkaar after the obligatory Salaah.

بسم الله والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول

Doing the Adhkaar after the obligatory Salaah takes only a few minutes. So, do not belittle its importance, do not rush to go out of the Masjid, and do not rush to offer the Sunnah prayers before doing the Adhkaar.

A person might offer the Salaah from the fear that he will be punished if he misses it. But the one doing the Adhkaar does it purely out of love for Allaah, as there is no fear of punishment if he misses the Adhkaar.

Moreover, during the Salaah, the attacks of Shaitaan increase. The Shaitaan, Khanzab, attacks when the person is in Salaah, distracting him while reciting the Qur’aan, or confusing him whether he is in the third Rakah or the fourth, and so on.

If that is not enough, the person himself has a lot of things going on in his mind. The moment he says the opening Takbeer, all the worldly thoughts come to his mind. He has to finish this job, he has to plan that visit, he should do this, he should have done that, the food is on the stove, etc. etc. This lack of concentration reduces the reward of the Salaah. As mentioned in the Ḥadeeth, a person gets only a third of the reward, while some get only a fifth, and others get only a tenth, depending upon how good they offer the Salaah.

Last, but not the least, the Prophet ﷺ had warned that the first thing that will be raised from this Ummah is Khushoo
. When we say “TO PRAY WITH KHUSHOO`” it means to pray with complete submission, devotion, humility, tranquility (a state of peace and calmness, free from worldly distractions), in the state of being god-fearing. We lack this badly, except those whom Allaah has mercy upon.

🌴 Doing Istighfaar after the Salaah works as seeking Allaah’s forgiveness for the shortcomings in the Salaah.

🌴 Reciting Aayatul-Kursee after every obligatory Salaah will help the person enter Paradise.

🌴 Saying Sub-ḥaan Allaah, Alḥamdulillaah, Allaahu Akbar, 33 times, and rounding it up as 100 by saying: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير, the Prophet ﷺ said about them:

a. The one who recites this after the obligatory Salaah will not be disappointed (by the reward he will receive from Allaah on the Day of Judgment).

b. When the poor emigrants complained to the Prophet ﷺ that the rich ones among them pray like they do and Fast like they do, but they also give Sadaqah and emancipate the slaves. The Prophet ﷺ informed them to do these Adhkaar after the obligatory Salaah, and they will be able to catch up with them.

c. The person's minor sins will be forgiven, even if they are as abundant as the foam of the sea.

d. The Prophet ﷺ said about the Adhkaar after the Salaah that these are the actions that only few are keen on doing them (regularly).

e. He ﷺ also said about being able to do these Adhkaar after the Salaah: ❝This is Grace of Allaah, which He gives to whom He wishes.❞

Keep it simple:
If there is no reference, then do not share it, as well as avoid clicking on the "like" button.

Over the years, it has been noticed that many brothers post statements (in the form of text or picture) and attribute it to a scholar on their wall/page without mentioning the reference. And upon verifying, it turns out that that statement is wrongly attributed to that scholar. Even if the statement is correct in its meaning, it is improper to attribute it to a person who has never said it.

I have seen statements being attributed to the Companions like Alee, Ibn Abbaas and others رضي الله عنهم or to scholars like Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn al-Qayyim, Hasan al-Basree, Ibn Baaz, al-Albaanee رحمهم الله without a proper reference so that one could verify them.

I personally believe that a person who does not quote the reference is being insincere. And I avoid sharing or clicking on the "like" button if I did not or could not verify the post.

There are four issues that comes our way:
1. Statement is quoted without the reference.
2. Statement is correct but the referencing is wrong.
3. Reference is mentioned but the statement is incorrect.
4. Statement is incorrectly attributed and the reference is wrong.
