Haha, right.
During the interview I thought we were on the same page with candidates, but once we hired and started working... All of a sudden I understand that we've got "an architecture austranaunt".
Instead of getting the job done he's rationalizing about DDD and "clean models" kind of stuff 😔
Well. The compensation rates have declined. Much less contacts from recruiters. It's not that easy anymore.

Читать полностью…Yup. Seems like workaholism is in a same row with smoking, drinking, eating disorders and so forth. Any self-destructive addictive behaviors result from unresolved personal issues, aiming to suppress or hide away from them.
Читать полностью…Well, today the last “dev” task in a project was closed, so the 90-day overworking binge is over.
It was like: 12-hour working days, unsolved problems spinning up in a head when going out for a walk, working laying down because the back is ruined by a chair and the legs are ruined by standing desk, hating yourself because it’s already 1AM and you still have not managed to fix that failing test that won’t let you fall asleep.
No traveling, no nature, no people, no desires. Only The Imposter Syndrome holding a heavy whip and slapping myself every time I even try to think I need a break, constantly repeating:
“You could implement <it> in a much better way! You’ve already spent 2 hours on that simple task, how do you even consider yourself a professional? A day off is an award, are you sure you deserve it before we have not finished with <X> yet?”
Still, it took me a whole 3 months to realize that something is.. wrong.
You would have a fast-track :)
You're an admin of the group where people know how to get stuff done in the right way
I have joined a new company. I'm trying to build a team in London, and well, that's a hell of a job.
I've conducted more than 10 interviews, and the overall quality of candidates is kinda sad. The soft skills are amazing, the hards are horrible. It seems to be quite challenging to find a great ninja-candidate as well
My friends are holding on to their current positions. The ones who were laid off are either still looking or landed in contract positions rather than full-time.
Читать полностью…So, it seems like Tesla is having difficult times? A friend of mine was fired. It seems like the truck wasn't as successful, and new layoffs followed
Читать полностью…I cant just walk by when I see a tent in the nature.. Stayed overnight, obviously? What did you cook?
Читать полностью…Oh my... I know that shit when our inner critic (or call it imposter syndrome) takes over. Tough stuff. Seems like you're one step away from burnout, if not there already :/
