Taiko raised another $15 million VC round.

Ethereum layer-2 scaling solution Taiko recently raised a new $15 million Series A funding round, led by Lightspeed Faction, Hashed, Generative Ventures and Token Bay Capital, with participation from previous investors Wintermute Ventures, Amber Group and OKX Ventures, among others.

This results in $37 million total VC funding in Taiko ahead of its mainnet launch.

🎉Preparing for the crypto weekend🚀

As we are heading into the weekend, let's have a short recap of this #cryptoweek so far!

🌤Starknet, an L2 validity rollup, airdropped 7% of its total token supply to eligible wallets; an awaited release that had the crypto community torn. The $STRK token price experienced a rapid rise to ∼ $3.4 but retraced back to the $2 mark and has been trading sideways.

🖼$Pandora and the introduction of the ERC-404 token standard is a breath of fresh air for the NFT space, blending the attributes of fungible and non-fungible tokens.

It allows for the fractionalisation of NFTs via ERC-404 tokens, igniting innovation for lending protocols and other players looking to take advantage of it.

💸BRC-20 is another exciting fungible token standard currently in the limelight.

> The Bitcoin ecosystem is on the rise with lots of startups replicating protocols from the Ethereum ecosystem and implementing them into BTC.

> With a huge gap in terms of TVL (ETH ∼$46 B, BSC ∼$4.2B, ARB ∼$3B, SOL ∼$2B and BTC ∼$1.6B) the upside opportunity for AMMs, lending protocols, aggregators etc. is enormous.

With AI being one of the strongest narratives this week in the cryptoverse, we’ve seen increased volume for such coins:

$AGIX (23.98%), $ALI (12.16%), $FET (18.94%), $OCEAN (13.75%), $ORAI (6.99%)

🛫 Starknet Airdrop🛬

On-chain data shows that #Wintermute may be the market maker, having received 2M $STRK and deposited 500K $STRK to #Binance.

The starknet airdrop has not been received by active community as initially expected.

This can be seen by a recent drop in token price.

There has also been a negative sentiment on crypto twitter with many accounts citing an unfair airdrop where wallets with minimum interaction and transactions received large amounts of tokens compared to more active wallets.

Big wallets of over $1M STRK have dumped their holding producing large selling pressure to the token.

So far, Nethermind has sold a total of 954,100 $STRK for 2.3M $USDC @ $2.41.

FlowTraders received 5M $STRK and sold 653K $STRK($2.48M) @ $3.79 on DEXs.

💼 Bitcoin ETF 💼

Since the launch of the Bitcoin spot ETFs there has been an inflow of $5.06B in the ecosystem.

As of the writing of this post, the total on-chain holdings of BTC ETFs are ₿724.3k, corresponding to 3.69% of the total supply.

Bitcoin is establishing itself as an alternative asset class and a viable investment for TradFi institutions.

It eliminates psychological barriers for institutional investors while producing trickle down effects to the whole industry from increased investments into web3 startups, more DeFi adoption, real-world asset tokenization, better governmental regulation, etc.
