Coinbase has announced that U.S. traders can now trade regulated, leveraged cryptocurrency futures through Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM). CFM offers 2 futures contracts: BTC and ETH, with minimum capital requirements of 1/100 BTC and 1/10 ETH. CFM was approved in August to offer federally regulated cryptocurrency futures trading to eligible U.S. clients. — link

The US CFTC says it has paid out $16 million to whistleblowers this year and received 1,530 tips, most of which involved cryptocurrency. “With the rise of crypto, more retail customers have come under the CFTC’s jurisdiction, making even more critical the efforts of the CFTC’s Whistleblower Program and the Office of Customer Education and Outreach”. — link

Turkey is preparing new legislation covering crypto-assets to persuade an international crime watchdog to remove it from a "grey list" of countries that have taken insufficient action to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. The only remaining issue within the scope of technical compliance is the work related to crypto assets. Reuters reported.

Binance reported $BTC volumes (USDT + TUSD +FDUSD) as a % of total USD volumes from Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, and Gemini (including Binance).
Same data, but removing Binance from the denominator. Binance reportedly doing 8.3x more "volume" than all U.S. exchanges combined.
"Volume" because 0% fee promos from Binance heavily skew reported trading volumes. Shouldn't be ignored, but should be scrutinized...

For years, Fed members saw long term interest rates at 2.25% to 2.50%.
Now, we are seeing a sharp move higher in long-term Fed funds rate expectations toward 3.00%.
This is yet another sign that long-term interest rates are going to be permanently higher.
In fact, current rates on mortgages are in-line with the historical average but they feel much higher.
Consumers, corporations and governments got used to the era of "free" money.
That era is now over.

Just about every metric has shown inflation reaccelerating over the last couple of months.
Core inflation stands near 4% and remains incredibly stubborn.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate stands at 3.8%, near its lowest level in history.
As time goes on, it's becoming more and more clear:
Likely, the only way to get to the Fed's 2% inflation target is through higher unemployment.
A recession may still be needed to tame inflation.
