- 18,000 BTC options are about to expire with a Put Call Ratio of 0.64, a Maxpain point of $62,000 and a notional value of $1.2 billion.
- 280,000 ETH options are about to expire with a Put Call Ratio of 0.74, Maxpain point of $3,050 and a notional value of $800 million.
Crypto markets were weaker this week as volume continued to fall. The outflow dynamics from the US BTC ETF eased, but looking at the Block trade and market trading structure, the weakness in the price has led to a continued weakening of confidence in the market, and IV continues to fall across all major terms, with current IV levels already slightly below the mean water mark, which is supportive, and there is little room to continue to fall at this point in time.
Empirically May has not been a good month for the market, and it is good value for money to buy some monthly puts now.

WSJ: Binance relies on VIP customers for two-thirds of the platform's total trading volume. Investigators took out the Tron Foundation last summer.
The monitoring team also recommended removing DWF. The head of Binance VIP complained. Binance's compliance department believed that there was insufficient evidence, and believed that the head of the monitoring team worked closely with DWF's competitors and fired him. — link
Binance investigators found that DWF manipulated the price of YGG and at least six other tokens and conducted more than $300 million in wash trading in 2023. DWF sold nearly 5 million tokens in two batches near the peak.
Binance stated that the false transactions discovered by the monitoring team were proprietary transactions and did not constitute manipulation. Binance also believed that the head of the monitoring team cooperated too closely with DWF's competitors on the case, which created fraud.
