This is incredible:
US CPI inflation rate has dropped by 5.8 percentage points over the last two years, the most since the 1980s, and hit 2.4% in September.
This is an even larger 2-year decline than the one seen during the 2008 Financial Crisis.
In the past, such a drop has never been seen outside of recessions.
This comes after the Fed conducted one of the most aggressive rate hike cycles in history, raising rates from near zero to 5.5% in 16 months.
Meanwhile, core CPI inflation is still elevated and rose to 3.3% in September, marking the first increase since March 2023.
The Fed is attempting something unprecedented.

Excluding #Grayscale (GBTC), the total jumps to $40B. In just the first 3 days of this trading week, the 11 BTC ETFs have brought in $1.39B, with no outflows.
In particular, #BlackRock (IBIT) led the way, adding 11,331 $BTC ($762M), bringing its total to 380,971 $BTC ($25.7B), over 1/3 of all US Spot BTC ETF holdings.

In the 1990s, the S&P 500's average return during Fed rate-cutting cycles with no recession was +25%.
The best-performing sector in these periods was healthcare with a +40% gain, followed by a +39% and +38% return of financials and consumer staples.
Also, the communication services and technology returned +33% and +10% on average which occurred before the 2000 Dot-Com bubble started to form.
The worst performing sectors were Materials and Energy with +7% and +6% gain, respectively.
If the Fed can pull off a soft landing, history says stocks have more room to run.
