Trump Backs Ending Daylight Saving Time — NYP

Donald Trump has pledged to support Republican efforts to abolish Daylight Saving Time, arguing that the practice is “inconvenient and costly for the country.”

Since 2022, a bill sponsored by Marco Rubio (R-Florida) has been under consideration in the House. The proposal seeks to make Daylight Saving Time permanent.

Arizona and Hawaii are the only two states where residents don’t change their clocks twice a year.
The practice dates back to 1918 when the Standard Time Act was passed to save energy for wartime purposes.
