New California law forces Ilon Musk to move SpaceX and X headquarters to Texas — CNBC
Billionaire Elon Musk has announced that his companies SpaceX and X are leaving California and moving to Texas.
Musk explained that the "last straw" was a law signed yesterday by California Governor Gavin Newsom that prohibits schools from notifying parents that their child has changed gender.
The SpaceX headquarters will move from Hawthorne to the Starbase test spaceport, which is actually Musk's small town, and the X headquarters will move from San Francisco to Austin.
"I made it clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws like this would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children," Musk explained.
It should be noted that Musk's 18-year-old son became transgender in 2022 and dropped his father's last name.
