Deportations Reach Record High Since 2014 – ABC
According to ICE's annual report, deportations of undocumented immigrants from the United States have reached the highest level in a decade. In the 2024 fiscal year, 271,484 people were deported to nearly 200 countries — a 90% increase compared to the previous year.
Among those deported:

Last fiscal year, ICE issued 149,764 immigration detainers for non-citizens with criminal backgrounds, a 19.5% increase compared to the prior year (125,358 detainers). These detainers are ICE requests for state officials to hold non-citizens subject to removal orders.
