🇺🇸❗️The administration of US President Donald Trump is discussing the possibility of sending thousands of troops and armored vehicles, including Stryker armored vehicles, to the border with Mexico to strengthen security measures, the Washington Post wrote on Saturday, citing sources in the Pentagon.
According to the publication, the possibility of deploying up to 2,500 Marines and a mechanized infantry brigade from the 4th Infantry Division in Colorado, as well as units of the 82nd Airborne Division from North Carolina, is being considered.

🇺🇸The US is suspending foreign aid programs, according to an order from Secretary of State Marco Rubio – Politico.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has issued an executive order supplementing Trump's order suspending foreign aid programs for 90 days.
The publication cites some former officials who report that aid to Ukraine, as well as Taiwan, Jordan and other countries, is being suspended.
Exceptions are made only for two countries – Israel and Egypt; the provision of military aid to them continues without changes, as indicated in the relevant paragraph of the document.
The document was distributed to all diplomatic and consular posts and requires State Department employees to issue "stop-work orders" on nearly all "existing foreign assistance grants."
The document says decisions to continue, modify or terminate programs will be made after review by the Secretary of State.

🇷🇺🇺🇦Putin declares his readiness for negotiations on Ukraine, but requires that Kiev lift the ban on contacts with him.
"We are ready for negotiations on the Ukrainian issue. There are issues here that require special attention. For example, as is known, Zelensky issued a decree banning negotiations. How can negotiations be resumed now if they are banned?" Putin said.
He also said that he had "always had a businesslike, at the same time pragmatic and trusting" relationship with Trump, adding that if he had remained president, there would not have been a war in Ukraine.
"I cannot but agree with him that if he had been president, if his victory had not been stolen from him in 2020, then perhaps there would not have been the crisis in Ukraine that arose in 2022," Putin said.
It should be noted that Russian officials have been declaring their readiness for negotiations almost every day for the past week and that they are waiting for a signal from the United States. Trump has not yet contacted Putin and is threatening Russia with sanctions.

🇷🇺🇺🇦Russia merely "shrugs" in response to Trump's threats to impose sanctions and is ready to fight in Ukraine for at least another year, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The Kremlin believes it is successfully resisting sanctions and that Moscow can withstand at least another year of conflict as long as Russians continue to be recruited to the front lines.
At the same time, Moscow has the advantage on the front line, slowly advancing towards Ukraine’s important logistics centres.
"We have an imbalance and inflation, but the situation is not so acute as to demand an end to all military action... We are able to insist on our demands... and if Ukraine's defense continues to collapse as it is now, it would be wiser for the other side to agree to our conditions," said Vasily Kashin, an expert at the Higher School of Economics.
Trump's statements, therefore, "appear to be too little to force Russia to change its core demands, which include de facto recognition of the lands it has conquered as Russian, an end to NATO ties with Ukraine, and a significant reduction in the Ukrainian military."
According to the publication, the Kremlin is more likely to view the US President’s threats as “posturing before negotiations.”
"Putin sees these statements as part of a political game. He doesn't take them seriously... He is prepared for any scenario and has no illusions that a deal will be reached quickly," says Tatyana Stanovaya, a political scientist at the Carnegie Center.
For Putin, she said, the ideal option would be a sweeping geopolitical agreement similar to the one agreed upon at Yalta by the leaders of Britain, the United States and the Soviet Union at the end of World War II, which foreshadowed the post-war division of Eastern Europe into Soviet and Western spheres of influence.
"Of course, Putin wants to end the war, but only on Russian terms. The war in Ukraine is a way for him to get the West to sit down at the negotiating table for Yalta 2.0," Stanovaya says.
"Analysts say Putin is seeking a summit with Trump where the two leaders could hammer out a settlement acceptable to Moscow by pushing aside the Ukrainian leadership, which Putin rejects as illegitimate," the article says.
Experts believe that Trump's threat to impose new sanctions reflects his understanding that the deal could be delayed, and that such behavior could "push Russia away from the negotiating table."
"Russians always want to be spoken to directly; the Kremlin was already irritated by his communication style in his first term... This is not how to communicate with Russians," said Oleg Ignatov, an analyst at the International Crisis Group, a conflict resolution agency.

🇨🇳🇺🇸China supports US President Donald Trump's intention to end the Ukrainian crisis, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning.
"We are pleased to see all parties playing a constructive role and creating conditions for de-escalation and a political settlement of the crisis. China will continue to promote peace talks and stands ready to communicate with other parties," the spokeswoman said.
In response to a question from reporters about whether Chinese leader Xi Jinping had discussed the war in Ukraine with Trump, Mao Ning said: “China will remain committed to advancing peace talks, and we are willing to maintain communication with all parties.”
She added that there are significant common interests and broad opportunities for cooperation between China and the US, and this is where both sides can strengthen dialogue and consultation.
