🇺🇸🇷🇺The West is discussing the possibility of lifting sanctions against Russia in the financial sector after Trump's victory in the US presidential election.
The Financial Times writes about this.
"All the talk this morning is about how to trade with Russia and whether sanctions will be lifted... Traders at Western banks are suddenly wondering whether it is now possible to trade the ruble," one financier told the publication.
The FT notes that Russian shares rose in the first hours after Trump's victory, pushing the MOEX ruble index of leading Russian shares up by 3.6%.
"Russian energy giants Gazprom and Novatek were among the best performers, both up nearly five percent shortly after opening. Online marketplace Ozon grew the most, while Aeroflot gained 6 percent at launch," the publication writes.

🇺🇸Trump will try to end the wars in the Middle East before his inauguration on January 20, former Israeli diplomat Alon Pinkas told CNN.
"He'll say, 'Wrap it up, I don't need this,'" Pinkas said.
He believes Trump will ask Netanyahu to "declare victory" and then make a deal through intermediaries.
Palestinian National Initiative leader Mustafa Barghouti also believes that Trump "will not tolerate wars as they are happening" and "Netanyahu will face a much tougher president than the one he is used to."
But Barghouti says it won't make much difference to the Palestinians "because both administrations have been completely biased" against Israel, and that there are fears that Trump will allow Israel to annex parts of the West Bank, which would mean "the end of the two-state solution."
CNN recalls that during his first term, Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, "upending decades of US policy and international consensus," and recognized Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
