Russia 🇷🇺, Kabardino-Balkaria, Bashkara

Bashkara is the name of a mountain peak, glacier and glacial lake in the Central Caucasus. The height of the mountain is 4162 m., the depth of the lake is about 30 meters.

Beyond the village of Elbrus, the side gorge of Adyl-Su goes to the left - one of the most beautiful places in the Elbrus region.

The beauty of the Adyl-Su gorge, its accessibility, the abundance of various mountain routes created the glory of the "Mecca" of mountaineering by the gorge.

The hiking route to the lake starts from the Dzhantugan alpine camp (a fork to the Kashkatash glacier). In 1.5-2 hours you can get to the glacial Bashkarinsky lake.

The peaks of Dzhantugan and Bashkara are clearly visible beyond the lake. The Junquat Glacier looms on the right. Nearby is a smaller lake formed by the Jan-Kuat glacier. In the distance you can see the white peaks of Elbrus.

Along the entire length of the Adyl-Su gorge, up to a dozen small narzan springs are beating in the riverbed.

Switzerland
🇨🇭, Glacier Express

The Glacier Express is a unique train running on the railways of Switzerland. And not just by roads, but by the Rhaetian Railway, parts of which (the Albula and Bernina lines) are a UNESCO Cultural Heritage site!

It is difficult to call it an express train — the train is quite slow, the journey time from St. Moritz to Zermatt (where the famous Matterhorn peak is located) is seven and a half hours. But the slowness of this composition is very becoming — just look at the places through which it passes, and even 7.5 hours will seem like a moment. What is the cost of the Landwasser viaduct alone, which the train enters immediately after exiting the tunnel!

The first train set off along the route back in 1930, the entire line is a narrow-gauge track, mostly using a gear system due to significant slopes. During the journey on the Glacier Express, passengers pass over 291 bridges and pass 91 tunnels. The highest point of the way is 2,033 meters above sea level.

Croatia 🇭🇷, Hvar Island

Hvar is a long narrow island, in 1997 the Traveller magazine named it one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world. Lavender fields, vineyards and hills offering fabulous views of the mountains of mainland Europe are a wonderful place to relax. There are many charming villages on the island, if you want to relax, head to the southeast, to an almost untouched part of the island.

In the XV and XVI centuries Hvar belonged to Venice and was a prosperous island. Here, in the city of Hvar, the Venetian fleet was located in the Adriatic Sea. In 1571, Turkish troops plundered the city. Many of the buildings that can be admired today were erected at the end of the XVI century or later.

St. Stephen's Square is the largest in Dalmatia. Shops and cafes are located on its sides, one end of the square faces a small harbor, on the other - there is a majestic cathedral of the XVI century.

Saint Lucia 🇱🇨, Shuga Beach

Sugar Beach is a secluded beach on the Caribbean coast of Saint Lucia. The view of the surrounding mountains is amazing, despite the fact that the beach itself is not very bad.

The sand is white, there are a lot of palm trees and luxury hotel infrastructure everywhere. By the way, all beaches in Saint Lucia are public, so boats of different sizes regularly sail to the pier.

Viceroy Resort is a five-star hotel with a room rate from $ 500 per day. The service is great. Just be prepared for the fact that the food and all additional services are very expensive even by the standards of Saint Lucia.

The hotel, located on the site of a former sugar plantation of the XVIII century, surprisingly combines ultra-modern comfort with historical traditions. Elegant cottages and villas with private pools recreate the French colonial style, and the pavilions of the SPA center are built on the same principle as the huts of the Arawak Indians 900 years ago.

UAE 🇦🇪, Dubai, Miracle Garden

It opened its doors to visitors on February 14, 2013. The opening date was guessed for a reason, the park became a gift for the already popular holiday — Valentine's Day.

The garden is unique primarily in that all this floral riot grows in a completely dead desert. To grow flowers in such difficult conditions, the park needs 757,000 liters of water daily!

High technologies make it possible to use for this purpose water from urban wastewater that has been treated. A drip irrigation network is spread throughout the Garden — hoses with holes that periodically give out microdoses of water sufficient to maintain plant life.

The Garden of Wonders really works wonders: here unusual landscape figures are created from the simplest flowers. On an area of 7 hectares, you can see dozens of different compositions, which involve an average of about 100 million flowers.

Italy 🇮🇹, Cala Luna Beach

Cala Luna is a fabulous beach in the Gulf of Orosei on the east coast of the island of Sardinia. This is a "pearl" of rare beauty, a small oasis immersed in the greenery of virgin nature. Crystal, like a tear, water is able to surprise an attentive observer over and over again with a thousand constantly changing shades of blue. It seems that all the azure of the sky and sunlight are concentrated in the depths of the sea washing this amazingly beautiful beach. Until the 70s of the last century, this place was a lost paradise for the elite. But Lina Wertmuller's sensational film in those years turned everything upside down, and now everyone knows this beach.

Now it is a symbol of the east coast of Sardinia. Located halfway between the communes of Baunei and Dorgali, a small bay is surrounded by the lush greenery of one of the most important nature reserves in the region. The nature that reigns supreme in these parts seems to guard a small crescent-shaped beach.

Russia 🇷🇺, Suzdal

Suzdal is a town that seems to have descended from Russian postcards or fairy—tale illustrations. Travel guides to Suzdal call it an "open-air museum". The city has an area of only 15 sq.km. There are more than 150 architectural monuments, including more than 30 temples.

The borders of Suzdal have not changed in recent centuries. The historical center of the city was "mothballed" in the middle of the XX century. There are no high—rise buildings, factory pipes and broadband roads - only picturesque flood meadows and hills, charming buildings with stone mansions and wooden huts.

The sights of Suzdal take tourists back to the times of Russia: the white-stone Kremlin walls, the domes of churches shining with gold, the measured life of the county town.

Horse-drawn teams ride through the streets of Suzdal, and traditional holidays are celebrated with a Russian scale and folk flavor. The main architectural objects of Suzdal are protected by UNESCO.

Its historical center is located on an island that was connected to the mainland only in the 18th century.

Rovinj combines rich traditions and modernity, provincial charm and resort status in an interesting way. This town is still a fishing port, so the seafood here is the freshest and tastiest.

The core of the old town mainly belongs to the Venetian period. Most of the old buildings are built of pale limestone, which looks amazing at sunrise and sunset.

UAE 🇦🇪, Dubai, Dubai Golden Frame

The Dubai Frame is a relatively new attraction of this city, opened on January 1, 2018. The structure is made in the form of a huge photo frame.

The cost of the project was more than $ 60 million, and the construction itself was carried out from 2013 to the end of 2017. The structure is made of glass, steel, aluminum and reinforced concrete. More than 3,000 square meters of laminated glass, about 10,000 cubic meters of cement, and more than 2,000 tons of steel were used. The frame is also known as the Golden Frame of Dubai, as its surface is lined with gilding. In total, the building has 48 floors.

The two towers, each of which has a height of 150 meters, are connected by a 93-meter glass bridge at the top (the golden section principle was used during construction). There, at the top, there is an observation deck, which offers incredible views of the city, on the one hand — to its new part, and on the other — to the old one, what Dubai was like many, many years ago.

Staying in this national park for a long time will leave in your memory memories of beautiful mountain peaks, glaciers, icebergs, waterfalls, wildlife. No matter how many days you visit here, you will be rewarded with magnificent landscapes and unforgettable moments.

It is visited annually by more than 100,000 people a year. Despite a significant increase in visitors (in 1981, the park received only 5,000 people), it can hardly be called a visited park. For example, Yosemite National Park with an area slightly larger than the Chilean Park receives about 5 million visitors, ten times more.

Netherlands , Veluwemeer aqueduct

Although water bridges are not considered an engineering novelty, however, they are still admired by the modern man in the street. After all, it is amazing to observe when cars are moving along the highway, and a bridge rises above them, along which a river flows.

Aqueduct Veluwemeer is located in the Netherlands. It is a bridge connecting mainland Holland and the island of Flevoland. The whole uniqueness of the crossing is that it is not cars that move along it, but boats and small vessels.

Such a non-standard solution as a water bridge was decided to be built for environmental and economical reasons. The engineers decided that a small tunnel under the lake would cost them much cheaper than building a bridge over the water.

Aqueduct Veluwemeer is a perfect example of modern engineering.
The length of the water bridge is 25 meters, the width is 19 meters, and the depth is 3 meters. Boats and small boats can pass over the bridge. Viewing platforms are provided for people.

Denmark 🇩🇰, Frederiksborg Castle

Frederiksborg is a castle recognized as a masterpiece of the Scandinavian Renaissance. The castle was built on 3 islands: on the big island there is a castle structure, on the other two there are residential buildings. To get to Frederiksborg, you need to walk over an S-shaped bridge to a small island, which is the entrance to the Castle.

The castle has 3 wings. The wings were named after the people who inhabited them. The middle wing is called the Royal Wing because, originally, it housed the chambers of the king and queen. One of the wings is called the "princess wing", the other is the "church wing", where the chapel and the grand ballroom are located.

The Baroque garden of Frederiksborg Castle was laid out in 1725. They tried to restore it more than once, but it turned out only by 1996. By the opening of the garden, more than 65 thousand box trees, 166 yew trees, 375 lime trees and 7 thousand hornbeams were planted.

And in combination with the colors of the sky, water, snow and ice – you will see the whole spectrum of colors of the rainbow.

Spain 🇪🇸, Castillo Colomares Castle

The small castle of Castillo de Colomares, located in Andalusia, was built at the end of the last century at the expense of a local doctor in honor of the bright memory of Christopher Columbus.

Its architecture is an embodied fantasy of long-distance travel and exotic countries, incorporating elements of Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic and Moorish styles. The construction of the complex with an area of one and a half thousand square meters was completed in 1994.

The central place in the composition is occupied by the image of the flagship "Santa Maria" - one of the symbols of the era on which Christopher Columbus discovered America at the end of the XV century. Here, on the territory of the castle, a mausoleum has been built, where - as the creators expect - the remains of the navigator will rest in the future.

France 🇫🇷, Monet's Garden in Giverny

The commune of Giverny is famous for the garden of Claude Monet, who at one time was passionate about gardening. In the XIX century, the great artist bought a house in Giverny and began to take care of the local garden. He read special literature, created an artificial pond, bred lilies and other flowers. Giving space to plants, Monet created a colorful carpet of a variety of colors — no geometry and clear lines, the whole color scheme is intertwined and merges in different colors.

Here the artist drew inspiration, many of Monet's paintings depict the same lilies on the pond. Currently, the garden is open to all visitors. On the territory of the park there are rare plants brought by both Monet himself and his friends: for example, Japanese peonies and bamboo were brought especially for the artist. The floral tunnel of roses, which Monet created almost from scratch, also impresses with its beauty.

The ascent to the top is very specific – it is such a spiral staircase, most of which passes outside, and not inside the structure.

Another nuance is that the staircase, like the tower itself, narrows upwards, and at the end of the way, two people who meet there will hardly be able to disperse. The railings there are quite low, which will help to fully experience the extremity of such a climb!
