Kolmanskop is a long–abandoned city in Namibia. Founded by German colonists during the diamond boom at the beginning of the last century, the place has existed for less than half a century. Now the Kolmanskop is a popular attraction among foreign tourists, reminding of the frailty of modern civilization. Usually travelers come here as part of a tour of national parks and neighboring ghost towns, since an hour-and-a-half excursion with a photo session to get acquainted with the half-buried Kolmanskop is quite enough

Popularity returned to the city at the beginning of the XXI century, when the tourist industry of Namibia began to develop rapidly. The authorities quickly carried out cosmetic repairs of the most preserved objects of Kolmanskop, restored the casino and gym, cleared the sand rubble if possible.

Also, the Chuya River is notable for meanders. Meanders, or bends, are the places where the river winds. It may seem strange, but the reasons for the formation of bends have not yet been fully clarified.

France 🇫🇷, Palace of Versailles

The Palace of Versailles is one of the French royal residences, which was built in the suburbs of Paris, the city of Versailles, in the XVII century. Today it is one of the most popular attractions not only in France, but also in the world.

The complex of the Palace of Versailles, which includes several more "small palaces" and a park, is the largest in Europe. Despite the splendor and size, the overall appearance of the Palace of Versailles is integral, it does not create a feeling of piling up elements and excess, which allowed it to become a model for other royal residences of the Renaissance. But Versailles itself became a symbol of excessive and irrational spending of public money during the peak of the absolute monarchy. This is why the palace is interesting, since it is unlikely that residences capable of eclipsing Versailles will appear anywhere in the near historical period.

Russia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Dukkin Lakes

Dukka Lakes are one of the most visited in the vicinity of Arkhyz. Located at an altitude of 2,450 m.n.m., they are opened from the ice earlier than others, for example, Sofia, Zagedan, or lakes near the passes of the Abishira—Akhuba ridge, and later covered with snow, so you can walk here from the beginning of June to mid-October.

There is no "better" time to visit the lakes: in early summer, ice floes still float on the black surface of the lakes (and this is a passion, how beautiful), then meadows and rhododendrons begin to bloom along the shores, and at the end of September, the gorges acquire a bright, saturated yellow-orange color.

All lakes are filled with clear water with a pleasant, blue tint. Sometimes the color of the water surface becomes saturated blue, or even completely black. Standing by the shore, you can see the bottom down to each small pebble.

It is more convenient to travel around the region by car, visit more interesting places at a comfortable pace.

Go to Karadeniz if you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy all the shades of green in the wooded mountains, wake up above the clouds and wander along the tea plantations...
