Australia 🇦🇺, Wallaman Falls
Wallaman is known not only in Australia, but all over the world as one of the highest water flows in the world. The height of the fall is 302 m, and if you take into account several straight platforms – 340 m. The highest waterfall in Australia is located in North Queensland, on the Stony Creek River.
The formation of the Wallaman began more than 40 million years ago, when due to a change in the position of one of the earth's plates, the Herbert River changed its course from west to east. The rocks were gradually eroded by water, which eventually led to the formation of a deep gorge with an equally impressive cascade of water.
This is the territory of the humid tropics, which is a UNESCO site, as part of the World Heritage. Camping near the waterfall is available, so staying here will be quite comfortable. If desired, you can admire not only from above, but also go down to the bottom.
Norway 🇳🇴 , Troll Language (Trolltunga)
Troll Language in Norway is one of the most dangerous and picturesque places in the world. The famous fragment of the Skjeggedal rock can collapse at any moment from a 350-meter height, but somehow inexplicably retains its horizontal position.
The high risk and difficult route do not stop extreme lovers: every year the number of climbers on Trolltunga increases exponentially. Tourists overcome 11 kilometers with a climb of 1200 meters to admire the fabulous views of the mountains and Lake Ringedalsvatn, take dizzying photos, and if you have the courage and recklessness — sit on the very tip of the stone tongue.
A 10-meter stone fragment protruding from the cliff hangs over the Ringedalsvatn Lake, which is framed on all sides by steep mountain slopes. The Troll's Tongue offers stunning views at any time of the day, but the most beautiful landscapes can be photographed at sunset and dawn.
Russia🇷🇺, Crimea, Vorontsov Palace
Vorontsov Palace in Alupka is rightfully considered one of the pearls of the peninsula. The elegant and, at the same time, majestic building is located at the foot of Ai-Petri Mountain. It is surrounded by a unique park complex, and an amazing view of the Black Sea opens from the front staircase.
The palace complex organically fits into the surrounding landscape due to the fact that its location corresponds to the mountainous terrain. That is why the palace has such an original image. The Vorontsov Palace in Crimea and the park adjacent to it often became a film set. At least 17 films have been recognized by the general public.
In the appearance of the building, elements of various eras and a successful combination of architectural styles are visible — strict English, with a direction towards Neo-Gothic, and lush oriental, neo-Moorish.
During the Yalta Conference (February 1945), the palace temporarily turned into the residence of W. Churchill and his entourage.
Switzerland 🇨🇭, Trift Bridge
In the central part of Switzerland there is one of the longest and highest suspension bridges in Europe. The Trift Bridge got its name from a glacier located on Mount Titlis. As a result of the melting of its lower part in 2002, a small emerald-colored lake Triftze was formed at an altitude of more than 3000 meters. Although it decorated an already charming region, it seriously hampered the electrical work that was carried out in the vicinity of the glacier.
In 2004, a suspension bridge appeared above the lake, at a height of about one hundred meters, the length of which was 170 meters, and the width was 1 meter. The structure swayed violently in the wind, and not everyone dared to walk on that bridge. In the summer of 2009, the bridge was modernized. As a result, the structure turned out to be very reliable and stable - the Trift bridge can withstand up to 500 tons of snow and wind gusts up to 200 kilometers per hour.
The bridge claims to be the scariest in the world.
USA 🇺🇸, Colorado, Rocky Mountain
Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the best areas of rock climbing and mountaineering in the United States. Its area is relatively small – the park is organized on a small section of a huge chain of Rocky Mountains. Rocky Mountain is located in Colorado, the nearest town is Estes Park. The park with an area of 1078 km2 was founded in 1915.
Rocky Mountain Park has 720 km of rivers and streams, 150 lakes. In addition, there are 60 peaks, the height of which exceeds 3,700 meters. The highest of them is Longs Peak.
There are grizzly bears here. In addition, beavers, cougars, coyotes, wolves, deer and moose live in the protected area. Also in the national park you can see a thick-horn, wapiti, squirrel and hummingbird.
Rocky Mountain National Park has more than 370 hiking trails, differing in their complexity. Many of them can be ridden by horses. Hiking trails pass through rocky mountains, tundra, alpine lakes, aspen groves, meadows and forests.
Italy🇮🇹, Dolomites, Lake Molveno
This azure lake is more than three thousand years old. Its waters are very similar in color to the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia.
Molveno is the largest lake in the Italian Alps, its area is more than three square kilometers. It is spread out in a valley surrounded by mountain peaks, the highest of which is almost 2000 meters.
In addition to its beauty, Lake Molveno is famous among the inhabitants of the region for the fact that there are a lot of fish in its waters. Even Arctic lake trout can be found here (which can only live in exceptionally clean water). Also (sometimes) in the waters of the lake you can notice a special kind of Baikal omul.
It is best to visit the lake from the second half of June to September. This place is not very popular with tourists, so you will not meet a large influx of people.
