Oh jesus its worse than I thought. It doesn't just compare it says its better.
But with my previous response I show how it's not better, because money isn't created from thin air (it infers this by referencing time value of money). For money to be productive it has to be doing something. With a CD the bank would take it and put it into bonds or something similar. With hex, it's locked in a smart contract doing nothing earning nothing.

I personally never liked the CD comparison but it’s accurate in that with both you lock up the native asset for a certain amount of time to earn more of that asset. And if you end the stake early in both “products” there are penalties.

That’s where the comparison ends.
