In the heart of the 10th century, amidst the bustling cities and serene landscapes of the Muslim world, stood over 90 major libraries, each a treasure trove of wisdom spanning tens of thousands of volumes. These were sanctuaries of learning, enlightenment, and gatherings of the world's intellect.
Each library, with its vast halls and endless shelves, represented the Ummah's commitment to knowledge, understanding, and preservation.
Scholars, thinkers, and seekers of truth from all corners of the world were drawn to these centres, sparking conversations that transcended borders and generations.
Let's reignite the flame of curiosity and dedication to knowledge in our hearts. Let us continue our work in documenting knowledge, where ideas flourish and wisdom is shared freely, in order to become the architects of a future enriched by our heritage.

This group of believers had been faced with a ruler who demanded they abandon their faith or likely face death. In response, they made a choice: to flee and hide.
Their refuge was a seemingly ordinary place that was transformed into a sanctuary by the protection of Allah.

One of the most profound kinds of grief we can possibly feel is the crushing weight of losing a child, a piece of your heart forever missing. This unimaginable sorrow can shake the very core of our being, leaving us questioning everything we believe in.
Yet, even in the depths of such despair, there are embers of strength waiting to be rekindled. Faith, like a flickering flame, can offer solace and guide us towards eventual peace.

In a world where the natural realm intertwines with our quest for knowledge, the contributions of the Ummah to botany and pharmacology are two examples of scientific endeavour and curiosity.
Among the stars of this legacy stands the Andalusian botanist, Ibn al-Baytār, whose dedication to the plant kingdom documented approximately 900 plants, unveiling their secrets for the welfare of humanity.
His work is more than a mere catalogue of names; it demonstrates the holistic approach of scholarship, where the study of nature goes hand in hand with spiritual and physical wellbeing.
Ibn al-Baytār's exhaustive compilations laid the foundations for modern botany and pharmacology, showcasing the rich intellectual heritage that we, as a part of the Ummah, have inherited.
Indeed, his passion for exploration and his reverence for the natural world is inspirational. In our hands lies the potential to harness this knowledge, to innovate, and to contribute to our communities and beyond.

In the 10th century, the shipyards of Spain were buzzing with activity, marking a period of unparalleled maritime might and ingenuity. A fleet of approximately 400 ships set sail on the azure waters of the Mediterranean, showcasing the zenith of Muslim naval engineering.
This was our ancestors' foresight, craftsmanship, and effort. Each vessel was a symbol of prosperity, and a messenger of peace across lands.
And this teaches us the power of collective ambition, the importance of nurturing skills, and the endless possibilities when we channel our efforts towards constructive and noble objectives.
Let's set sail towards a future where we draw strength from our past, navigate the vast oceans of possibility, and anchor in the harbours of success and prosperity!

The Ummah once again showed its pioneering spirit and boundless curiosity, this time within the field of vision and discovery.
With more than 1,200 varieties of optical lenses crafted for telescopes, glasses, and scientific research, our ancestors not only enhanced our ability to see the world more clearly, but also expanded our horizons to the stars and beyond.
These inventors and scientists, driven by a quest for understanding and an insatiable thirst for knowledge, laid the groundwork for what would become essential tools in the exploration of the universe and the intricate workings of the human eye.
Their contributions remind us that our pursuit of knowledge is not just about understanding the world as it is, but envisioning it as it could be!
As our strength lies in our capacity to envision, to discover, and to contribute to a world where the light of knowledge eliminates the shadows of ignorance.

The Ummah once illuminated the world with knowledge, advancement, and civilisation, transforming over 100 cities into thriving centres of learning and innovation.
Among these jewels were Baghdad, Damascus, and Cordoba — cities that stood as the racing heart of the world’s most important adventures. They were epicentres of scholarly pursuit, architectural brilliance, and a flourishing culture that embraced unity.
In Baghdad, the House of Wisdom invited scholars from all corners of the Earth. Damascus dazzled with its vibrant markets, while Cordoba illuminated the "Dark Ages" with its libraries and universities.
This special era of the Ummah teaches us that true strength lies in our ability to nurture knowledge, to foster understanding among diverse communities, and to build societies that shine brightly with the light of learning and development.
Let the spirit of Baghdad, Damascus, and Cordoba live on in us as we build our own legacies.

Picture yourself journeying across the hot desert after being promised to perform Umrah by the Prophet ﷺ. You set out with a clear goal in mind, travel all the way from Madina to Makkah, knowing no-one stops pilgrims from reaching the House of Allah, not even the polytheists.
But to your horror, you are met with an obstacle that seems insurmountable. Disappointment, confusion, and unreal hope might affect your judgment.
And this is exactly the situation that the Companions (radiy Allahu ‘anhum) of the Prophet ﷺ found themselves in, before the Treaty of Hudaybiyah was ultimately signed.
