A friend of God, assiduous on the threshold of the mystery, had repeatedly expressed to us a sincere request.
God then revealed to us the purity of his interiority and the sincerity of his intention and we could see that, by the grace of God, he was among the favorites on whom the favors of divine providence are poured and among those who have been chosen and to whom mercy had given the reality of the Lord's love.
Having therefore found him thirsty for precise instructions on the path of realization and the right direction, we asked the Almighty to allow us to instruct him by verbal discourse, so that he might, if the Most High wants, experience it personally.
We have thus consented to his wishes, with the sole objective of seeking the face of God and his satisfaction.
From God comes help and direction, He alone is enough for me – “what an excellent Protector!" (Cor. 3,173).
Know then, may God be merciful to you, that, although the stations of the People of God are innumerable, their branches are grafted onto four roots from which all the stations start. And these roots are:
conversion,
sincerity of faith,
memory and
love (mahabba).

Allah Ta'ala didn’t say “prayer is Mine”, or “Hajj is Mine”, or “charity is Mine”.
Why did He single out fasting?
Al-Qurtubi said:
"Because showing off may enter into all good deeds, but no one can see when a person is fasting except Allaah, so Allaah connected it to Himself."

Al-Hasan -may Allah have mercy on him-, following a chain of guarantors going back to Abu Muhammad 'Abd Allah -may Allah have mercy on him-, said:
“The readers of the Koran are of three kinds: there is the man who considers that the Book is a commodity that he transports from one province to another and, through this, begs for what people have. There are people who have read the Koran and learned its letters by heart, but they have lost its limits. They trade it with the rulers, but show arrogance towards the inhabitants of their country. People of this species are numerous among the bearers of the Quran.
May God not increase their number! Finally, there is the man who reads the Koran. He begins by learning the remedy provided by the Koran and prescribes it for the ailment from which his heart suffers.
He spends his nights awake. His eyes are bathed in tears. He is one of those who wrap themselves in sadness, dress in fear, sojourn a long time in their prayer niches and bow down in their cloaks (burnous).
It is through them that Allah pours down abundant rain, sends down triumph and repels calamity. By Allah!
This category of carriers of the Koran is rarer than the philosopher's stone. »

With the eye of my mind, I meditated on the earth and its inhabitants, and I could see that the desert regions there are more numerous than the inhabited regions.
Then, I observed the inhabited regions and I found that the disbelievers dominated most of them, and that the followers of Islam were fewer on earth compared to the disbelievers.
Then I meditated on the Muslims, and found that worldly profits had distracted most of them from the Sustainer and turned them away from the science that points to His existence.

The Sunnah recommends offering condolences to the family of a deceased person to make them feel better, comfort them and soothe them for the loss of the dead person.
Islaam has given the woman divorced before entering, half her dowry, to appease her and repair her broken soul.
Blood money has been approved for manslaughter, to remedy the hearts of the victim’s family and to appease them.

To tread the path of truth is to tread the path of the most virtuous among God's creation.
As for the means of acquiring this noble virtue and implanting it in our daily lives, the last messenger sent to humanity, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him), left us many teachings in this regard, describing what honesty and truthfulness require.
"Guarantee me six things, and I'll guarantee you Heaven in return:
that you speak the truth when you speak,
that you fulfill all your promises,
that you live up to the trust placed in you,
that you preserve your sex [illicit relationships],
lowering your gaze and
holding back your hands [from harming others]. »
And God confirmed the truthfulness of the words of His messenger in the Quran:
“Surely, Muslim men and Muslim women, believing men and believing women, devout men and devout women, truthful men and truthful women, patient men and patient women, humble men and humble women, and the men who give Sadaqah (charity) and the women who give Sadaqah, and the men who fast and the women who fast, and the men who guard their private parts (against evil acts) and the women who guard (theirs), and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember (Him) - for them, Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward. (Quran 33:35)

Bishr bin Harith: A Sinner Turned Saint – Studio Dawud Walid
After relinquishing the night life, Bishr became a scholar, transmitter of Prophetic narrations, ascetic and a spiritual doctor.
He was a disciple of Imam al-Kazim and later on became a student of many scholars including al-Fudayl bin ‘Iyad (may Allah have mercy upon him).
Of the many who sat at the feet of Bishr in Baghdad as students of Islamic spirituality was Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal (may Allah have mercy upon him).
Though there is more that can be said about Bishr, an important point to learn from his life is realizing our potential to transform into higher spiritual states.
Like Bishr, many of us, either born into Muslim families or converts, have done or continue to be doing behaviors that are shameful, including inappropriate social interactions, gambling or alcohol and drug consumption. We should not, however, look at ourselves as lost causes. When we feel remorse, this is the first step.
Bishr seized the opportunity to run to the door of repentance as Prophet Muhammad (prayers and peace be upon him and his family) stated, “Remorse is repentance.”
Moreover, in dealing with other people who we see openly involved in reprehensible activities, we should not treat or think about them like they are irredeemable rubbish to be thrown away and forgotten.
We all by the grace of Allah (Mighty and Sublime) can leave states of moral corruption to rise to a station similar to Bishr al-Hafi

The human being needs to keep its promises for Allah’s rewards.
In addition to the common people, the world is facing the wrath of politician’s breaking of promises. Politicians the world over have made it a habit to promise the sky in their manifestoes.
These promises expectedly never see the light of the day.
How much do their countrymen perish because of this is not the topic of discussion at the moment but what is needed is that they also, being our fellow beings, must be reminded of the virtues of keeping the promise and the rewards of it in life hereafter.
“Yes, whoever fulfils his pledge and fears Allah much; verily, then Allah loves those who are Al-Muttaqûn (the pious)” - (Aal ‘Imran 3:76)

"When Ibn Taymiyyah entered prison, he saw the prisoners busy with all kinds of time-wasting games for entertainment, such as chess and dice games, leading to loss of prayer.
The Shaykh rebuked them strongly, and commanded them to keep the prayers, and turn towards Allaah in worship, repentance and good deeds.
He taught them from the Sunnah what they needed to know, encouraging them to do good, and bolstering their faith, and thereby rendered the prison a haven for seekers of the knowledge of religion. Such a place became better than schools and circles.
Some of the released prisoners preferred staying with him rather than being free; and those frequenting his company increased to a point where the prison became full of them!"

The Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him ) said that one of the supplications of Prophet D ā w ū d ( peace be upon him ) was that he would say,
"O Allah I ask You for Your love and the love of those who love You , and all of the actions that would bring me closer to being loved by You.”
Our aim should constantly be to pursue Allah’s pleasure; pursue the reward that He has promised.
Furthermore, one should avoid the things that He has told us to stay away from, but to know that one is loved by Allah, that is the pinnacle.
To strive and remain constantly focussed on that goal to pursue Allah’s love and to meet Him in that state of love is the most special and sacred level that a human being can attain.
