Here’s a thought that gave me some perspective on the deal today:
If Israel pauses fighting for 42 days, they secure the release of 33 hostages, maintain control of the Philadelphi corridor, and can resume fighting after phase one.
Yes, it’s awful that 1,000 terrorists will be released, and this deal doesn’t include all the hostages—that part is hard to stomach. But the release of 33 hostages is indeed some really good news especially if Israel can continue to destroying the terrorists after phase one.
I don’t believe phase two will go into effect.

Per Daphne Liel, Netanyahu said at his at cabinet meeting: President Trump has decided that upon taking office we will receive back all the weapons that were seized. This is important because if we do not reach Phase II, we will have additional tools to return to fighting. President Trump gives Israel full backing to return to war in the event of a violation of the agreement.
