73-year-old coach arrested for allegedly molesting female junior high school student while alone👎👎👎

On the 3rd, Kasuya Police Station of Fukuoka Prefectural Police announced the arrest of a male coach (73) on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse for allegedly performing indecent acts on a student at a sports club. He has reportedly admitted to most of the charges.😰😰😰

According to the police station, the suspect was accused of performing indecent acts on a female junior high school student at around 8:30 am on July 29th at a sports facility in the prefecture. There was a club event that day, and the crime was committed when the man was alone with the female student, who had arrived early. Yen Strengthens for Third Consecutive Day, Trading in the Low 149 Yen Range Amid Sharp Drop in Japanese Stocks💬

On August 2, the yen strengthened for the third consecutive day in the Tokyo foreign exchange market. As of 5 p.m., the yen was trading at 149.28 to 149.30 yen per dollar, a 57 sen appreciation from the previous day’s level. Around 4:10 p.m., the yen had risen to about 148.63 yen per dollar. Concerns over a slowdown in the U.S. economy led to a decline in U.S. long-term interest rates, reducing the interest rate differential between Japan and the U.S., which prompted buying of yen and selling of dollars. Additionally, the Nikkei Stock Average’s sharp decline on the same day increased demand for the yen as a "low-risk currency."⚠️⚠️⚠️

The U.S. Institute for Supply Management (ISM) manufacturing index for July, released on August 1, significantly missed market expectations, and the weekly U.S. initial jobless claims data also indicated a slowdown in the labor market. As fears grew over a slowdown in the U.S. economy and employment, U.S. long-term interest rates fell to their lowest level in about six months, leading to increased buying of yen and selling of dollars.🔼🔼📈📈

"Many Dissatisfied with Government's Approach to My Number Health Insurance Card"🤐🤐

With the transition to the "My Number Health Insurance Card" utilizing the My Number system, the current health insurance cards will be largely abolished in December this year. While the government hopes to enhance convenience as part of its digitalization efforts, there is significant opposition due to concerns about information leakage. Voters’ true feelings seem to be mixed between expectations and anxieties. However, a nationwide survey conducted by the Mainichi Shimbun on July 20-21 revealed that criticism was more focused on the "government's approach" rather than the My Number Health Insurance Card itself.🙄🙄😵‍💫🫠

Out of 507 respondents, 401 wrote comments on the abolition of the current health insurance card. The free-form responses showed that more than half expressed opposition or concerns, though there were also a number of supportive opinions, reflecting a mix of opposing and supporting views.👎👎👎
