YSK that the Baha'i are not LGBT inclusiveThis religion portrays itself as essentially all-inclusive.When questioned on their stance on gay people, members will say things like "we treat gay people the same as anyone else" or "gay people are welcome in our faith."Yet, they do not "permit" same-sex intercourse, and do not recognize gay marriage.https://www.bahai.us/bahai-teachings-homosexuality/Take that as you will. For me, the hypocrisy is gross, and tells me that their "inclusive" image is simply good marketing.Why YSK:Religion that is not honest and transparent is harmful, especially to vulnerable people seeking guidance and community. Imagine the damage of joining as a gay person seeking community, fellowship, and guidance. You become indoctrinated, and then find out that who you are is not allowed within that community.

The Platform/Platform 2 questions Hey I just watched these two movies and I am very very confused. I’m not good at understanding themes so forgive me if some of my questions are really stupid. THEME QUESTIONS What does the child being sent up represent in both movies? I understand how the platform is supposed to represent capitalism and society but what does that he children being sent up supposed to represent? What does the children scene in platform 2 represent? The one with all the kids fighting for the top of the pyramid? Why does the winner of the game get sent to the bottom of the platform? What is that even supposed to mean. What was the animal cruelty supposed to represent? The cruelty of people? There’s one scene where the platform goes all the way to the bottom and we hear animals clawing and growling. What does that mean?What was the point of the fat guy who liked pizza. What was his representation of the theme? There were several biblical references throughout, like mentoring the word savior multiple times, 666 people in the platform, and the christian black guy. What do those represent? Does the law and the people trying to enforce the one meal a day in platform 2 supposed to represent communism? PLOT QUESTIONS Was the girl at the bottom real in platform 1? Was she the message? I’m pretty sure she’s not because they show in the mid credits scene the chefs reacting to the panna cotta but not the kid.How does the main character girl of platform 2 survive at the very bottom of the pit all the way until she is reunited with her ex?What is the point of the platform? Is it like the cube where we’ll never know its purpose? Why does miharu search for her kid after willingly let her kid play in the pyramid game? She knew that there was a chance of her kid getting chosen right?So sending a kid up wasn’t the message right? Because the girl sent up the black kid and the platform kept on going. What’s the point of the kids then. I know it’s a lot and some of them might be stupid questions but i’m a stupid person so thanks if you can answer these

ELI5: What does a medication’s 98% effectiveness really mean?

I just started on a medication that claims to be 98% effective. To keep things SFW, let’s say it’s a daily pill that makes poisonous berries safe to eat. If I eat 50 berries, does this mean that one will for sure kill me? If I eat 100 berries, will two kill me? 98 sounds like a big number, but when the stakes are as high as they are, gambling with one in 50 doesn’t feel good, what does this percentage actually mean?

Barbie, Dune 2 and Furiosa not in 4k?

That "premium" plan is tough to justify when the biggest new movies are HD only. I watched Dune 1 on 4k on HBO MAX but let the subscription drop. I'd switch back if my SO wasn't hooked on Korean dramas.

ELI5 Why does treating symptoms not make illness worse?

A lot of medicine is focused on treating symptoms for the comfort of the patient rather than treating the actual illness, especially for incurable things like the flu.Fever heats the body up to kill infections, coughing removes fluid from the lungs, inflammation usually means an increased white blood cell count, pain prevents you from doing things that will make your condition worse, etc. Most symptoms of sickness are your body’s attempt to fight the sickness, so why do medicines like dayquill and Ibuprofen not make sickness worse?I understand that fevers specifically can become life threatening when they get too high, but coughing? Inflammation? Isn’t it bad to stop your body from doing those things?

Do any other users of a Fire TV Stick experience this problem?

If I leave a show paused long enough it'll eventually return to the show's title screen.When I click resume it'll show a loading screen at 91% while playing the video and sound in the background but it'll never finish loading and remove the loading screen. However, as soon as I hit the back button on my remote it removes the loading screen and shows the video playing before it goes back to the title screen, but I still run into the same problem if I click resume again. I have to restart my device for it to work again.

ELI5: Why is flying statistically safer than taking the train?

You can find everywhere that flying is about 10 times saver than taking the train but even though flying is very safe and you only hear about a fatal incident maybe 1-2 times a year, the last time I hear about a train crash was more than 3 years ago.So my best guesses are either1. European trains are safer than flying but Amtrak or Trains in India which seem way less regulated have occasional deaths making taking the train the worse methods People jumping in front of trains/cars stuck on crossings etc. count for a death by train.I just seem to have bad information and people are dying in train crashes way more often it's just never really reported to the point I noticeFlying with all it's regulations is actually safer than trains from a technical standpoint and all the safety regulations on trains fail more often than on a flight

Seasonal Shows that take too long.

I used to love stranger thing especially after the first season.I used to love demon slayer after the first season.Same for breaking bad.Same for attack on titans. Then seasons taking years long to drop new episodes are causing these shows downfall. By time you bring out a new season we don't even C A R E about what happened prior anymore. The hype is gone. The excitement has dissipated. And people actually start resenting being left with cliffhangers and don't watch the show anymore. I think it'll be a good idea to pre-make the shows episodes at LEAST 1 year in advance so they can have a steady flow of episodes with a waiting period of 2 months apart.Life is so hectic and fast paced. So much happens. Mr.Directors n Actoring peoples. We need to move a little quicker than that.

Netflix and Travelling

I am on the road for work regularly. Will Netflix allow two people to use it if they have different locations or will i have to tell the household they are out of luck if I want to use the account while in a different time zone (since I assume this looks like account sharing to them).Also how much time of commercials do you see if you sign-up for the cheaper option on a 90 minute movie?Never previously considered Netflix but one of the hotels I frequent has blocked devices from functioning on their TVs (so no more travelling with a firestick).

Squid Games season 2.

Separation.They say they love giving others a choice on if they live or die. But it's not true. While leaving players in game, if the vote to leave and split the earnings failed, is fair. There should be a 3rd option where players can leave with nothing if they don't want to continue. Because if I don't want to play anymore others shouldn't decide if I do or don't. What do you think?
