YSK to not be obsessed with getting 100% on homework in college
At /r/YouShouldKnow
Why YSK: in most college classes, tests are worth 90% of the grade and homework is 10%. On homework, there is usually a question or two that is extremely challenging to solve. It isn’t worth the effort to spend 3 hours on a single problem that has minimal impact on your grade. What matters for succeeding in college is doing practice exams. Do a few questions under exam-like conditions every single week. The reality is if you get 100% on homework but Cs on exams, you get a C in your class. If you get 70-80% on homework but As in exams, you will get an A.

What makes Squid Game more popular compared to Alice in Borderland when most people seem to say the latter is a way better death game show?
At /r/netflix
I’ve read a lot of reviews on both series and people keep comparing those two. I know one is way more popular than the other but people seem to agree that AiB has way more deadly and better quality games overall?, which made me curious about what made the series less popular then. Is this just for a marketing? What made the difference?

Best place to watch Netflix? PS5 or PC?
At /r/netflix
PS5 doesn't seem to support Dolby atmos, only 5.1 I had Dolby atmos set in the PS5 settings and that didn't help. I do get Atmos with discs as well as Disney plus. On the other hand, I tried the Netflix app on windows store, and by setting the sound settings to Dolby atmos for home theater, I do get Dolby atmos. But for some reason, nothing shows up as 4K when looking at the info, even though I have 4k 60 in my Nvidia settings. So I have no idea what resolution Netflix is streaming at since on PS5 most shows I wanted to watch said 4K HDR. I really want 4k HDR and Dolby atmos, but apparently I can't have both on either system. Unless I'm doing something wrong. Any help or tips? Does the Netflix app play in 4K on windows even if it doesn't say? I do have the 4K Netflix subscription if that helps.

Netflix says my TV isn't part of the Netflix Household
At /r/netflix
My dad went on a trip away from our home for a bit, and logged into Netflix wherever he is and now Netflix says that my TV isn't part of the Netflix Household. For a little more information I pay for the subscription with my debit card, but the subscription is linked to his email. Is there anything that I can do to access my subscription.

YSK parents who treat their child too well can do a lot of harm
At /r/YouShouldKnow
Why YSK: a lot of problems in society now is caused by parents spoiling and pampering their child. Their child never has to cook, never has to buy clothes, doesn’t have to buy their own clothes, doesn’t have to wash or do laundry, etc. when they get to college or a job, they are going to be attacked. WWE Video Quality
At /r/netflix
I am having issues with the video quality for WWE on Netflix. When there's no movement, it looks awesome. As soon as there's motion, the picture quality gets a bit blurry, similar to the issues so many had with the Tyson vs Paul fight. I've tried to do my homework. I have the premium subscription. HDR is turned on. My internet is high speed and I have no issues with anything else. I'm watching a hockey game in 4K right now and it's running just fine. On Netflix, I have no issues with anything but WWE that's supposed to be HD. It's not the fact it's live either, as I tried watching Monday's Raw episode the next day and Survivor Series from November and experienced the same problem. I turn on a movie in 4K with HDR and it looks incredible. I turn on something WWE HD and it looks like shit. Why is this an issue for me only with WWE programming on Netflix?

YSK why it’s important to know that difference between trauma bond and trauma connection
At /r/YouShouldKnow
Why YSK Trauma Bond vs. Trauma Connection. I think people often misunderstand what a trauma bond is. It’s not about two people bonding over a shared traumatic experience. A trauma bond is when a person impacted by abuse forms an emotional attachment to their abuser. This happens because the abuser creates a cycle of harm followed by kindness or apologies, which makes it hard for the person to leave. When two people connect over a shared traumatic experience, it’s better described as a trauma connection or shared trauma bond. That kind of bond is based on mutual support and understanding, not the harmful dynamics of abuse and control.

YSK college in America heavily involves rejection, failure, and disappointment
At /r/YouShouldKnow
Why YSK: people think college is a fun and great time when it isn’t. When I was in college, I got rejected from sports clubs, fraternities, and engineering clubs. People around me into these organizations and have a much more fulfilling and awesome experience. I graduated without ever making much out of my time there. It isn’t like high school where teachers and staff cater to students. In college, no one cares if you are suffering. Honestly, some enjoy seeing others suffer while they take everything for themselves. Life is just like that. In work, your employer will be even more aggressive and careless about the well-being of others

After questionnaire, not eligible for Netflix Preview Club
At /r/netflix
I received an email from Netflix Preview Club that I'd be invited to join. I do play testing for board game sometime and thought being a screener for movie sounds cool I filled out the Questionnaire and then they said that I'm not eligible There was a page saying "were looking for a variety of people to be in the club " and asked me if people in my house hold meet the criteria . Which was just what industry there in. It was stuff like entertainment and media and writing but then randomly healthcare . Maybe it was a trick question? I filled out as many as I thought were reason able bc my family members and I have worked different jobs and I thought that would be a good thing I didn't exactly stretch the truth but I did go with stuff like telecom if it was software or whatever Anyway I got rejected was that just a test to make sure screeners aren't biased? I tried to take it again and they wouldn't let me just frustrated because I really thought it was positive to fill as many boxes as you could.

ELI5 Why are photography prints so expensive?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
Just curious. I found this great photographer who did the bulk of his work in the 1970s and I wanted to buy some prints. Never bought anything directly from a photographer’s website before. I wasn’t expecting it to be super cheap, but the cheapest one was around 2,500 dollars. I get that photography is a legitimate art, I guess what I don’t understand is how prints that I assume were made 50 years after the original photos were taken cost so much? It’s a major bummer as there’s no other way to purchase any of his work. I’m too afraid to ask any of my photography friends because I don’t want to offend them if I’m missing something really obvious. I googled it as well and most of the responses are people shaming the question askers. So I came here…

ELI5: Why did Canadian homes appreciate so much?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
I understand that there are a number of intricacies to this question. What I'm really looking to understand is how a home with little to no renovations in 10 years is sold 2 to 3 times it's price and expected to be sold. I understand the homeowners want the more bang for their buck but realistically how do they make it make sense in their head that their home HAS to be sold for double it's buyout price simply because inflation? This seems like the situation where someone says ''I saw my computer sold at 1000$ on Ebay so that's what I'm asking.''

The Breakthrough
At /r/netflix
I binged this show based on a true story in one sitting today. What do you guys think? I loved it! Believable characters, great actors! From Netflix:Based on a true story, the crime drama series The Breakthrough follows the second-largest criminal investigation in Swedish history. In the early 2000s, the small city of Linköping was rocked by a double homicide in broad daylight. Two people — a child and a woman in her late 50s — were stabbed to death. But with no motive or suspect, the case eventually grew cold. Nearly two decades later, the police made headway after a genealogist entered the fray. Starring Peter Eggers and Mattias Nordkvist, the series was directed by Lisa Siwe (The Bridge) and written by Oskar Söderlund (Snabba Cash). “Though this is a fictional drama series about a crime, it is, above all, a depiction of a human tragedy — where we place our focus on the victims and the investigation rather than the perpetrator,” Siwe told Netflix. “It’s a story about the compassion and care for one another that is needed to move on when terrible things happen.”

Love Game
At /r/netflix
Yous see this yet? Its like a traditional Chinese type of style, mixed w/ a new perspective, seeing as the actress is "transported into ancient times.." and a voice from above (like a video game/narrating the game) gives her the mission to marry some hot prince that lives in or around the courtyard in—i think the classical homes are called Siheyuan (四合院) but correct me if im wrong. i just began watching it, suffice to say that the special effects are interesting, as well as the story.Theres nothing i can really spoil, alas i can just touch on the beginning where theres a demon of the feminine type—who seems to take on the form of other such types of demons.

Which one do you like more? I personally like episodes airing once a week more, because it builds suspense and you can also make theories with your friends and discuss what will happen next. It also last longer - in my case for sure (if it airs all at once, i would watch it in one day).
