YSK We will be more strongly enforcing Rule 2
At /r/YouShouldKnow
Up until now we have been pretty lenient in regards to Rule 2, which states that post must describe why the YSK is useful. We have approved posts that didn’t state why the knowledge is useful under the guise that its usefulness was implied. However, due to an increasing number of these types of posts, we feel it needs to be addressed. Therefore, starting now we will be enforcing Rule 2 more heavily. All posts must include (in the text body) an explicit statement of why the post is useful. Even if you think the reasoning is obvious, you still must explicitly state it. This should be done by having a simple “Why YSK:” in the text body. (Just for those who might not know, the text body is the area where you can put additional text after the title text when creating a post.) Please note that it should go in the text body -- not the title or the comments.Remember that this sub is focused on self-improvement on how to do things, improve on activities, skills, and other tasks.BASICALLY:All posts must include a "Why YSK:" (typed just like that) section in the text body.[[Additionally, we want to take this time to remind everyone that r/YouShouldKnow is not a place to share personal stories or anecdotes. If you feel your post needs to include one, a brief anecdote is fine. The entire (nor the majority of the) post should not be about your own personal experience, however. We will be removing posts that are just personal anecdotes.]]Why YSK: We (the YouShouldKnow moderators) hope it will improve readers' abilities to better understand the purpose of the sub, mentioned above and in the expanded Rule 1. Single's Inferno Season 1 - 2 (Korean Dating Show)

There are some curious things I've observed watching this show. I am very intrigued by it and the intersex dynamics between the contestants. The men seem to lack [Single's Inferno Season 1 & 2]the aggression to claim their woman and I find it a bit comical but also frustrating at times. The guys lack confidence! They're overly cautious when they approach the women treating them like they're fragile. It's so gentlemanly to a fault. It's just not how things are supposed to be done. Their approach simply gives power to the women. It's so unusual for men to put their fate in the hands of a woman. It's so clumsy and awkward seeing men waiting with bated breath for a woman to pick them.When the women experience rejection, it's just excruciating. It's painful to watch because they wear their emotions on their faces and that's just awful. [Single's Inferno Season 2]One of the girls was so unfavoured by the men, she broke down in tears because she wasn't being picked. That was painful. I feel like the producers of the show had to step in to intervene as she eventually gets picked by a guy that's a twist entrant in the middle of the show. It's so against the grain of events it's clearly manufactured as the girl may have been contemplating leaving the show.Another problem that seems to be a societal norm is the [Single's Inferno Season 1 & 2]inability to move on. This criticism is levied against both men and women. When they are clearly not their targets favourite, they engage in this self destructive "I refuse to move on" thing that's so problematic. It's so twisted! That means that it's an obsession rather than a love interest. This is a critical flaw.Overall the show is great. The women are beautiful and the men are good looking. It's nice seeing how things are done in a conservative society albeit frustrating at times. I do think that the episodes are too long and [Single's Inferno Season 1 & 2]I'm not a fan of the physical challenges that earn people first choice rights. I think they made a mistake here and should've gone with a random system instead.

ELI5 How do u-cut Christmas tree farms work?

I just read that Christmas trees take 7-12 years to mature to being the right height to cut for a tree. I’ve done u-cut several times and everyone tends to cut trees closer to the parking lot/front of the farm. How are they making sure there are enough trees in that area for people to cut the next year if so many are cutting in that area?

ELI5: LED bracelets at Taylor Swift concert

Ok so I planned on attaching a photo, but since it seems I’m not allowed to in this sub, I’ll try to explain as best as I can! How do the LED bracelets at the Taylor Swift concerts work? When I went, everyone got handed them as soon as they got through security. Meaning they’re handed out in no particular order.But during some of the songs, they light up and make a pattern (i.e. during one of the songs, the bracelets in the crowd light up in the shape of a heart). But how do they know which ones should light up at which times to make the patterns/shapes, when they are handed out in no particular order? If they were placed at each seat, this would make a bit more sense, but it has me puzzled.

After the retail extravaganza that is the day after Thanksgiving, I noticed every retailer had every single product for the exact same price. Even the “exclusive” sales items had equivalent pricing across all major retailers. Then after the sale prices were all gone the pricing went right back up to identical “regular prices”.
