ELI5 - Why don't gun dogs need hearing protection?

Saw a few videos of people at bird shoots (UK) and they use the dogs to fetch downed birds.I'm lead to believe that dogs hearing is better than a humans, so why don't they have some form of hearing protection? Is it just something that's ignored or are do dogs ears work differently?

YSK, hospitals all across the US, don’t want to call you patients anymore, you are customers now.

I wish there was someway to make people more aware of this. In training, textbooks, new policy, internal documents, ect, hospitals are pushing to replace “patients”, with “customers”. Or “clients” at best. When I first received my medical training, some years ago, I had never heard of this. Now it’s all over everything. Learning materials, education stuff, internal policy, you name it. Why YSK: This seemingly small change represents the direction healthcare in the US is continuing to head in. When you are ill, when you need care to save or heal your body, you don’t have a right to help. You are not a patient, you are just a customer, and customers must pay. In the US, your health is not a right. The most basic things needed to live your longest life (with teeth), are for sale. And if you cannot purchase, go die or waste away. *im furious about this and refuse to use the word in any of my practice. Wonder how long that will last.

ELI5: Why does a round pipe flow better than an oval or rounded rectangle with an identical cross-sectional area?

Designing an exhaust system but I'm running into a clearance issue that oval pipe would solve, but everything thing I've read states that oval pipe has lower flow and higher pressure at the same velocity.Why? If the area is the same shouldn't flow rate be the same? It's not like a square which has corners that cause turbulence and drag.

Under the CRTC's Wireless Code, service providers cannot charge more than $100 for domestic and international data roaming within a month or per billing cycle. Service providers must also notify users when they are roaming internationally.Telus and other service providers get around this by adding a condition into the customer contract saying that they agree to pay the companies roaming rates if they want to use their services. In the end, unsuspecting customers easily rack up owing hundreds to thousands of dollars for roaming. If this law exist only for every service provider to be able to get around it, why does it exist?

ELI5: Why couldn't polio victims living in iron lungs be transitioned to other forms of ventilation as they became available?

I've seen many cases online where people were in iron lungs for decades after things like portable ventilators, BiPAP, etc became common, why were these patients not transitioned to these forms of ventilation that could offer them more mobility?

Stranger Things, Squid Game, You, Cobra Kai all ends this year with their final season and also we get Wednesday Season 2 this year, but let’s be real—it’ll probably be at least 2028 before we see Season 3 (if there is one). So apart from Bridgerton whats left for next 2-3 years after 2025 for Netflix? Yes there are couple of good series which I did not mention in this post, but these ones have their biggest viewership.
