I was always under the presumption that corporate bail outs were for companies/corporations that if they went out of business (GM in Detroit) that they could get a corporate bail out. That's why mom and pop shops don't "get bailed out", but shut down because of bankruptcy.

Why YSK: This is, admittedly, a marginal one, but these buttons can be useful on physical calculators in the rare cases where you still use them.These buttons manage the calculator's memory. Calculators can typically store a single number in their memory. When you turn the calculator on, it sets its memory to 0.The M+ button adds the currently displayed number to whatever is stored in the memory. The M- button subtracts the currently displayed number from whatever is stored in the memory.The MR replaces the currently displayed number with whatever is stored in the memory. The MC button resets the memory to 0.For example:If you enter 25 and press M+, the memory is now 25.Then, you hit the clear button and enter 10, and press M-. The memory is now 15.If you clear and enter 5, then press M+, the memory is now 20.If you clear and now press 30 +, and then MR, the calculator will input 20 from its memory. Press = and it will display 50.If you press MC, the memory is reset to 0.

Who else has watched Kaos? I’m obsessed with this show, but I am fearful that it will not see a season 2 with how Netflix cancels anything that doesn’t stay way up in the rankings. It’s set up so beautifully for another season, so, at this point, I’m really just asking all my friends (and I guess everyone here) to give it a watch. You won’t regret it.

ELI5 How do Healthcare Insurance providers not go bankrupt?

Hi, I’m from the UK, the healthcare industry in the US has always confused me but one thing I can’t seem to get my head around is how the insurance companies don’t go bankrupt. I understand how insurance companies work in the fact that they accurately calculate premiums and invest the money whilst not receiving more claims than premiums. However, in the healthcare industry wouldn’t they receive many claims on a regular basis? Especially from people who require medication on a regular basis e.g InsulinFurthermore, with hospitals bills and medication being so expensive will they not payout more in bills than they receive in premiums from people?

Psychological thriller movie(can’t remember the name)

So my fiancé and I watched a movie probably 2-3 years ago about a man who was invited to either a job or an event or something and he basically got trapped in this building and every door was something different and crazy. I vividly remember a part where he was in a dark room with like 100 people all screaming and scaring him and then they were like “you passed the test” and let him go. As he went home he ended up joining the organization and started telling people to go to it. Does anyone have any idea what this movie could be called?

Storms and significant weather events are becoming more severe, and more common. Hurricanes and tornadoes are categorized, or bucketed, into a scale. This helps scientists when studying them, but also ensures the layperson observer can understand the severity of a natural disaster and its risks when widely reported. Saffir-Simpson Scale:Category 1-5 for hurricanes Enhanced Fujitsu Scale:EF1-5 for tornadoesYou may hear talk online or on the news of “category six” storms or tornadoes in the context of “this storm is so big/fast it’s a theoretical category six”It is no doubt tempting to adopt this language as it is useful in conveying to others the very real and present severity of a storm like Milton. Here’s the problem:Large insurance companies are, and have for some time been, actively funding research at ALL the major meteorological research schools to drive and support the creation of academic support for recognition of new, higher categories of storm. The effect of this support inherently places graduates who have studied under this influence in roles at news broadcasters or governement organizations like the NOAA where they can influence policy and ultimately facilitate official recognition of these new storm categories. These individuals themselves have real, legitimate scientific purposes and merit for advocating for these changes, notwithstanding that their science was in some circumstances funded by the insurance-industrial-complex.Insurance companies, though, have here an ulterior motive. In many policies, there exists language which will permit them use these new storm designations as uninsurable events. Events by their designation as “Cat6” or “EF6” as being outside of that which was an anticipated or covered disaster event when the policy was underwritten. Why YSK:TLDR: Insurance companies are funding research to validate “new” storm classifications to fuck policy holders out of their rightly due compensation.

There was a couple that recently went viral for him proposing at a fast food establishment. And their wedding and honeymoon costs were all funded by companies who saw the post. Does a show like this exist? A couple that absolutely is in love and deserve a dream wedding. But they always put others before themselves or recent tragedy of funds set their wedding back? Netflix surprises them with sponsors and planners and a budget to plan their dream wedding. Food, location, decorations, dresses, suits, and the ring. And then Netflix worthy documentation of the beautiful wedding.

Why YSK: These buttons actually do different things and it can help you use a calculator more effectively.When the calculator has C/AC buttons, the "C" means "clear entry" and "AC" means "all clear". The "C" button will clear the current number you are inputting, and the "AC" button will make the calculator forget everything.When the calculator has CE/C buttons, the CE button means "clear entry" and the "C" means "all clear". The CE button will clear the current number you are inputting and the C button will make the calculator forget everything.For example, if you type 1, +, 3 and then hit the clear entry button, the calculator will clear the 3 but remember the 1 +. If you hit the all clear button, it will forget everything and you can start over from scratch.Occasionally, you can press the clear entry button twice which does the same thing as clear all.So pressing the keys in this order: 1, 0, +, 4, CE, 5, = will return 15.

Existing Netflix account to be added as an extra member. is that possible?

Hi I was using my ow account in Netflix for years, now I moved to a new country and my previous membership has been cancelled. As my sister-in-low already has a paid subscription(premium) she can add an extra member and it is way cheaper than to buy a new one.
So my question is can she add my existing profile's email as a new extra member? Or should I open a new account as a new "extra member".
I hope that it is somehow possible to do so, otherwise Netflix is just forcing to delete an account and sign up a new one, and lose the whole history.
