ELI5: is gold technically in a giant economic bubble?

As I understand it, a good is in a bubble when its price far exceeds its intrinsic value. I don't see how the intrinsic value of gold exceeds that of other materials; sure, it's shiny, resistant to corrosion, soft and malleable, relatively easy to melt, non-toxic, etc., but it doesn't have a lot of industrial uses (only ones I can think of are jewelry and electronics in small amounts) and is definitely not as useful as other materials like iron. Sure, iron is nowhere near as rare, but why does something being rare mean that it has intrinsic value? Surely there are rare materials that don't have any practical purpose and are pretty much worthless.Does this mean that gold as a good is in a bubble? And if gold only has (non-intrinsic) value because we agree that it does (just like paper money), why don't we stop using gold as a currency altogether and just use paper money?Please keep in mind I know very little about economics. Thank you.

Show started in the end of the series

So I've just watched The Haunting of Bly manor which ended abruptly for me were I expected a second season or something in the works. But when I checked the series information it showed I started on the 8th out of 9 episodes...When starting the series it was intriguing and I figured it was some 'in medias res' works for the pilot but no, what the f.I clicked the thumbnail, watching on second monitor and the show starts playing, never seen before, no previous watches and no foreign login logs. Is this common? I'm baffled, I don't even even understand how the program could set me up by mistake at the second to last episode..??

I tried watching the show because according to the internet it is mystery driven. I'm on ep 5 and so far it's okay, not that great, but I think this is more like a harem show for boys so it's not appealing to me. However the reviews in reddit says otherwise. What episode does it start to get really good?

I have always wondered about the origins of this saying. Living on the west coast the weather usually comes in from the west where the sun sets. It seems like we always get our red skies at night from the west and our red skies in the morning from the east. Neither seems to indicate weather. Does where you live have any bearing on this old saying or is it all an old sailers tale?

Why YSK: the safest places in the world still aren't 100% safe, and those are places that have strict-ish security screenings like airports and sports arenas... run by minimum wage people. Whether you're a 7 year old going to class or a regular dude in a hotel lobby, you'll never be truly safe. Even a large private security team gets you - at best - revenge. Though it's still not perfectly safe, the only way to keep yourself the safest is to never do anything around anything living, ever. Good luck out there.
